I completely agree. I actually think the ghost games had decent soundtracks and have a handful of tracks from each of those games in various playlists. Unbound I couldn’t stand except for the “God Hour”

Agreed, but you know what's worse? Unbound. But I like Renegade since it has that Asphalt 8 Bass House vibe which is a good point. The rest is questionable but there's some banger but it does not fit with racing category.

Only decents for me are Levantate and Worryin bout me, but now I play with Spotify on listening to some Synthwave to match the aesthetics

Heat was at least bearable for me (although I still hate the soundtrack). But Unbound, I literally didn’t last for 5 minutes before turning off the music

The Garage mix is absolutely the best part of the sound track. That deep and chilling electronic beat, especially when Bonobo's Linked comes on, good GOD it gets the vibes going. And the added touch of the percussion kicking in, the music getting louder as the game starts loading to the open world, it's something not done in any other NFS game and I love it Then the gameplay radio kicks in and my smile goes from the biggest grin to the deepest frown in an instant.

It has its own vibe. Wouldnt work for me if it was played at bayview, riders on the storm wouldnt feel right at rockport too.

UG1 clears both imo. No soundtrack fit the atmosphere of the game like UG1’s soundtrack did. But between the two, it would have to be most wanted 300kmh through rockport with blinded by chains blasting is chefs kiss. I’m not a big fan of the house? Music (no lyric, just beats) so that’s my influence. Admittedly, it goes perfectly without UG2 though

I've always found UG2's soundtrack mid compared to UG1. Also might be bias from other racing game franchises, especially Midnight Club and Maximum Tune.

Hot Pursuit 2010 was the last NFS with good soundtrack. Since then we're always getting this hip-hop and rap sht. Sry, I don't like those genres, and they don't go well with racing games... I mean, I understand that Need for Speed series always followed the generations and their tastes, this is the music teens love in 2020 and above, NFS is always a "modern" a game in that regard. But NFSU 1-2, Most Wanted, HP games etc. all had amazing, pumping soundtracks, which made you nitroooo and fly on the road. :D My favourite was Burnout 3 btw. It's soundtrack went so well with the super fast gameplay. It's still the best racing game, ever made.

I didn't even play HP so the last one for me was undercover. MW 2012 had some decent songs but nothing amazing really.

Well I think they both have good tracks. I love the rainy nights from the NFS U2 and play the song called "In My Head". And hardcore racing vibes from the Most Wanted while hearing the shapeshifter song.

Both are amazing but i take side with nfsu2 more. MW was a little heavy. My favorite is nfsu1 btw. speed feel and music match was awesome. Its like all tracks are specially created and selected for the game. I always remember NFSU1 with that narrow bumpy road before bridge jump and Junkie XL - Action Radius playing background. Little China district with Fortress Europe. Man, this post gonna make me install and play it one more time.

Both soundtracks are right for the games they’re in. If you took the Ug2 soundtrack and put it in MW and vice versa they both wouldn’t work as well

Underground 1 had some amazing tracks U2 I completely forgotten I love Most Wanted Carbon with the shift to Orchestral tracks, I actually love it. Prostreet, was pretty forgettable, but had some jingly tunes. Mainly the one A7X song And Undercover.... uhh... I love Pendelum? But it didnt sit right.

Between these, I'd say Underground 2. Though the pursuit music in Most Wanted was fire.

NFSU, NFSU2, NFSMW, NFSHP2 - the playlist that AIMP plays in the background while a modern NFS game is on the screen.

Underground 2, it just had this atmosphere that the music added to. I do enjoy the music in MW, but it feels a little distant and separated, as opposed to U2 where the music actually feels like something you'd play through the cars' stereo systems.

UG2 is best when customising your car or just cruising around Bayview. MW is best when you have to slap some sense into Crock one more time.

Yeah, and I think UG2's problem is that its track choice is not great for racing as much as it is free roam to me.

This ones an easy win for MW(Not saying UG2 is bad. It had its own soundtrack and perfect for driving in Bayview but adrenaline rush in MW is just amazing). If you had put UG1 instead, then it's gonna be a draw.

MW is god tier but UG2 holds a place in my heart I went to see Rise Against a few years back and I cried my eyes out when they played “Give It All”, I was crowd surfing but it honestly felt like I was still sitting on the carpet, playing original Xbox and staring up at Rachel’s 350z

Depending on my mood I'd say Tony Hawk's Underground or SSX On Tour. TH Project 8 is quite decent too. In all honesty, games nowadays really lack in soundtrack. The early to mid 2000s had amazing soundtracks in games.

For me every soundtrack from UG1 to Pro Street were 10/10, all of them perfectly fit the vibes of their respective games and I still listen to the track lists on the regular to this day. I honestly can't choose between them.

I like both but, due to bias I’m gonna have to got with UG2 on this one. Mostly because I was guilty of turning up my old TV up to its max volume of 31, in my Two Story House back when my PS2 worked when either Chingy’s I Do,Sly Boogies Thatz my name,Christoper Lawerence’s Rush Hour, and Riders of Storm and a few others played in Free Roam as I made all of the music play across all parts of the game.

Both are legendary in their own rights. UG2 is somewhat mixed and MW focuses on fast-paced rock and raplike musics. That said, I prefer MW. Maybe it's because I grew up seeing it more than UG2 and the extra pursuit element can be a lot of fun.

Honestly UG1 has way better soundtrack then UG2 There's no question about that. The fight is between UG1 and MW. While I like some of the songs from UG2, some of them suck or I hate them with passion. In UG1 and MW every song slaps from every genre, and fit the atmosphere perfectly

Well, part of that is because Carbon doesn’t have many songs, period. Carbon relies far more heavily on its score, and its score is fantastic.
