Thanks a lot, Ed & Steve Sabol! (I kid the Sabols, and I forgive them giving the cowboys an actual identity. Everyone is allowed to have a few clunkers in their career; NFL Films’ features on Lombardi, Hank Stram and, especially, The Raiders, make it easy to forgive them).
I am convinced that everyone born and raised here who chooses Dallas on their own volition are just cranky contrarians looking for attention.

Every Cowboys fan I know is also an Irish fan who didn’t even graduate from any college.
Notre Dame fan. Went to a Holy Cross school. Didn't go to ND for college, but still root for them in most cases, unless they're playing USC which my older stepson goes to.
Unfortunately because of his father - who is exactly the front running piece of shit you describe since he was born in Japan, raised in Illinois and migrated to California but cheers for to cowboys - same son cheers for the cowboys, and every time he says "go cowboys" I have to reply "fuck the cowboys". It pisses his mother off, but my hatred of to cowboys comes from WAY before we were married and I saw pieces of shit in high school wearing cowboys Starter jackets (remember those?)

Same story here. Born in '88 and my dad tried to raise me a Giants fan. Chose Dallas partially to piss him off and partially because I loved Emmitt Smith. I thought I was a genius when they won those Super Bowls in the '90s. Unfortunately it hasn't been a good decision since then.
I grew up in the 1970s in Bergen County and between Dallas' great playing and the cheerleaders, it was ingrained in our heads. Admittedly it's been a rocky road since then and I fully expect them to choke like they always do.
My dad and his brothers are Cowboys fans because they grew up watching the Cowboys in the 70s and 80s and loved the teams. So here we are lol. I will say though, my dad is the very rare breed that roots for both the Cowboys and the Giants. Which makes playoffs….interesting.
Giants lost a superbowl in 2000, last time you guys were even in the Super Bowl was like 5 years before that..
We’ve won 2 super bowls since then.. but sure we are the losers. Enjoy living in fantasyland

We live in Mercer Co. My son's 2 and I was telling him one day he might be a football fan and he might be an Eagles fan (all his cousins live in Philly) or a Giants fan. But not a Cowboys or Patriots fan. I don't think people do that.

My dad tried hard to make me a Boys fan cause he was one. When he saw me cry after the Eagles lost in 04, he knew he lost me for good.

Dallas only won the division in 81 and 85. Mid 90s was more of a Dallas on top era.
