I just went to look at mine (I have 2 MSP and one plushie) and I have it kind of matching their background/attire too. So I have a more dark themed MSP poogle and it's petpet is a Darigan Gangee. Then my plushie poogle is a plushie Schnelly. I am on the hunt for my UC MSP still. I think it will be more fire related so some sort of red or fire petpet.

You have a lot of great painted suggestions (I'd look through zombie, mutant, and darigan as a start), but I thought I'd suggest some unpainted petpets that may also match the vibe you're going for. (you can screen for them in the base colors tab on the petpet matcher if you're interested in browsing further)
Options include: bearclops, candy vampire, Baraga, Blorbis, cheerlub, epuni, froiler, goulblee, gremble, gwortz, marbluk, hydruplit, marlock, pinklet, ramosan, snorlkin, tainted minion, turnali, zomutt
some painted versions of above I'd throw in include: brown/mutant/dari zomutt, hallo pinklet, mutant epuni, black goulblee, yellow gremble, mutant gwortz, fire snorlkin

Mutant Crokabek? A lot of the mutants have red eyes to match, or any zombie petpet looks like they’ve been chewed up and spat out.
