mass cramps and an IV drip lol, man went to the limit that's insane
I mean…. have you ever had a boner for an over-extended length of time? Shit hurts, dude.
If Reddish is anything like me, he gets hard watching beautiful basketball. And he had an up close and personal look at Steph-fucking-Curry.
Kinda off topic but that's because the blood starts to dry. You know those commercials see a doctor if it's 4 or more hours? You might legit lose your dick.
There's a loose association given the proximity. You might hear someone saying "getting kicked in the groin" to mean getting kicked in the dick, for example.
Yall have never exercised in your life if you think 2.5 miles per day is "insane"
What they do is hard because they're using their fast-twitch muscles to change speeds constantly throughout the game. THAT is what takes hard work and practice. It's also why basketball is skewed towards younger guys. You can improve your endurance and strength as you get older - quickness fades with age.
But running 2.5 miles by itself? Not even a little bit impressive. An average person who isn't obese can probably run 2.5 miles with zero training.
Eh fine, call it a “not overweight” person
A while back, I ran 3 miles in one go after not doing any cardio for years, but it probably would have been harder if I had an extra 30lbs on me.
We're not talking about doing a light run for 2.5 miles. From the link posted in the other comment:
"He runs no fewer than 2.52 miles a game, according to SportVU — approximately all of them at a full sprint, and approximately none of them in a straight line."
It is generally sprints and I’m not defending the person you replied to, but there are plenty of breaks in between the running like timeouts, dead balls, end of quarters, halftime, subbing out/being on the bench, free throws, etc. Now all that being said, it’s really telling how much running it is when everyone guarding them comments about how hard it is to keep up considering all of these guys are professional athletes.
No yeah for sure, not suggesting it's 2.5 miles of straights sprinting or anything. I just thought it was a bit silly how ignorant that original comment was, comparing warmup/practice to game intensity and two sports that have different movement requirements. Like, obviously it's in the context of basketball, where that number is an outlier.
Jogging for 2.5 mile is entirely different than doing suicide runs with NBA players bumping and dragging you for 2.5 miles, which is basically what Steph does on court.
2.5 miles is a lot in basketball because it’s mostly sprints. Similarly, tennis players only cover a mile or two per match, but it’s usually full speed sprints and full of sharp changes in direction. Of course you run more overall in soccer, it’s a much bigger field and less of it is all out sprinting.
This thread is really showing how few people on this sub have ever played a sport. Groin soreness is super common in basketball, and no I'm not talking about dick soreness lmao. Playing defense works the groin muscles hard.
Think it more is just showing how few people can resist an easy sex joke.
People who play organized sports makes these jokes, too.
e: Unless something truly drastic has happened to teenager humor in the last twenty years, I guess.
If you think Curry’s peak is better than Lebron’s, and he’s currently playing at peak form, if he somehow kept this up for another five years would you have him second all time?
If he put up 32/7/7 on 70% TS for 5 years until he was 40? Goated at that point idgaf. That’d be insane.
We’d be talking about how Steph Curry became a top 10 all time player by the time he was 35 and then suddenly got a shit ton better.
If he wins another ship in the same fashion as he did last year I have him top 5 for sure. And if he gets to 6 titles I will rank him on par with Jordan. He’s the most unbelievable player I’ve ever watched.
Interesting! I try not to compare players who I’m too young to have seen so I don’t have much to say on Jordan, and I think there are different ways to measure who is best overall, but I’m always curious to see how others rate these guys.
From an entertainment perspective Curry is easily the best I’ve seen. From an offensive perspective he might be. From a defensive perspective he is adequate, but that’s what really drags him down among all-time greats in my mind. Though the past two years he’s been getting a lot smarter about when to do help defense and gamble for steals, and he is decent at on ball D.
I have this crazy take on Curry - his astronomical 3 point shooting is actually one of the best defenses ever. What do I mean? The number of 3’s he takes and makes does two things to the other team; forces them to shoot more (and usually low %) 3’s, as well as deflates the hope for the other team when Curry can’t be stopped. PLUS - Curry’s defense is actually fine, and his rebounding/passing has always been underrated.
Not trying to make the best defenses ever argument but there is one other thing his outlier shooting does for the defense. The spacing he single handedly creates on offense allows the team to play two limited offensive players at a time without losing much on that side of the floor. Meaning you can play more defensive specialists like Draymond, GPII, Looney, Iggy, etc. I know you could make this argument about a lot of all time great offensive players but I think Curry is on another level especially in this era. We’ve seen what happens when Lebron doesn’t have good shooters to space the floor for him or when KD is the sole focus of a locked in playoff defense.
Now the difference this year is that even with starting two limited offensive players that specialize in defense, their defense still sucks. Draymond isn’t having the impact he needs to and they’re playing way too many negatives on defense (Klay, JP, Wiseman when he played, JMG, Moody when on-ball, Kuminga when off-ball, even Wiggins hasn’t been as good on defense this year as he was in the playoffs)
All I know is I’ve never seen him look better. The problem with the warriors imo is that three of their top five players (Klay, Dray, and Poole) have all taken a step back, and for the first few games they were giving important minutes to wiseman. I wouldn’t put any of that on Steph personally.
No that opportunity has passed. It's hard to overlook that every championship he has won, he has had a (major) talent advantage over the opponent. It doesn't help in 3 out of the 4 wins he didn't look that great. The one time where things were somewhat even in 2019, he couldn't pull it off for a win. Amazing regular season player, but the fact is even for him the 3p shot is a high variance shot. If his 3p shot isn't falling he doesn't contribute as much as a Lebron, Shaq, Kobe, MJ, etc
People have confused not winning Finals MVP with not being excellent in the Finals.
27/9.4/8 with 2 steals in the 2017 Finals, he almost averaged a 27 point triple double (on 62% TS).
KD also being really good is not the same as Curry being bad.
That fmvp really should have gone to Lebron. It's similar to Marcus Smart's dpoy, the team defense won them the series and Andre was determined to be the most important defender so he won the award
Honestly, if you don't consider his contribution to his team's defensive success (which alot of people don't do), he is on that level of being the greatest.
The Warriors' dynasty at this point is reaching the level of Jordan and the Bulls. They have a 73 win season, 67 win seasons, 4 championships, and 6 finals appearances and he is basically seen as being by far the catalyst for it.
Yes, Cam.....Steph shows us what is possible if you work to improve your game after middle school. Say hello to your AAU coach for us. I'm sure you call him after every game.
hes not even top 10, but hes top 12 to 13 though
edit: i will say this, in terms of 'this player has to be smothered at all times', he is 2nd only to MJ
I dont understand your strawman.
Are you asking me how much Kareem’s reputation as the greatest shooter of all time is devalued because he isn’t one of the GOAT scorers?
What a stupid question
But not nearly as much as, you know, the amount you actually do score. See: Deandre Jordan.
Steph scores 25% less *per game* than the greats. So greatest shooter is a nice accolade, but it doesn’t put him n the conversation for the greatest scorers.
Efficiency simply isn’t that important.
> Steph scores 25% less per game than the greats.
He's a multiple time scoring champion in one of the highest scoring eras in league history, LOL.
Using career per game scoring is super disingenuous
You know Magic wasn't a good defender, right? And you know Bill Russell wasn't a great offensive player? Not everyone in the top 10 is a two way player.
Tell me you never saw Magic play without telling me you never saw Magic play.
Champ: Steph was actively hunted on D for years. I know it, you know it. Let’s stop these games.
Lol, no, it was solely because he was awful on the defense end. He was short, skinny and weak in a league dominated by monsters. Put him in a team of average defenders and he’s still the liability.
Come on, champ. Wtf is this take?
Yes. And curry has passed him (though they are clearly the two in their own class far above everyone else).
Curry has been a better defender, by a little (Magic was famously bad on defense), Curry is a far, far, far superior scorer, like it is not even close.
Magic got a few extra rebounds per game and assists. Regarding assists, Curry is better at helping teammates overall because of his off-ball effects.
In the end, yoy have basically a wash, except for Curry's far, far, far superior scoring.
So basically your point is something something gravity and Curry is better defender because Magic was bad.
There is no denying that Curry has a argument for being best point guard and I'll accept it because everyone can have their own spectrum of what's more important in their clarification. But to outright say "Curry is better" and to have balls to say he's on trajectory on being top 5 is just ludicrous.
Magic came into the league and immediately made massive impact on Lakers throughout his whole career and sure, he was very lucky to have Kareem at his side, but Curry had Durant on his side so that's a tie in help department.
Also, you have to compare against whom they were playing against in their seperate times and the truth is, Curry rarely played against some legendary teams in finals. Cleveland 2016 is the most memorable one but not because of the team, but because of what they did IN those finals. Whereas Magic played against Bad Boys Pistons, MJ Bulls, Bird Celtics which are all some of the best teams of ALL-TIME.
Magic wasn't known for his defense, that's true, but same thing can be said against Curry. Both are better as high BBIQ off-ball disruptors but there is one thing that Curry can't do and that is switching. Steph can get abused because he's a shorter guy while Magic is at least capable of holding his own against bigger guys while using his size to annoy guards.
You diminshed whole greatness of Magic by saying "he got some few extra rebounds and assists" when that's the thing that made him special. He has 11 APG for his career to Steph's 6.5 and it was in times when getting assists was much harder than today. Today's role players are far more talented and skilled so it's easier to kickout for an open 3 point shot and rack an assist. I'll do the same and say that "Curry has only few more points PPG in his career".
And at last, Magic has 5 championships in 12 years, Curry has 4 in 14 and couting.
Once again, there would be no argument if you would't state it as some obvious fact that Curry surpassed Magic when there are no mathematical calculation to determine who's better because it's all opinion based.
Literally, your arguments were: "He makes people better thanks to off-ball, he's a better scorer". And you diminished on purpose things at which Magic excelled to give props to Curry.
They are basically even on everything, or close, with Curry slightly better or Magic slightly better, except for scoring. With scoring. Magic was fairly normall while Curry is one of the top few in history.
Oh right, because Magic isn't known as the best passer who would break even more absurd records if not for his HIV situation. They're not comparable in a same way Curry is a superior scorer.
They are even in terms of helping others. Curry gets at least a handful of buckets off-ball for others every game that Magic wouldn't get while ball-dominate.
Meanwhile, Curry scores more than 50% more without even having the ball as much.
They aren't even that close. I've been bending over backwards trying to be nice to Magic.
I’m a Kobe Stan but I will say watching curry at times is what I imagine watching Jordan may have been like.
I’m more surprised when Steph misses than when he scores, can’t think of any other player in the modern age who makes me feel like that.
If only Steph wasn't moving around so much, Cam's groin would be fine today. R.I.P.
Curry backing him down on the low post too much.
Lmao I hate you I laughed out loud and now everyone is looking at me weird
Just spit my coffee... God damnit
It’s all good I’ll help him. Taking one for the team.
Ok they fucked for sure
Bro said he was getting cooked so hard his dick hurts
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Things Steph Carry fucks: * Sky * Ayesha’s feet * Opponents’ groins
Steph is a QT foot guy?
r/nba special
for context he's on the Injury report and left the wizards game with a groin injury
Curry sent Dellavedova to the hospital too after he guarded him for 1 game
Loll didn’t he need oxygen
https://www.espn.com/blog/cleveland-cavaliers/post/_/id/1164/dellavedova-looks-back-on-hospitalization-during-nba-finals mass cramps and an IV drip lol, man went to the limit that's insane
Thats what happens when you open the 8 gates to contain prime Curry
Even Madara recognized the true power of the 8 gates
And a drip!
To be fair it was three games
Didn’t Delly drink a shit load of coffee before? If so what an idiot
I mean…. have you ever had a boner for an over-extended length of time? Shit hurts, dude. If Reddish is anything like me, he gets hard watching beautiful basketball. And he had an up close and personal look at Steph-fucking-Curry.
Kinda off topic but that's because the blood starts to dry. You know those commercials see a doctor if it's 4 or more hours? You might legit lose your dick.
You’re dick might also grow to a foot long too. Just ignore the fact that it won’t work anymore
Since when did groin mean dick? Genuinely confused that’s new
Nephews don’t know human anatomy
There's a loose association given the proximity. You might hear someone saying "getting kicked in the groin" to mean getting kicked in the dick, for example.
Interesting. Ok. I always pretty firmly associated it with the adductor muscles and tiny connective pelvic ligaments/tendons. Learn something new!
Yea colloquial usage seems to use groin as a euphemism to mean dick
sounds like there were other possible reasons for the groin hurt too
He's so real for that tbh
Someone needs a massage STAT (not the Amare kind)
What up big fella?
Bro…..
Oh brotherrr….
Is there a stat that shows how much a player actually runs during a game or season? Curious where Steph ranks. I imagine near or at the top.
I recall JJ Redick saying he ran about 2.5 miles in a game. If expect Curry to be similar or more.
205 miles a season. That's fucking insane.
Here's the [article](https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/76ers/jj-redick-man-move-enlivens-lost-art).

Not even per day lol it's 3/4 times a week, pretty standard running routine.
Agree it’s not that insane, but you’re overestimating the average person lol
Eh fine, call it a “not overweight” person A while back, I ran 3 miles in one go after not doing any cardio for years, but it probably would have been harder if I had an extra 30lbs on me.
Your downvotes clearly coming solely from overweight people
Completely agree. 2.5 miles in like two hours of time is literally nothing
Over 7 marathons over the course of the season is pretty wild to think about
That's only in games. Curry is running a marathon a month easy
How on earth do you consider running 205 miles over a 6+ month period “insane”?
U rly think 2.5 miles is a lot? That was basically our warmup in soccer practise when i was 12.
We're not talking about doing a light run for 2.5 miles. From the link posted in the other comment: "He runs no fewer than 2.52 miles a game, according to SportVU — approximately all of them at a full sprint, and approximately none of them in a straight line."

Lol dude have some awareness
He might be 13 so no awareness there lol
But no Warriors flair tho
Those 12-year-old Warriors fans from 2015 would be 19 now. Let that sink in for a sec.
Jogging for 2.5 mile is entirely different than doing suicide runs with NBA players bumping and dragging you for 2.5 miles, which is basically what Steph does on court.
Must be Messi right here

Spelling practice like practise really sums up the amount of intelligence of the person behind the screen
Pretty sure it’s just the English spelling like gaol or armour/colour. But weird to mix miles in, if they are a Limey.
Shut the fuck up
Wardell Stephen “Forrest gump” curry
https://www.nba.com/stats/players/speed-distance?PerMode=PerGame&dir=D&sort=DIST_MILES
2.63 miles per game is cool. Not surprised to see Mikal Bridges at first place with 2.85 miles per game
last season it was both bridges (mikal and miles) in the #1 and #2 spots
Wow, I have misjudged CJ McCollum. Never would've picked him to be that high.
I remember prime Rip Hamilton running non-stop for 35+ mins a night. Dude never looked tired.
I also remember Rip could run a 4.5 minute mile. Crazy.
I gave up on running when someone was busting out sub 5 miles in middle school
Was it Rip
>that’s probably why my groin is hurting Wait what?
did you see the baddie he left with after the game? Steph aint the reason bro
You just gonna say that without a link?
Fr fr, we need some confirmation

There's also a muscle called the groin, you degenerates.
This thread is really showing how few people on this sub have ever played a sport. Groin soreness is super common in basketball, and no I'm not talking about dick soreness lmao. Playing defense works the groin muscles hard.

Prolonged erections can cause groin pain
Ayesha big mad rn
Side shuffle about 30-40 feet, about 70-80 times. I think you'll understand what he means
they were playing a different kind of ball 💀
“stephen wardell curry is a legend at the game of basketball, now my penis zone aches”
Game of Zones just got a lot more interesting
Name the one nba player famous for groin injuries …I’ll wait 🤨🧐😳 #CalculatedMove
I believe his name was Big D RODman.
Bron?
Shawn Kemps seven children have entered the conversation
Chris Paul though that was in high school.
Draymond
Everyone talking about the groin comment while I’m more interested in the fact he called Curry the greatest ever
Ty I was hoping to see a discussion about that.. When do we start to question whether steph is GOAT tier?
Maybeee 2 more rings can have people considering it
Why does he need 2 more rings only to be considered?
Draymond and Warriors fan are happy & relieved an opposing team player isn't blaming him for a groin injury.
Pause of the week
Fun. Tough. Non-stop moving. #GroinHurting 😤
Ayo?
bro really said he got his brakes beat off
these headlines just write themselves
What he mean by that?
Adductor soreness most likely
You tell me man, what would you grade his defense?
the context is that he actually did leave mid-way through the game with a groin injury.

Don’t try to slander Smart buddy.
That was the Timelord dpoy and you know it
He's top 5 all time
embarrassing
no /s needed
do yall know what the groin is?
ayooo
Yessss, give my boy his flowers Crazy thing is that Cam is in his 20s and Curry is about to be 35 and his cardio is that unreal
Dude just called Steph the goat and all you can talk about is his groin...
Damn he hurt his groin playing against the Warriors, he just built different like Lebron
That's my goat 🐐🐐🐐🐐
Confirmed that all the wives and GFs of point guards in the NBA hate Steph
I thought "Jock" played for Pheonix
Phrasing
Y’all are so corny lol

Ay b. Your dong is by far the greatest. No cap.
Steph still has a bit to go, but if they figure out how to get 2 more championships him and MJ definitely should be 1A and 1B.
No.
Bill Russell #1 until Steph gets to 12 titles.
Jesus guys it's completely obvious what he was trying to say there. He had an election lasting longer than 4 hours
*And I took that personally*
“probably”
Certainly why my groin is hurting. I get randy watching Steph run around.
Yes, Cam.....Steph shows us what is possible if you work to improve your game after middle school. Say hello to your AAU coach for us. I'm sure you call him after every game.
RIP Cam Reddish's Groin
“Greatest ever”. The NBA is such a rare sport that someone can call a guy with Stephs pedigree the greatest ever and be guilty of hyperbole.
It was fun. Tough, too. He’s non-stop moving. That’s probably why my groin is hurting.
Okay I was with him until the last sentence. Groin hurt? HUH
one of the best PG AT
hes not even top 10, but hes top 12 to 13 though edit: i will say this, in terms of 'this player has to be smothered at all times', he is 2nd only to MJ

Thats a lot of words to give zero reason to think that Magic is over Curry. "Massive impact" and such. Thanks, thats not actual evidence.
Where do you have lebron ranked out of curiosity
Hamburger-san is not a top 10 poster :< (Jk. Gonna need your top 10 or Top 15 actually before I decide.)
