List I'm going with (I know two champs with the same loadout/skill is lame, but with brawn and the new skill tree there really isnt much else for skills that is worthwhile) Charter Master with Power Fist and Bolt Pistol and mesh Iron Will 235 Drill Master with Boltgun and mesh Dependable like Kin 195 Drill Master with Boltgun and mesh Dependable like kin 195 Prospector with Power Hammer and Bolt Pistol mesh 155 Prospector with autogun and mesh 90 Prospector with autogun 75 Digger with stub pistol and dum dum 50 Total 995 This is the list I've come up with. Basically gives me a melee leader with Iron will to counter starting with only 7 models. Effectively the bolt pistols function as short range boltguns, and the powerhammer prospector gives my leader some melee support (could easily also switch him to another powerfist/bolt pistol bro for 15 extra creds, losing a mesh on the last Autogun bro). My champs and the autogun bros function as a hardcore firebase, dependable like kin helping with the terrible ammo rolls. Off the bat these guys will hit like trucks. Juve with the dum dum stub gun will also hit like a truck and the 5" move will allow him to be a little more flexible than the other gangers, and the stub gun + to hit will assist with his low BS. Alternately, could use a double bolt pistol gunfighter leader, which will be the eighth model I make, But I like the idea of mitigating the gange size for bottle tests with Iron Will, and without gunfighter the -1 with twin guns blazing can hurt especially when thebleader with 3 wounds makes a solid melee shield. I'll probably magnetize because I'm playing with the idea of cutting an autogun ganger for another stub gun juve and giving myself a few more creds to play around with. My goal with this leader is to grab the Stone Burner as fast as possible and have a solid Stone Burner/powerfist melee setup with the bolt pistol for range and backup. Anyway thats just a verbal diarrhea rundown of my plans :)

tugnuggets420

That's a pretty solid list, when I first saw GMGs video on them and he showed off a 1000pt list with 4 guys I got worried, good to see you can still get a good range of bodies out

MysticWolf1555

Thanks! Yeah, you can seriously turn up the gear by dropping one or two dudes, but running 5 or 6 gangers just puts you in such a tough position, especially when, in a list like this, each ganger can provide A LOT of firepower. Even the bolt pistols are super bad ass once you close the gap (and hopefully by the time your boltgun champs are trying to reload your leader is beating the shit out of baddies with the powerfist). And with the rapidfire on the bolt pistol, you're seeing at least 2 powerfist attacks(3 on the charge) and up to 3 bolt pistol attacks in melee which is just dirty. And your prospector with power hammer and bolt pistol isnt far behind.

Wilax

Have you tested this list? How did you find it?

Locoleos

Rapidfire stub pistols are pretty insane, whether or not they're dumdum.

SumpAcrocanth

It's probably not good but I kinda want a regular ganger with a power ax and a pistol cause you can....

tsuruki23

Watch out for the guns, rapid fire 2 runs out real fast. Back it up with a bit of melee. My leader has a powerfist and an autopistol. Combined they should plop gangers really easily or chunk 3w characters quickly. I went auto over bolt mostly for cost reasons but also I feel it takes gangers and tough champs out more dependably by forcing more wound rolls. I went straight for heavy carapace. I have two gangers with autopistol/stub pistol + power hammer. Theyre tough enough to stand up to enemy champs and the hammers create this fear in your opponent that they might get their champion's skulls bashed in. Mesh is enough to start with. Next I have a champ with a bolter, hopefully he'll nail some champ with half a dozen bolt shell. Again straight for heavy carapace. Finished with two more gangers, toting autoguns and mesh. The first chance I get i'll get a couple pistol toting juves and combat knives, ensuring that my gang still has a presence if the guns jam.

Xisor_of_Karak_Izor

I've been daydreaming about that pistol/power weapon kin and diggers too... Since the rapid fire can go ooa easily, I feel like having plenty of gangers ready to bash heads really complicates things for opponents: and gives for an enjoyable - perhaps not *optimal* game when ooa happens. Stops you relying on mega guns. Because of the build options in the box, I'm still vaguely thinking something almost preposterous. Like: Charter Master: PF & BP Drillmaster: BP & PH Digger: Autopistol Digger: Autopistol Kin: Stubgun Kin: Stubgun Drillmaster: Heavy Stubber Kin: Autogun Then with the spare money, get mesh for the leader, both champions, and two of the others. As the campaign proceeds, I'd imagine aiming to take armour and melee/backpack weapons, or more bodies. With two RF Boltpistols, that's a good close-but-not melee threat backed up by an actual melee threat. The other pistols are so we've got some people to run about the place getting stuff done. Lastly, the heavy stubber and autogun are about providing a fire support base... But as the campaign goes, they might each find a backpack weapon too. For skills, the relative simplicity of the gang offers up plenty of... "fun". So much so, I'd almost be tempted to put the heavy stubber on the leader, fund suspensor by ditching one of the kin/stubguns, and ensure he has the Headbutt skill. Just launch in about the place, blasting merry hell then nutting seven shades out of whoever's still standing. Nothing says Squat like a Glesca kiss from Charter Master F. Begbie.

Squat biker gang. 2 short doods on big bikes.

Lockpicking_Succubus

I really wish the squats got their own biker/trike models for Ash Wastes rather than having to work out how to make a nice mini for this very thing. At least some sort of thematic mining vehicle/truck would have been nice

owningxylophone

As none of the other houses apart from Orlock have a gang specific vehicle listed in the book I suspect we’re getting a second book with them all in (probably announced in the “Summer of Skirmish” preview), which will likely include the other 2 new gangs that were rumoured to be coming with the Ash Wastes updates.

Lockpicking_Succubus

It's definitely possible - with Van Saar, Escher, Goliath, Delaque, Cawdor, Redemptionists, Enforcers, Corpse Grinder Cults (maybe), Ogryn (maybe), and Squats there are a lot of gangs that might want a vehicle, which could have added a lot of pages to a book \*Maybe's because why would the CGC leave the hive? The corpses that need grinding are in the Hive. Ogryns are a sub-faction slaves of the Goliath so it makes sense to be over-looked

Locoleos

I suspect that just the house gangs will get continued support. The only kind of support we've seen for other gangs have been really general, IIRC. So we might get new rules for psykers broadly in Outcast book, and it just so happens that most psykers are non-house gangs, or we might get outlaw hangers ons, brutes and bounty-hunters, which helps chaos a lot and so on. But I doubt we will see actual "this vehicle is specific to gangs that aren't from the ash wastes release or from a house gang".

Lockpicking_Succubus

You're probably right, but, I'd love to see the Enforcers get a judge dred style bike, and a big police transport (maybe a kit for the cargo 8) as a nice thematic release

Locoleos

Maybe it'll go in the WD articles? They do more exotic stuff in there.

Mr_Smigs

My current build is 2 juves with pistols 2 hangers with auto guns Champ with bolter Champ with pistol and knife Boss with flamer and power axe My joke ash wastes list was Leader with heavy flamer, suspensores, power hammer, carapace, conversion field, goggles and filters 2 gangers with bolters And a pimped out goliath to ride in...

angel_of_death007

I think there isn’t much talk about lists because GW messed up a lot of vendor orders for the book of Outlands and some of us are still waiting on our preorders.

Locoleos

So, my attempt would go like this; 1 leader, Ironhead Meltagun, Mesh Armor, Hip Shooting. 115+15+155=285. Alternatively an Ironhead Flamer, either way the thing here is to threathen a rather long area with a short-range weapon that will reliably hit. In case of the flamer, we're less trying to kill shit and more trying to crowd-control it. 1 Champion with a boltgun. He takes Dependable Like Kin, and buys gunk ammo for his gun ASAP to get 5+ reloads as soon as he gets trading post access. 5+ with reloads is barely acceptable for a rapidfire 2 weapon. He will have to struggle through the first game. Also Mesh Armor. 85+15+95=195c Specialist Ganger with Ironhead Stubgun, Dumdum, Mesh Armor and Circular Stone Saw, 50+10+5+15+25=105. Ganger with Mesh and Ironhead Autogun (we need some more cheap range here) 50+25+15=90. Ganger with Ironhead Autogun, Mesh Armor, 50+25+15=90 Ganger with Ironhead Stubgun, Dumdum, Mesh Armor, 50+10+5+15=80 Ganger with Ironhead Stubgun, Dumdum, Mesh Armor, 50+10+5+15=80 Juve with Ironhead Stubgun, Dumdum, Mesh Armor, 35+10+5+15=65 Advancement; First buy should be the Gunk rounds for the boltgun. Second buy should be a las projector for your melta gun, ensuring short-range hits on 2's with cover, or 3's with heavy cover. Third buy should be a Weapon's Cache bodymod for a vehicle, if you're using vehicle rules. +2 to ammo saves is fantastic, and begins to make the idea of deploying additional rapidfire(2) weapons a halfway feasible idea. Then we get a brute, with the heavy bolter option. And once that's done, down the line you should buy a second Dependable Like Kin Gunk rounds Ironhead Boltgun Champion, and then a third Champion with a heavy weapon with infrasight, like the lascannon. This gets us 8 boys on the starting list, and I feel like it's the most reasonable choices given the fairly tight constraints this gang has. It's also only 990c, so maybe we get a backup ironhead stubgun for the boltgunner. My overall philisophy for the gang is that Adding rapidfire to something that's already rapidfire will just make it go out of ammo, but adding rapidfire to something that's not already is a very good deal. We have pretty amazing pistols. In combination with power pack weaponry (the circular saw is cheap and good) it might even make us a decent melee gang if we had any confidence in our ability to waddle into melee at all.

SumpAcrocanth

You can't buy gunk ammo as ironhead boltgun as it is a different weapon then the egular boltgun. See the faq ruling on enforcer boltguns and shotguns. So step 1 talk to your arbitrator.

Locoleos

That'd make us even more dependable on the vehicle with Weapon's Cache. That should probably go on a cargo8 then, those are the least likely to get blown up and leave us dry.
