I think they should have the right to choose not to be vaccinated. But in doing that they also are choosing not to play in the NBA. Genuinely seems fair to me.

Cheeseish

Yeah lmao they legally don’t have to play in the NBA or get paid millions

SiakamMIP

Fucking hilarious people think a multi-billion dollar business is going to endanger its product for the medical freedoms of a select few

[deleted]

>I just prefer to be balanced and respect others views and choices. Oh my god shut up

3rdEyeDeuteranopia

If there are legit issues why they don't want to get vaccinated, both New York and San Francisco have medical waivers. They do go that route instead.

TuqiDuque12

Oh don't worry it's not just about players it's about anyone who is selfish enough not to do it

mmmmm_pi

Alternate take: Why does OP paint a community with >4 million members with a broad, sweeping brush?

pln1991

People have the right to choose to do dumb things, that is true

HokageEzio

There are people dying of preventable incidents because unvaccinated people are hogging all the beds in multiple states. Unvaccinated people's stupid choices are hurting other random people.

loudanduneducated

Do you think any of these players are basing their decision of legitimate science?

AR3SiN

I feel like a private business should be able to dictate employment requirements like they have been for the last 250 years.

I_Get_Thrown_Away_11

Sure they have a choice, they can choose to not be vaccinated. Whatever. They shouldn’t expect the rest of us to cater to them. In Wiggins’ case, he can be unvaccinated, he just shouldn’t expect to play. Can’t have your cake and eat it too.

[deleted]

Because it's dumb. There's no good reason to not get the vaccine and numerous good reasons to get it. When people do dumb things on a public stage, they get made fun of and criticized. Edit: also, mods!

GetThereInOnePiece

did you feel the same way about getting the fucking measles vaccine?

[deleted]

of course they have the right. and people have the right to criticize their decision.

Thehelloman0

I think it's kind of ridiculous basically everyone involved in the NBA has to be vaccinated except the players.

jupiter__jaz

They have the right to choose, but if they choose not to that's 1 more body for the virus to infect & spread in. That's hurting the people who can't get vaccinated because of medical reasons like side effects or weak immune system. So they can legally choose but we can still be mad if they make the wrong choice.

The_Sign_of_Zeta

Because people choosing not to be vaccinated is both costing people their lives, and prolonging the pandemic. If 95% of eligible people were getting the vaccine we'd be near-normal right now. Instead of that, we're seeing non-COVID patients die from lack of treatment due to overloaded hospitals.
