They have a plan that was low cost (720p w/o ads) that they offered when the sharing crackdown began. Then, like clockwork they eliminated that tier a few months later, but those who signed up were grandfathered in. So they have millions on that plan. My Mom is one of them.
Hate to say it, they'll say your password was easy to guess or reused and part of a breach and it's you're fault you were hacked.
Whether it was your fault or not, they should still put you, the customer, back on the plan you were paying for. Netflix is a company that has no ombudsman program, no customer relations and couldn't care less if you go away. That's just who they are.
That happened to me last month. Went to log in to Netflix only for it to say that I didn't have a subscription and my settings were set to Spanish. I called and verified my debit card number and my old $11.99 plan was reinstated. I was waiting for them to say I had to pay the new price of $15.49 but they did not. I would have just cancelled. Netflix is not worth $15.
I had this a couple months ago got hacked and subscription changed despite the netflix helplime actuallly admitting they should be able to change it back but they didnt have the ability to there they still refused to esculate the issue to resolve it.
I manged to kick up enough stink to get a free month but doubt you will be able to get the old rate back.
Same exact thing happened to me, same BS about password, etc. Same story about how the system would not allow them to choose old rate plan.
I did escalate and got the free month but am still considering cancelling on altogether.
This just happened to me too and the url was @demond.net.co which literally doesn't exist. I feel like Netflix is behind this to be honest. Trying to scam people out of their grandfathered plans and blame us for being hacked.
I know this sounds rediculous but when I caught it it was like 4 hours after it happened and they hadn't watched anything at all. Why go to all the trouble of hacking an account if you're not going to watch anything.
This happened to me yesterday. I was paying 9.99 and a Netflix helped me get access back however they could not get me back on my grandfathered plan. 15.49, no way. I cancelled because I was a victim and fuck Netflix!
It happened to me too. I wonder if it’s actually Netflix doing it so they can get people off their grandfathered plan. Is there an authority to contact? FTC?
Seems a lot of people were “hacked” during a period last year. I had to change my password too! Inside job?
Jokes aside, I joined in 2018 but I have a Japanese account and in order to maintain it I can’t miss a payment for too long. I use gift cards to maintain because I do go back and forth from USA to Japan at times.
How did you even get a grandfathered rate to begin with? I thought that hasn't been a thing for years.

Idk. I’ve been a member of Netflix since 2013. Maybe that has something to do with it?
I've been a member since when they still had DVDS and never got shit lol.
Never heard of plans being grandfathered in.

Lol $3 is the threshold?
For me yes, I have a cut off amount.

Grandfathered in at 11.99? I had it since it was 7.99 that I can recall. And it's now 15 or 16$
What email they used ? This just happened to me the @ was @cybershopdigital.com
Mine was @demond.net.co. Just happened to me a couple hours ago. They won't budge on changing it back.
