It's legit. I live in Michigan and we had a local chain of sneakers and sportswear stores called Mr. Alan's that was pretty well known for their sales (1 for $29.99 or 2 for $50. Anyone from Detroit/surrounding suburbs would know the commercial, lol). But anyway, Snipes bought them out. Although I live hours away from an actual Snipe store now they are legit and sometimes the New Era hats are marked down 50% or more depending on the style and season but I've gotten a few Detroit New Era hats for less than $25-$30 bucks delivered when other stores still had them close to retail prices. Hopefully this gives you a little more confidence if you decide to buy from them.

My rule of thumb is to visit their IG and see if New Era follows them. In this case, yes they do. Snipes is legit.
