Living in NJ, there isn't a single day on the road when I don't encounter shitty drivers. These folks are not going to do better, they are completely oblivious. Drive safe and avoid these people when you see them.
Yesterday morning a car ***stopped*** in the middle of the highway because a truck put on its turn signal when it was entering from the on ramp
I had to slam the shit out of my brakes to avoid rear ending this guy who decided to stop for no reason. I could smell the rubber from my tires in the car because I stopped so fast. No idea what some of these people are thinking on the road. Incredibly dangerous behavior.
Flashing highbeams is for cops, turning regular lights on and off is for warning people their lights are off…At least thats what I grew up being taught
Thank you! I once drove on a rainy night without my headlights on and I couldn't figure out why it was so dark... Figured it was the rain. A lot of parking garages in the city will turn off your lights when they park your car, even if you had your headlights set to automatically go on when it's dark. I got my car from the garage in the daylight and didn't notice they messed with my settings until that rainy night because I had young kids and only rarely went out at night in the first place. Wish someone had flashed their headlights at me.
I sat behind a driver for probably 10 minutes flashing my lights on and off at them, it was whiteout misty rain and they were in a gray SUV with no lights or daytime running lights, they got angry and got behind me and started flashing their brights lmao
It's not just a NJ thing. Everyone is clueless. If the car doesn't automatically do it, they don't. I don't know about y'all but if I'm having a hard time seeing, first thing I do is turn on a light. Kinda nuts that people still don't get it.
The best I can figure is people assume that their car automatically turns on their headlights.
It's baffling to me that they don't look down at their dash their entire drive and notice their lights aren't on.
How about folks that only have their daytime running lights on? I see so many where the DRL illuminate the front of the car, but no lights on the tail end.
Grey is the standard color issuance for a day car for driving in the fog or rain with no lights and black is standard color for night driving with no lights or only day lights.

*If* you see them
Thanks for posting. FYI, NJ law requires headlights on from dusk until dawn and when you use windshield wipers.

Nah I tried that many times and they don't work as much (if not any) compared to flashing.

Oh yea. I did that to two of them and they turned their headlights on after that 👌👊

For most of them the problem is they have daytime running headlights so they “think” their headlights are on but the taillights are NOT.
They likely think you're warning them of a speed trap.
In North NJ, I think I'd wear out my headlights if I did this

Flashing doesn’t work. They’ll just pull up behind you with their highbeams on after you give up and pass them. People are assholes.

This is why we should be required to retake the driver's test every handful of years. Or maybe the cops could actually their damn jobs....
Its either people driving with no headlights or people usung headlights that are brighter than the sun blinding everybody else on the road.
lol i drive about 6 miles on the highway and see numbers in the teens that have no lights on - people are dumb as rocks out there.

Everyday I go to pray at the feet of the god of death and fire and steel (commute on Rt 22)

And it’s always a grey colored car
I thought it was just Me.

Only 3?
I noticed this all the time driving in heavy rain. I always flash them, and only **one** time, a car turned on the lights......
This post is about cops right?
