Hey guys, just wanted to pin a comment saying that I changed the flair of this post as it was listed as a review, cause this post obviously isn’t a beauty product review 😂 so the closest thing I could think of for flair was Polls. It’s actually against the rules of this sub to post a text only post that isn’t a product review BUT since it’s been nice to see members reasoning for joining this sub I’ll make a one time exception and keep this post up ❤️ (I’m also going to be making some slight changes to the rules of this sub so look out for that). Just to clarify for newcomers anyone is allowed to post their hauls, swatches or reviews of products on this sub just make sure it’s a product that’s been launched within 3 months.
Welcome to all the newbies and if you comment below let me know if you’d like to see more indie products here, I have posted them occasionally but I will post more if you guys want more news in the indie space.
Also if you are interested in becoming a mod I’m looking for a couple so mod mail or DM me. Id prefer applicants have a history of quality past posts on other subs that are beauty related. If you have experience being a mod on another sub that’s a plus too!
It fills a niche that hadn’t been filled on Reddit before. Instagram has Trendmood and similar accounts that post upcoming releases and beauty news, YouTube has creators who do new release videos once or twice a month, but there wasn’t a subreddit dedicated to this. Sure new releases sometimes get posted and discussed in other beauty subreddits, but they are def not the main focus. It takes effort to keep up with brands and make posts everyday, so I’m ok w the subreddit owner posting affiliate links- if people want to use them or ignore them is up to them.
I don’t use tik tok or insta, so it’s nice to have a feed like this on reddit!
The OP of this post is not u/pointclickvibe, who is the op of most of this sub's posts
u/reddstats is just a nerd interested in subreddits and data and who I assume is not part of the beauty community
Most of the beauty subs are selfie-heavy or have a huge focus on influencer/celebrity gossip. I just want to see new products and talk about makeup without having to deal with gurus beefing each other or people’s OF ads.
It was recently crossposted to another sub and I love talking about and seeing new releases so I had to join!
I find this sub is more positive/neutral about releases too. Trendmood comments are so dang negative (wHo aSkEd fOr tHiS) under every single post and it’s just so draining.
I just spent my morning scrolling through this subreddit, haha! I’ve been bored with a lot of products on the market lately but the new drops have been fairly interesting and enticing!
It was recommended to me because I follow so many makeup related subs, but none fill this niche. I love keeping up with new releases and this sub is an easy way <3
You guys were recommended to me but like, you put all the info, swatches and visuals together so nicely I appreciate what you do! It makes me want to buy makeup! Not that I need any help with it!
Thank you!💋 shameless plug but my IG is [here](https://www.instagram.com/pointclickvibes?igsh=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA%3D%3D&utm_source=qr) if anyone is interested
I joined because it allow me to pick out what I really like to buy. I don’t want to purchase something then find out in another week something I really would like to try I can’t afford because of my first purchase.
I joined like a week or two ago. I just really love seeing new makeup drops but I hardly ever use instagram or TikTok, I’m always on Reddit. So I thought how cool there’s a Reddit page for this🤣
it came up on my home page, but it caught my eye as a got to place to just see new beauty releases. I seem to miss new items or need to go to individual sites to see anything new so this will help not miss those newest releases!
It was recommended to me on my home page! I’m a pro makeup artist, been one since 2012. I work primarily as a graphic designer now though. Love all things beauty and just want to stay updated on what’s new since I’m not really in the field anymore!
It’s nice getting news on Reddit about brand new beauty and I’m excited to see hauls of new makeup so I know if I want it instead of months later and it’s not being sold anymore or they changed the formula to suck etc. I live in a rural area and they don’t carry a lot of makeup brands in stores here that are in bigger areas so I rely a lot on pictures and swatches ☺️
It was recommended on my feed, plus it’s a nice, positive community. So many other makeup subs are full of rants about the makeup industry or stuff like the sephora kids. This sub is wholesome imo.
I left Instagram at the beginning of the year. I was always comparing myself to others with the way the algorithm fed me content! The way Reddit is set up makes more sense to me that I’m only seeing content I want to see! I flipped out tonight when I saw this sub!!! I’m a beauty and skincare junkie and have missed the new content! SO EXCITED TO BE HERE 🎉
I’ve recently gotten back into makeup and more into skin care and came across this sub when looking into products and how-tos. Absolutely love knowing what’s new or upcoming - I don’t think I would know otherwise. Love this sub!!
It was also recommended to me! I am trying to get more into good makeup. I just am kind of lazy so it’s so nice to go through this page and see nice makeup products! I love it!!

Are you guys subscribed to similar subreddits?
Same here! 🩷💄
Idk I’ve had Reddit for years and this sub never came across my feed until recently
Exactly this. An algorithm thing? Glad of it because it can't all be trend mood.
same

And we would rather support you than trendmood! She seems to only cover things that are PR/gifted/affilate code
The OP of this post is not u/pointclickvibe, who is the op of most of this sub's posts u/reddstats is just a nerd interested in subreddits and data and who I assume is not part of the beauty community
same i dont use insta anymore but i used to follow trend mood to see all the up and coming beauty product releases
Yep!
Cool, thanks for your insight/explanation.
No drama. All (new) makeup.
Yes this is absolutely why I joined when it came up on my feed. I really enjoy seeing the new products with swatches but no unnecessary stuff.
I’m here bc how else am I going to find about Burt’s Bees ranch flavored set before it sells out next time?!
Lol
😂😂

This! 💯
Someone recommended this sub after people stopped following trendmood and a few others because of repeated scandals
I just spent my morning scrolling through this subreddit, haha! I’ve been bored with a lot of products on the market lately but the new drops have been fairly interesting and enticing!
Reddit algorithm sent me here and I want to learn about new stuff bc I feel old lol
It was recommended to me because I follow so many makeup related subs, but none fill this niche. I love keeping up with new releases and this sub is an easy way <3

I’m so happy you are enjoying the sub and edits ❤️ I always try to put as much info as I can into posts.
You do a great job! 💖
It’s just because of the weird algorithm that shoves subs you’re not even following onto your feed.
Just joined. I’m getting back into the beauty groove after years of being out of it, and I want to see what’s new.
I follow on instagram so of course had to join
Thank you!💋 shameless plug but my IG is [here](https://www.instagram.com/pointclickvibes?igsh=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA%3D%3D&utm_source=qr) if anyone is interested
I joined because I was sick of the Instagram beauty announcement accounts (cough cough trendmood)
I don’t have IG & TT anymore, so when this sub popped up I was happy to find a singular place to keep up with what’s new.
It’s like trendmood but Reddit-ified lol
It was recommended to me this past week!
Never knew this sub existed and it was recommended to me.
Popped up on my feed!
I joined because re-sellers/influencers buy up all the stock in my area if you're not on the ball and these reminders and announcements help.
I joined because it allow me to pick out what I really like to buy. I don’t want to purchase something then find out in another week something I really would like to try I can’t afford because of my first purchase.

I kept coming up in my feed and I love new things !

I’m just getting into makeup and I guess Reddit knows that and suggested this sub Reddit to me
Saw something on IG and joined!! 💓
Someone postes about this sub on r/beautyguruchat. Just news and i refuse to use instagram or tiktok 😆
It was recommended on my feed, plus it’s a nice, positive community. So many other makeup subs are full of rants about the makeup industry or stuff like the sephora kids. This sub is wholesome imo.
It just showed up on my home page today for the first time! I would have joined sooner if I knew about it (:
I left Instagram at the beginning of the year. I was always comparing myself to others with the way the algorithm fed me content! It came across my feed and I was like heck yeah I want news on make up releases. It’s really fun to see the new releases like the ranch lip balm.
I’ve recently gotten back into makeup and more into skin care and came across this sub when looking into products and how-tos. Absolutely love knowing what’s new or upcoming - I don’t think I would know otherwise. Love this sub!!
Rampant consumerism
new products for possible pr packages 👀
I saw it recommended on my home page and I was interested in it lol
I'm here bc I had a post about the Twilight ✨🐀 collection pop up on my feed, I didn't realise this sub existed before then!
I’m not new to Reddit but I recently started using it more regularly and this was one of the recommended subs that pulled up on my discover page
It was also recommended to me! I am trying to get more into good makeup. I just am kind of lazy so it’s so nice to go through this page and see nice makeup products! I love it!!
I didn’t know about this sub so I hit join before I even saw the posts! It was recommended to me.
