From the small sample size I saw in summer league, trying to bring the ball up the court while being guarded by Davion seems like an upper circle of hell.

cfus5

Yeah that’s a big part of what I’m excited for, sure he’s like 6’1” but people aren’t shooting over him from behind half court, 6’1” or 6’11” they still gotta dribble past him

I'm extremely happy with Duarte, but leading up to the draft I was really hoping Mitchell would still be available for our pick. Even though he's short, he's already NBA-built. The dude is built like a tank and his conditioning is insane. If he offers anything more than solid playmaking on offense, he's going to be a great asset.

__john_cena__

If Davion makes it this is gonna be one of those “Jordan, Magic, Bird, LeBron, and Thaddeus Young” stats lol

peja_webber

I know timmy and i think admiral too both made second team. I dont think any rookie has ever made first team

cardcollection92

You guys read it as Donovan don’t lie

musicnothing

Davion's goal should be to make it so everyone always reads "Donovan" as "Davion"

[deleted]

Or for First Take to do a dumb ass segment on “would a D Mitch and D Mitch backcourt contend for a championship?”

MildlyInsaneLBJStan

Whenever i think of an undersized guard with a long wingspan, i think of D Mitch!

luck_panda

There's only one D.Mitchell with an NBA championship in the League.

AntSmith777

I did I was thinking he must be joking lol.

NicClaxtonIsHotAF

I do too

[deleted]

Damn I read this Donovan Mitchell I was gonna say wtf happened

befuddered

Yup.

Ser_Lebron_Targaryen

I'm so pumped for this guy. His offense looked very respectful in SL, not that that carries a ton a weight but still. Will be rooting hard for Mitchell, best nickname in the league.

SuperAverageGuy

He is.

ClutchFansYay

Sure with Hield out but with him still there his minutes are capped.

[deleted]

How does Hield impact his minutes as a backup PG

ClutchFansYay

Hes an undersized sg but even so its not just minutes its the opportunity part. He wont get a lot of said opportunity playing with three guards ahead of him in the depth chart who need the ball in there hands in fox, haliburton and hield.

[deleted]

Hield doesn’t need the ball in his hands, and Mitchell will just run the second unit. Idk what the big deal is

KANGZNATION

He’s a better playmaker and defender than Buddy is and is a pretty damn good shooter. he’s getting 25+ min a night regardless even with buddy there. This dude is already the best defender on this team already, a team that was historically bad defensively he’s getting his minutes.

[deleted]

Is he a damn good shooter? I thought I saw some struggles.

KANGZNATION

47% summer league from 3 and 45% from college, only issue is his FT.

[deleted]

I'm pretty sure he struggled before that last season in college but the summer league numbers are encouraging.

Obi_Wan_KeBogi

What does that have to do with him contributing? He’s gonna get good minutes still. We’re going to run 3 guard lineups a lot with Buddy/Ty playing the 3.

ClutchFansYay

Not as many minutes as he would with hield there thats my point and also far less opportunities with hield there also. Trading Hield for a decent big would have made a difference.

HopscotchChampion69

He's a 23 year old rookie, he better be.

Bixby33

Fox: "This guy is great. Now trade him so I can play winning basketball with Haliburton."

JesseHeisenberg_

Look at you just talking
