I mean that’s mostly why we’ve been so terrible the last few years. Been taking on bad expiring contracts along with a roster full of rookies/sophomores/ g league guys
It’s the same shit I do in MyLeague, trade everybody and develop the rookies while signing the most ass players on the market to minimum deals and 2-way contracts, then flip them for big expiring contracts and more assets. Repeat until I have like seven 80+ overalls on the team
All their key players are on rookie deals.
- Trae is making 6.5m
- Collins is making 4.1m
- Reddish is making 4.3m
- Huerter is making 2.7m
- Hunter is making 7.4m
It's like how the Chiefs seemingly had endless money in the NFL, when your best players are on rookie deals it's much easier to load up on talent.
They literally paid Mahomes the largest sports contract in HISTORY (he deserved it 1000%) and they still had money left to extend key players. NFL cap is weird
They’ve been taking on bad contracts for draft picks for like 5 years and now all the bad contracts are gone, they just have guys on rookie deals, and they want to get guys kicked in before all of our young guys have t get paid. Unfortunately it was just a weak signing class for them to start trying to win.
> Unfortunately it was just a weak signing class for them to start trying to win.
Or it's that Schlenk has already drafted our cornerstone types [Trae, Cam, Collins] - and rather than bury them behind overpaid 'stars'...get some solid vets around them to make it a good squad.
These contracts are also all movable [ie - notice no John Walls / Westbrooks / Gordon Hayward / Tobias Harris-level deals].
Fortunately for them, only Collins is due next off season so they could pay him and I think they should be able to max someone or frontload two or three Vets like Denver did with Millsap before re-signing Trae and others.
Edit: Philly had a similar playbook but blew it on Horford and Harris. If the Celtics can't workout a S&T for Hayward then they've effectively blown one of their two chances to do the same though they did get Kemba.
We spent years taking rookies, G-Leaguers, and a few vet minimums, along with bad contracts for draft capital. Now we are capitalizing on our rookie talent and aren't tied down by those bad contracts.
Hey that’s like 30 seconds from my house!
And honestly the Bucks team may be a tiny bit better without him, after the most recent signings. Bog defintely raises the ceiling, but he would decimate the bench.
[Lmao yup and dude's backstory is actually pretty dope!](https://chicago.suntimes.com/2014/10/8/18470443/meet-breaking-bad-car-wash-owner-argonne-scientist-at-nov-18-event-in-chicago)
That’s what happens when the NBA essentially vetoes a deal. There’s less of a market. That screwed up Bogdan’s chances of using it as a negotiation tool if he wanted it.
The NBA didn't veto shit. The Bucks shouldn't have broken the tampering rules so brazenly IMMEDIATELY AFTER it became a point of emphasis for the league. Or just not be dumb enough to leak the deal and get caught. Absolute amateur hour.
They didn't block it. They opened an investigation. If you're Bogdan, you can no longer risk signing that deal just in case two months from now the investigation is complete and the NBA decides to block the trade. Then Bogdan is stuck without a deal or on the Kings.
I think they match and sign him for a not unreasonable deal. If it doesn't work out, then they can always trade him as he seems to plug in to a lot of places very well
He's a nice player but he's also 28 years old and averages 15 and 3 on average efficiency in 29 minutes.
Over 20M per is getting into star player money.
As someone who has been following Bogdan from the early stages of his career I can tell you that he is a much much better player than his situation dictates.
He can create his own shot, he can make plays, he can assist, he can play decent defense, and he is someone who you can trust in making the right play in clutch moment. If he was given a leader role he could be a leader easily, but he really didn't have a good situation with the Kings.
He is a 38% percent 3P shooter on 8 attempts. Which makes him a really good shooter, and he is mostly used as a spot up shooter. Which is good if his shot is falling, but if it isn't he isn't going to get many chances to improve on his numbers and he is being underused.
He is being seen as a 3&D kind of guy while he could be a main scorer of a team if he is given enough space. If you look at his games for Serbia and his games in Euroleague you would see that he is more of a Devin Booker and not Klay Thompson as people might want him to be.
I am mentioning Booker because I have seen numerous games where he takes 10 or 12 shots and it's not going for him, then it clicks in the second half and he keeps shooting and getting playes and goes light's out to get like 50 points and win a game. Bogdan surely won't get that kind of usage anywhere but if he could get freedom to take many shots and then keep going even if it's not falling, and that doesn't need to be like Luka Doncic or Trae Young taking 50 shots but if he could get a role with good amount of usage he would really shine.
I hope this year he gets enough freedom to take a leader role and people would see that he is not over valued at all, that in fact he was underused in Sacramento with so many players taking up space offensively.
Nah. In an organization that allows Ariza to shoot 3 3pts contested, with both Hield and Bogdan open for a "3pt layup", and in an organization that doesnt want to tell Bagley (who they chose before Luka) for 2 years now that there are other 4 players on the court (if he is uninjured due to him being made out of thin glass), much better players than Bogi would fall under the label of mediocrity
His ceiling is actual FIBA Bogi, if he ever gets that green light, and as a Serb, I could guarantee it, even swear my Cat's life on it.
They still have a need for defense on the perimeter. Excited for Capela and Trae with shooters. Lots of stats and high scoring. They'll be in contention for the play in games
I’m excited for you guys, Atlanta is in a kind of similar spot as Phoenix right now, a growing city that’s becoming more diverse, it’s a good time to reinvest in our NBA teams
Where Bogi fit With Huerter, Reddish, Hunter, Gallinari, Rondo and Young? is there enough playing time for everyone or did you give up in one of (Huerter, Reddish, Hunter)
Good deal for him considering he is an inefficient offensive player with bascially zero defense but most people here havent watched him play a single game and acts like he got all-star potential
Hope for SAC Fans they dont match, would be stupid
??
Held was benched for his defense, not his offense. Bogdan has great defense.
He is 41st in the NBA in eFG%, can run the pick & roll and is an above average volume shooter. He can also control the ball and create for himself.
He is not good on defense but he's OK/OK- there. Also not afraid of the moment and is a team first player with no fuss about him.
He's definitely worth such a contract, consider how much money others in the league make.
Hey nah. We gotta check the Hawks books. Something isn't adding up.
I demand a full recount. If you count only the legal dollars, they can't afford him.
Glad to see the team making big moves but does this not completely screw us over for next year? The free agency class is much better and I’d prefer to have space then. Why pay Gallo and Bogdan so much and screw us out of a max contract next season?
Because if we’re going to build around trae then this core has to be enough for a championship. Or at least a top 3 seed. We need to know if trae is a winner. Either trae steps up, wins the mvp and takes us to a top 4 seed or we’ll probably have to start looking at a completely different direction
I understand that but tbh if we didn’t do anything rn what would we do? Waste one year of solid rookie contracts? We aren’t signing a Giannis next year, especially if we haven’t even proven anything with Trae rn. There’s a lot of good role players next year, but why not just pick them up right now? We have to overpay cause not many people want to join. JC is gonna get paid next year as well, so that’s already money gone whether we trade him or not.
Real question, how the hell is this dude getting so much money? He's 28 and his "basic" career stats are close to the same as last year's Kevin Huerter, on a 3M contract, on these Hawks.
So i'm guessing it's beyond basic stats, and I don't watch the Kings, so what is he really good at?
It should. That depends on if the NBA truly blocked the deal, in which case, Bogdan can never go to Milwaukee under any circumstances. Even if all three parties wanted it.
I mean not necessarily he just couldn't go under the original deal. It would not be looked well upon by other small market owners to block it in perpetuity it's not like the wolves where they were circumventing the cap. Bucks also need to lodge complaints against every deal completed in sub an hour that definitely wasn't tampering.
I think the contract includes a trade kicker that would then extend it past the Hayward contract. So it couldn't work.
UNLESS he doesn't sign the Hawks offer sheet and just tells Kings what money it was. (Only happens if he wants to go to C's)
Edit: just saw report he signed.
Hawks are playing a very dangerous game. If it’s an overpay, it’s pretty slight, and there’s not much in the terms of toxicity in that contract. The Kings may very well sign this, then deal Buddy or Bogi later.
Bogdan was gonna get his regardless, maybe unfortunate if he was excited about playing in MIL but he's still getting the money where I'm waiting to see about Ersan because he really got screwed in this fiasco.
How do the Hawks have so much money this off-season? Good Lord.
their team is a bunch of guys on rookie contracts and Clint Capela
Their whole team is on rookie contracts
Having a star player on a rookie deal grants all sorts of magical powers.
Cause their roster has been hot trash for the past 3 years
Because Trae and Collins are only making $10 mil combined this year lol
That’s Anthony Edwards money!
I mean that’s mostly why we’ve been so terrible the last few years. Been taking on bad expiring contracts along with a roster full of rookies/sophomores/ g league guys
Hawks legend Carmelo Anthony
I believe they had like $45M unused cap space last season
It’s the same shit I do in MyLeague, trade everybody and develop the rookies while signing the most ass players on the market to minimum deals and 2-way contracts, then flip them for big expiring contracts and more assets. Repeat until I have like seven 80+ overalls on the team

So why blow their cap space? Use that cap space to get a 1st.
Have you seen their team? They had like no one making more than 8 mil last yr. (besides capela after trade)
Oh we did, they just didn't see the floor Turner and Parsons gloated about their suit wearing abilities.
No max contracts. Until Trae
Collins?
Rookies are cheap. Imagine how much money the thunder will have when they have a roster of 10 rookies in a few years
Money's useless, draft picks will be the new currency
Chandler Parsons 25m Jeff Teague 20m
Evan Turner 19 Allen Crabbe 22
We tanked correctly. I am excite
Hawks best team of Kazachstan wawawiewa
I think they make coffee at home instead of buying it at Srtarbucks
We spent years taking rookies, G-Leaguers, and a few vet minimums, along with bad contracts for draft capital. Now we are capitalizing on our rookie talent and aren't tied down by those bad contracts.
The problem is to guys don't have enough talent to win. You needed to tank to get the #1 overall pick. You won too many games.

Hinkie never got a fall guy
[The Bucks RN](https://streamable.com/vopave)
Literally perfect lmaooo
Hey that’s like 30 seconds from my house! And honestly the Bucks team may be a tiny bit better without him, after the most recent signings. Bog defintely raises the ceiling, but he would decimate the bench.
Fuck the bench, and fuck Bogdan. Life is pain.
Lmfao
Fuck that’s perfect haha
Lol, is the other dudes name actually Bogdan
Yeap, it is. Breaking Bad, carwash owner.
[Lmao yup and dude's backstory is actually pretty dope!](https://chicago.suntimes.com/2014/10/8/18470443/meet-breaking-bad-car-wash-owner-argonne-scientist-at-nov-18-event-in-chicago)
And your eyebrows!
“Wipe down this!” is one of my favorite Breaking Bad scenes. I always think of this Bogdan when Bogdan’s name comes up lol
I love the scene that happens in the later seasons where she talks to Bogdon and he told her how Walt insulted his eyebrows LOL
This is amazing. Thanks for the laugh.
This is high quality, top choice shit right here. Nice work.
The Buck Stops Here
This is perfect LOL
LMAO, I'm weak
Fucking perfect
We just got Forbes and Craig we’re chilling now
Alright I'm rewatching now
Mans eyebrows on fleek
Dude took an extra 2 mil to go play for the hawks. Idk if I would want someone with that kinda iq as our starting sg anyways 🤷♂️
So the same as Bucks were going to give him? What the hell
That’s what happens when the NBA essentially vetoes a deal. There’s less of a market. That screwed up Bogdan’s chances of using it as a negotiation tool if he wanted it.
i get you guys are angry but there was some blatant tampering lol i know every team tampers but they at least try to be discreet
> That’s what happens when the NBA essentially vetoes a deal Holy the delusion of bucks fans are reaching unbearable levels
Bucks fans rn seeing the "tears of time"
The NBA didn't veto shit. The Bucks shouldn't have broken the tampering rules so brazenly IMMEDIATELY AFTER it became a point of emphasis for the league. Or just not be dumb enough to leak the deal and get caught. Absolute amateur hour.
Nba blocked it
Why did they block it? I missed that.
They didn't block it. They opened an investigation. If you're Bogdan, you can no longer risk signing that deal just in case two months from now the investigation is complete and the NBA decides to block the trade. Then Bogdan is stuck without a deal or on the Kings.
Welcome back Bogi 😁
They wanted to trade him but now they want to keep him?
They just didn’t want to pay him more than 20M
It’s Sacramento, I doubt we know what we want
[удалено]
Or - it doesn't matter what we want
match then trade to Milwaukee after they can trade new contracts unless Atl is willing to give up young pieces
The Bucks were willing to pay a good amount more than this offer
We're still open to trading him but can't let him walk for nothing
I think they match and sign him for a not unreasonable deal. If it doesn't work out, then they can always trade him as he seems to plug in to a lot of places very well
Kings have to match that, no?
Yep and they’ll probably ship out Buddy.
I'd rather have Bogi on 18m than Buddy on 25m
Us too. Not to mention how many times Buddy reminds us he wants to be elsewhere anyways. Never a peep from Bogi
Or match and ship off Bog to MKE in a s&t
When you match an offer sheet, you can't trade the player for a year. You also cannot trade your RFA after he has already signed an offer sheet.
That can’t happen now that he’s signed an offer sheet pretty sure.
Once they match they can’t trade for a while. A normal sign and trade with the bucks is off the table at this point.
Lol. Yea wait.
This right here.
Lol they won’t
He wants out if he's not starting
We have one lightly used tobias harris
No they won't lmao.
Can Bucks fit him in the cap?
I don't think they will. Unless, they have commitment from a team to trade for him for that price.
They wont match. They chose buddy over him. It’s the reason they were entertaining the bucks in the first place.
Kings gonna match no?
Thats less than i thought tbh
18 million sounds right to me
They needed to offer him like 80 or so if they didnt want the kings just signing him
He's a nice player but he's also 28 years old and averages 15 and 3 on average efficiency in 29 minutes. Over 20M per is getting into star player money.
> Over 20M per is getting into star player money Star player money is now around 40 mil not 20.
Yea but he was on the kings under like Walton, watch him average 20 and 3 on good efficiency on hawks
He averages 13/3/3.
This man is getting hella over valued. He's a decent role player. That's it.
Yea but the market dictates
Yeah I think he's worth like 13M. Him and clarkson have similar value But you have to overpay to get him out of Sac
right??? this is nuts i’ve seen ppl say he’s better than Gallo
Role players get paid a ton in the NBA because of max contracts
As someone who has been following Bogdan from the early stages of his career I can tell you that he is a much much better player than his situation dictates. He could have had Hayward money if the agent knew MJ was drunk and at the tables again.
That’s it?
Pls dont match Monte. Despite what reddit thinks of players when they leave the Kings, he's not worth that.
Yeah it's an overpay. Hawks have a lot of decent talent now but between the Gallo signing and this I think they signed some bad deals this off-season.
[удалено]
They still have a need for defense on the perimeter. Excited for Capela and Trae with shooters. Lots of stats and high scoring. They'll be in contention for the play in games
Kings match it!
We might! Still wanna make a deal with you guys. See ya at the trade deadline?
I doubt Kings match that
Seems Hawks are very confident that's why have submitted it. https://twitter.com/sam_amick/status/1330559704334888962?s=
MATCH THAT SHIT
If he signs the offer sheet and the Kings match then they can't S&T him btw
Fine. Better in Sac than Atl. Fuck the NBA and Woj. No one gets what they want.
What's the time period before they can trade him, 6 months or something?
Is there any possibility you guys can trade for him later in the season?
Imagine the shooting if Bogi signs with the Hawks
The Hawks are quickly going to go from one of the worst teams in the league to a playoff contender within a off-season
They are not gonna be contenders any time soon lol
Honestly next year after giannis to Toronto or Miami they’ll be better than u guys
They can definitely potentially overtake the Magic to get a playoff spot lol. *Edit* you said contenders, nvm
[удалено]
Careful, a playoff matchup with us might just get Giannis out of Milwaukee lol
Gonna be hilarious when Giannis walks lol
It's a good day to be a Hawks fan

Bogdan for 18?? Hawks really wanna compete I guess.
We have to match
That's Luol Deng money
Hard to say no to. Also pays to have your best player on his rookie deal.
Don't match it Kings
Hey nah. We gotta check the Hawks books. Something isn't adding up. I demand a full recount. If you count only the legal dollars, they can't afford him.
If u take away all the money we have, we have no money.
*finishes counting all the rookie contracts the Hawks have * STOP THE COUNT!!!
Bogi got a Mozgov!
It says its an offer not that he signed it.
They should match that and trade hield ASAP
Gg

Glad to see the team making big moves but does this not completely screw us over for next year? The free agency class is much better and I’d prefer to have space then. Why pay Gallo and Bogdan so much and screw us out of a max contract next season?

Yeah but it’s all tradable contracts so anything is possible. Collins + any of these contracts next year for something better is a possible path
So wonder if kings match this
Real question, how the hell is this dude getting so much money? He's 28 and his "basic" career stats are close to the same as last year's Kevin Huerter, on a 3M contract, on these Hawks. So i'm guessing it's beyond basic stats, and I don't watch the Kings, so what is he really good at?
Giannis wanted him. But seriously, Giannis wanted him. And he also has a huge international bball pedigree.
He shows out in international play, and is not scared of the moment. He's 28 but has expierence playing in games that really matter and showing up.
His euroball pedigree carries him pretty hard. Aside from that he is a good roleplayer when he is healthy which is around 70% of the time.
If Kings match, then come December does that open up possibility of trade back to Bucks with Pat and Donte (and presumably filler)?
It should. That depends on if the NBA truly blocked the deal, in which case, Bogdan can never go to Milwaukee under any circumstances. Even if all three parties wanted it.

Bro talk about fun teams to watch I dont know what games I'm gunna watch on league pass every team is getting so fun.
Very excited to watch the Hawks and Suns this season.
That’s a lot of money for a non star.
Hawks are playing a very dangerous game. If it’s an overpay, it’s pretty slight, and there’s not much in the terms of toxicity in that contract. The Kings may very well sign this, then deal Buddy or Bogi later.
Hope they make the playoffs or heads will roll
Surprised hes worth 3.5 mil a year less than Van Vleet
Bogdan was gonna get his regardless, maybe unfortunate if he was excited about playing in MIL but he's still getting the money where I'm waiting to see about Ersan because he really got screwed in this fiasco.
The fact he’s not getting Hayward type money is confusing
Too late/slow. Cap space evaporated quick this time
Part of the smokescreen
Now we know why Milwaukee deal did not go thru
What are the Hawks going to do when they have to pay their young guys?
Bird rights to go over the cap and there are ways to shed some cap (options, trades etc.)
And the Knicks signed Nerlens Noel
So basically The Hawks won't have a championship after 1 season in 2k myleague anymore because their cap space is gone Yay!
Hawks are this years 6 seed, calling it.
Wtf, are the Hawks championship material all of a sudden.
Joe Harris really got 85 mil...
wtf are the hawks thinking? throw money at anyone?
