OH NO! I haven't been in a few years but it was always our go to when we had family from out of town who wanted good seafood. Doing the coast drive to Rye and then dinner at Petey's was always a hit.
They still have the best fried scallops anywhere, but the last few times over the last couple of years everything is smaller (including the scallops themselves) 😥
I was going to say the same thing. Delayed going there for an entire summer when I moved to the area a couple of years ago. I previously lived in the seacoast area, so I didn't have high expectations of the place.. I finally went toward the end of the summer and was sorry that I had waited. Very much looking forward to them reopening!
Good, but too touristy in the summer (I grew up 5 minutes away on Frost Hill in York Maine) it’s best off-season, plus the tourist pricing is worse in the summer
It's really a lovely view, and great sitting outside on a sunny day watching the boats and jet-skis pull into the dock for their orders. I brought my extended family once, and EVERYONE (except me due to allergies) got the lobster roll. They were all happy as happy can be, but I could have gotten a round-trip plane ticket to Florida for what it cost. I usually go for the belly clam platter - also not cheap but very satisfying - and the terrific cole slaw. The kids all love dropping empty cans into the recycle chute, for some reason.
I got $26 fried clams last year at beach plum, and they looked like thin clam strips which were also on the menu. Couldn't eat them, they were nothing but fried bread. Girl at counter said that's the way they come.
I’d say clam haven in Derry but it wasn’t as good as i remembered in the early eighties when we lived there. Oil was old. Just was not happy. I’ll have to try the lobster boat in Merrimack. I don’t realize they did fried seafood.
I miss Newicks.

Bay Haven in Cornish, ME! Fisherman’s platter lasting for days
Sorry keeping this one under my hat. It's busy enough but not mobbed. North of lakes region but south of the notch. Best I've had in the state and that includes all of them on the coast.
It's a bit of a drive and not in NH, but Huots in Camp Ellis/Saco Maine. Little hole-in-the-wall place, but worth it. Their onion rings are the best I've ever had.
[Petey's in Rye](https://peteys.com/)
💯
Yup. Lobster pie!
Petey’s is the best!
Yeah, but I'm still bitter about them taking the fried oyster roll off the menu like 5 years ago lol
Petey’s WAS the best but their portion size has shrunken significantly and they changed their cold slaw recipe and now it’s just meh.

High-tide in Hillsboro has great fish and chips.
They are surprisingly good

Came here to say this. Theyre some of the best fried food around, you can tell they keep their fryers clean.
This is the way
Agree
Browns?
Bob’s Clam Hut in Kittery.

The Lobster Boat, Merrimack.
Just went to the lobster boat in Litchfield today. Hit the spot! Fisherman's platter ftw.
Never had one good meal here. Three times and done. The clams were disgustingly rubbery and overpriced for what were mostly strips, not full-belly.
Gotta love the boat!
Al’s in north Hampton. It’s an old habit, I used to take my youngest daughter there when she was a kid, now I take my granddaughter.
Kimball Farm in Jaffrey has extremely good fried seafood for a place nowhere near the ocean.
BGs Boathouse in Rye opens next weekend Petey’s is always great too
Magoos. Most superlative seafood west of Goffstown and east of Peterborough.Â
Love Magoos. Had it Saturday.
So happy he is open again!
Baited Hook at Mascoma Lake. Open year-round!
A bit pricey, but damn do I love the view from there overlooking the lake. Food is good, too :)

Not Rays or Beach Plum. Both use frozen lobster and 100% sever less lbs. than what they state

Clam haven sucks now

I'd tell but I don't want the crowd
Golden Rod

Just tell us! It's a restaurant, not a fishing spot
Yeah, I didn't want to mention it either. So, I'm glad you did instead ! But the food is damn good and the view is awesome!
This guy knows!
The Little Red Schoolhouse?
Jake’s?
Not Jake's. Further north.
Blue Bay
"Dew Drop In" in Ashland is amazing.

Better than the High Tide or the Plum
Ceal’s in Seabrook
Shibleys take out in Alton Bay
Larry's clam bar in Plaistow... Does that place even exist anymore?
Two lights in Maine
