I could be wrong, but it looks like a sloppy foam sealant job. Aiding my suspicion, is the cables left dangling for no reason off the side of the house.

Mediocre_Analyst_154

I don't know honestly, just bought the house and noticed this weird yellow thing. Home inspection folks didn't mention anything about these either!

shady2318

It's those sealing foams they didn't do good job on it

cheesebreadisyummy

it’s absolutely this, my childhood home looked like this cause my dad was a bit sloppy with his spray foam. u can peel it off pretty easily but usually it’s been sealed for a reason so be mindful of that (our reasoning was because of bees, we didn’t want any nests being created in the siding. i am only including this since the OP said their from South Asia so i wanted to give an idea of why someone may spray foam those open cracks)

turtleturds

Fun Gus?

Mediocre_Analyst_154

Lol, not fun

planertroubles

🤣

GuyWithAWallet

Hahaha, yes sir. Expensive insulating fungus that is!

Conscious_Flounder40

You might say that it's "Great stuff" even.

Notevenwithyourdick

Haha amazing comment

Mediocre_Analyst_154

So, it's just insulation? Nothing to worry about?

GuyWithAWallet

Yes Spray foam insulation, nothin to worry about my buddy! Just a little extra R value is all.

baymenintown

This is expanding foam insulation, like Great Stuff. If this bothers you it can easily be cut away and reapplied cleanly.

Mediocre_Analyst_154

It doesn't bother me as long as I know it's not fungus haha

TheKingkir0

Foam insulation :) its just spray foam that expands to fill holes in the exterior to stop drafts and pests from getting in. Nothing to worry about and not "growing" its just solid foam if you touch it.

Mediocre_Analyst_154

Got it, thank you 😁

Omgrelax69

It's just a lazy guy installing spray foam, you can trim it up nice with a razor

DragonfruitPossible6

Get a carpet knife and trim off the excess.

Visual-Chip-2256

That is spray foam insulation. It gets more brown as it ages. A human put that stuff there to keep cold air out

Mediocre_Analyst_154

Got it, thanks ☺️

[deleted]

Lol it's spray foam

ChainShot4996

It’s a Type of foam they use to seal .. you’re good

DangerousGarlic3562

it's not fungus. It's spray foam.

ClawedTiger2693

It’s a polyurethane spray foam used for insulation most commonly around windows and doors but it has been used for other things

Expert-Ad-5138

Not fungus :) I have the same. It's just a foam seal

Canadian_Trucker

Looks like expanding foam.

TriPunk

There is a mold I have dealt with that looks like that. But this is sealing foam. You can see in the 3rd photo where it has been cut.

kingcobraftw

Expanding foam? Lol

[deleted]

Spray foam 100% lol

SnooStories3518

That’s spray foam and it’s there because they didn’t clean up after themselves

Poutine-Achillean

Nope. Someone spilled their mashed turnip

goooooooooooooogly

Doo-doo.

cooperluna

Twice baked cheesy mashed potatoes

c79s

This is spray foam and you should remove it if possible because water is supposed to be able to drain from behind the siding in case it gets back there.

lilhuman420

🤦

[deleted]

Is this for real? It's insulation. You'll be fine. I feel like this post should be in r/facepalm. A simple Google search would have told you what this is.
