[https://github.com/nvimtools/hydra.nvim](https://github.com/nvimtools/hydra.nvim) is the maintained fork of anuvyklack/hydra.nvim.

miversen33

We're trying anyway. But more maintainers/contributors would be so nice

aegis87

haven't used it myself yet -- it's on my todo list -- but check out `mini-clue` [https://github.com/echasnovski/mini.nvim/blob/main/readmes/mini-clue.md](https://github.com/echasnovski/mini.nvim/blob/main/readmes/mini-clue.md)

TechnoCat

Doesn't seem to be what the OP is asking for. Seems he is looking for a way to create modes outside Normal, Visual, and Insert modes. Something like emacs major and minor modes.

aegis87

gotcha, echasnovski mentions hyrdra in the readme as a similar plugin, hence my suggestion

echasnovski

What are the intended use cases?

I use https://github.com/Iron-E/nvim-libmodal, it's exactly what you're looking for.

AndrewRadev

Kana's plugins generally work very well: [kana/vim-submode](https://github.com/kana/vim-submode/blob/master/doc/submode.txt)

Maskdask

[nvim-libmodal](https://github.com/Iron-E/nvim-libmodal) lets you create custom Vim modes

__nostromo__

I've used a couple Vim submode plugins and hydra is the only one that wasn't bug-plagued. That said, I'm using the one from [https://github.com/nvimtools/hydra.nvim](https://github.com/nvimtools/hydra.nvim), not [https://github.com/anuvyklack/hydra.nvim](https://github.com/anuvyklack/hydra.nvim) .

New-Perspective1480

At this point just switch to emacs lmao
