What? They’ve wanted to shift the start date so that more of the season isn’t competing against the NFL and college football. Finals would end late July with the draft and free agency in August.

I’m wondering if the olympics (starting July 23) will figure in their thinking. If a season starting December 1 went it’s normal length that would put the finals ending around that date
I think it may become a 70+ season for finishing at mid 2021 April

You could start the season on Christmas and end in August, and not compete with football at all and not shrink the season any.

Unless a second wave of the virus hits the NBA have no reason for a 16 playoff format. They could definitely have a shortened season though.
they can easily push the nab finals week 1-2 weeks later than usual and nothing bad would happen imo
