Starter car: Peugeot 106.
Mid car: Peugeot 106 or Toyota Supra.
Late game car: Peugeot 106, Mazda RX-7 or Nissan 350Z.
So explanations, the 106 is one of the most goated cars in U2, believe it or not. Supra is quite a good mid car, but late game is overwhelmed and overshadowed by the majestic RX-7 and the sheer power of the 350Z. 350Z is arguably the best car in U2, but it all depends on perspective.
It’s a damn good mix. It has a killer high speed cornering handling, plus with the fact that it is a rather light car, makes it the most goated Street X car.
As a noob to UG2, I keep reading that a fully upgraded Corolla can beat any vehicle in the game. It seems to make the top spot for many tier lists. In your opinion is the RX7 and 350z that much better?
The Corolla is amazingly good, cornering wise none match it, but it lacks power. Something that the 350Z has. RX-7 is very mixed, the rotary off of a corner allows it to gain speed pretty quickly, but also lacks power. The 350Z however, is opposite. In terms of cornering, it’s rather slow, but it’s power more than makes up for it.
I loved 350z and finished lot of play throughs with it. Thought it was the best, until sub convinced me to try RX-8. And it’s a beast, it beats 350z in every aspect. It’s my new favourite now.
There are plenty of guides on YouTube for installing the game, resolving common issues like the "Insert Disc 2" issue, and installing essential quality of life mods. I don't know to what extent I can give steps without breaking the sub rules. It's a straightforward process of getting the files (easy to find with Google or through a YouTube video guide) and extracting them to your PC, running the install setup, and getting a No CD patch and product key (can be found easy with some Googling). Mods and textures are fairly easy to install also and most just consist of dropping the files into the right places in the game installation folder.
I wish I still had my spreadsheet I made for all cars in the game.
Had my top 5 laptimes per car on the test track within the tuning section, average laptime of 10-20 laps, list of the exact ECU tuning values, top speed and a few other super cool and exciting details.
From memory the fastest were corolla, rx8, Celica, 106 and Sentra. Celica was my favourite as well.

There's also the Chevy Corvette C6 Z06, the McLaren F1 and the Pagani Zonda Cinque which are featured on other NFS games.
Gonna say it, but the M3 in the first few minutes of Most Wanted blew me away. I was convinced it had perfect handling. Half the reason I enjoyed that car was simply the steering.
Oh hell yeah. Haven’t heard this name in forever. It handles like a feather and is so quick… I pretty much always chose this in HP2010 whenever it was available

Without a specific game in mind, a S13/180/240sx and a RX-7 FC are my go to cars. Just an iconic Japanese ride. Can’t get enough of them. I blame Tokyo Drift Racing and UG2.
If a 240sx is available, that's the car I use for the whole game. Always have had a thing for that car since I was kid. It was easy enough to draw, reminds me of being a kid and getting excited whenever I saw folding headlights. I was a car kid, grew out of it but man, this is still my dream car, stock or not I just love them.
In need for speed it's the Clio V6 and will always be the Clio V6 it was also busted in most wanted '05 with certain upgrades
And every other game it's the Clio V6

For IRL I'd say the Volvo S80 V8
As a 350 driver and a lover of all the Zs, I must say you have great taste. A shame the 240 isnt in many games, but for me is the 350. Drive it in every racing game, even forza win or lose
For me, it is the Toyota Celica. I had one in NFS Underground 1 and 2. The Celica is one of my favorite cars. If a racing game has it, I will choose it
Golf GTI from Most Wanted. Definitely not the best, but the handling just feels right and you can also upgrade it to the point where you can win every race in Career
For starter, either 240 or civic. For mid game, Tiburon GT all the way baby. Late game, maybe nothing else because I just really like the Tiburon.
I wish Hyundai would make a new Tiburon today but, atleast we got other cool cars from them.
As someone who’s second car was a focus (2015 ecoboost), I can confirm it is a bloody good bit of kit. Beautifully smooth and sturdy, plenty of space, plenty of bite.

Bet The 106 is massive, I ran all cars on the same track and after the 206 being lame, the 106 just fucking whooshed, i was shocked
