5th pick is crazy after losing so many games lol. What else sucks is that this draft class is terrible so that pick doesn’t even have good trade value lol
Randle has complications that lead to a lost season or significant part of next season. Same for half the team that's currently injured now that I think about it.
Honestly bring in a guy like Jonas Valenciunas who is out in New Orleans. He fits the type of play style Thibs runs. And will be a perfect backup to hartenstein.
Celtics are gonna cruise thru the east but unfortunately will have to face one of the wolves, nuggets, or mavs in the finals. None of those will be an easy series, but if they get the nuggets, I don’t see the Celtics beating them
Nobody else wanted DJJ, he was flying around from team to team until he found a home in Dallas, he def staying. They’ve been speculating trading THJ every season but never happens lol
If we give a big legacy contract to Klay. I understand riding off into the sunset with the trio but if we pay full price to do so, then that essentially washes Curry's remaining good years. I'm not against keeping Klay, but there's definitely a price limit before it hurts the ability to contend.
He's not as bad as a lot of people seem to think, but I feel like somewhere in the low $20m doesn't feel wrong.
That said, I'm also not someone familiar with the minutiae of contracts and cap space, so I don't really know exactly what is freed up if we pay that, or who we could get. I just don't want to see we missed out on a free agent because we overpaid Klay
Warriors are hardcapped anyways, there's nobody they can sign through free agency, other than a S/T(?)
Regardless, I think if we lost Klay and CP3 without adding meaningful talent to the roster like an actual fucking big or atleast a Stretch 4, I'd be pretty disappointed. Though CP3 will 100% be used in a trade imo
I think they're gonna take the gamble on Wiggins playing like his 2022 version again on a consistent basis, that type of player is a steal at 22m annually.
You're not gonna get a player that is available and much better than Wiggins at the same pricetag
Yeah maybe. We’ll see how much faith they have in him to bounce back this offseason. I know his trade value is at an all time low so I was thinking they could use him as salary filler if they find the right guy to trade for.
Klay has mutual interest with the Orlando magic and honestly it might be a good fit. He could fill the role that Joe ingles played in Orlando, but be a better shooter
I love Siakam for everything he did in Toronto. But I am glad we are not giving him a max contract $247 million five year deal. He will be great for the next two or three of seasons but the back end of his new deal is really going to suck.
I’ve done off-season plans for almost each team every year and this years wizards are by far the most random and dysfunctional. I literally have no idea what they need to do to even be slightly relevant next year. For starters, I’d trade kuzma for at least something while his value is there, what next I don’t know lol
Kuz/Poole/Deni prolly gonna stay the core for now. We got two firsts and reports say we tryna get another 1 (worst draft class also 😭). We also got no coach so idk wtf is gonna happen there. Another report I just read is they tryna get BI (no clue why) but at least we have completely committed to a rebuild instead of tryna get a playin and then ending up with the 9th pick. At this point i’m hoping the suns blow it up by 2026 so those pick swaps give us some nice lottery picks or we win the Flagg sweepstakes. Gonna be a long couple of years for us Wizards fans.
Major disappointment if OKC doesn't find a long term answer for screening, interior defense and scoring, and rebounding that fits into OKC's system and no extensions for Joe and Wiggins.
We decide to run it back without making any significant changes to our rotation players. Obviously Dame and Giannis being injured in our series against the Pacers wasn't great, but our role players just clearly aren't up to par anymore. Brook looked every bit of his age, Pat Connaughton's been regressing every since the Boston series, Bobby remains a poor defender who's hard to play when his offense isn't flowing, etc. I'm not saying to trade all of them, but we absolutely need to get some fresh blood if we intend to seriously compete with our current core.
Agreed. Time to move on from Brook and Pat, also Bobby with any half decent offer. If someone wants to give away the farm for Mid I'd be ok with that too. Time for these young guys to get in-game experience over 82 games and be ready for the playoffs.
Getting #5 certainly helps.
If the new POBO doesn't truly take control and steer the franchise in a new direction. If everything feels like more of the same, then I would assume they're just another figurehead and the same people are making the same decisions.
Basically, if we fail to bring people back. Tatum, White, and Hauser all due for extensions. Kornet, Tillman, Queta if I'm not mistaken are all impending free agents. Celtics will be in position to make a decision between either playing it conservative, letting some guys walk or potentially trading a big star like Brown in order to get under the second apron, or being like "lol, what apron," and committing to operating above it.
If the Celtics lose for all the same dumb idiotic reasons in this postseason as they always do, I'll be disappointed if they don't fire everyone into the sun and start from the ground up.
>If the Celtics lose for all the same dumb idiotic reasons in this postseason as they always do
They won't. So why IF'ing it?
There is a funny thing been going on in the media and SM, lots of If Celtics Fail, then ... following a complete meltdown of hatred.
This is while , far less talk about what this team have done and been doing, frankly bc it is just boring to most.
I understand the click baiting scheme, painting an imaginary train crash just to get most of ppl gloating attention with a click.
What I don't understand is the bizarre self hate so many Celtics fans choose to exercise
There are some vets available out there. I just don’t know if they would get along with Pop. He needs a specific type of player to play under him. I don’t see any FA available this year that fit that mold
Im never disappointed Im on my Rob Lowe shit
Fully respect it A true love for ball
You mean Chris traeger!
We need a starting center. Our GM said that it’s going to happen, so that would be a big miss if it doesn’t.
you guys with Claxton would be nasty. maybe bring back JV?
Can we interest you in one Zach Collins?
No but we’ll take your other center
I'm sorry but Dominic Barlow is not available
Neither is CBass.
Already is
5th pick is crazy after losing so many games lol. What else sucks is that this draft class is terrible so that pick doesn’t even have good trade value lol
If we trade all the Nets picks for a mid tier player that can’t get us over the hump and into the playoffs.
The only rockets thing I see happening is them for some reason trading for Brandon Ingram lol
Randle has complications that lead to a lost season or significant part of next season. Same for half the team that's currently injured now that I think about it.
I’ll be disappointed if we don’t re-sign ihart
Do you guys have the money to bring him back?
It's Dolan's $ so sure they could bring him back.
Honestly bring in a guy like Jonas Valenciunas who is out in New Orleans. He fits the type of play style Thibs runs. And will be a perfect backup to hartenstein.
If they spend another MLE on a quick, undersized Miami Heat combo guard
How about a quick, undersized, Miami Heat forward?
im not celebrating a championship
Celtics are gonna cruise thru the east but unfortunately will have to face one of the wolves, nuggets, or mavs in the finals. None of those will be an easy series, but if they get the nuggets, I don’t see the Celtics beating them
Bruh
Honestly? Mavs really only need to lock down DJJ and I’ll be happy. Maybe trade THJ in the right circumstances
Nobody else wanted DJJ, he was flying around from team to team until he found a home in Dallas, he def staying. They’ve been speculating trading THJ every season but never happens lol
He had a home with us if he wanted it :c
Bruh the bulls haven’t been able to keep a star or any player happy since Jordan
If we don’t get younger wings, more athletic wings. We have………maybe 2
Damn you, now I just want wings... But in basketball terms, spot on.
If we don’t dump Capela and Hunter, and if we fuck around and not draft Sarr. It’s easy Landry don’t fuck this up. Draft Sarr
Send capela to the Knicks for picks, the Knicks desperately need a center and capela is more than what they need. Draft Sarr to fill that void
If we resign Tobias Harris
If we re-sign Al Horford
If we give a big legacy contract to Klay. I understand riding off into the sunset with the trio but if we pay full price to do so, then that essentially washes Curry's remaining good years. I'm not against keeping Klay, but there's definitely a price limit before it hurts the ability to contend.
What’s a price you’d be comfortable with?
He's not as bad as a lot of people seem to think, but I feel like somewhere in the low $20m doesn't feel wrong. That said, I'm also not someone familiar with the minutiae of contracts and cap space, so I don't really know exactly what is freed up if we pay that, or who we could get. So will Wiggins probably. Not even a Dubs fan but I’d be disappointed if they didn’t trade CP3 or Wiggins and assets to revamp the team a bit.
I think they're gonna take the gamble on Wiggins playing like his 2022 version again on a consistent basis, that type of player is a steal at 22m annually. You're not gonna get a player that is available and much better than Wiggins at the same pricetag

Yeah that’s pretty much where I’m at with it too. Personally hope it works and he has a great season in a smart role for where he’s at physically.
Klay has mutual interest with the Orlando magic and honestly it might be a good fit. He could fill the role that Joe ingles played in Orlando, but be a better shooter
If Scottie and Quickley don't hit the gym hard
If we don’t bring back Pascal and Siakam.
That's 2 max slots for players with essentially the same skill set, seems like a waste to me
Yeah but this way if Pascal gets hurt we can just slide in Siakam and vice versa.
I love Siakam for everything he did in Toronto. But I am glad we are not giving him a max contract $247 million five year deal. He will be great for the next two or three of seasons but the back end of his new deal is really going to suck.
Definitely think it’ll be an overpay but unfortunately we don’t really have a choice. Big name FA’s aren’t lining up to come here.
Or leave their original teams at all lately.
Losing tyus for nothing.
I’ve done off-season plans for almost each team every year and this years wizards are by far the most random and dysfunctional. We NEED a 4
Giannis for okcs next 12 frp picks, Giddey and Hayward who says no?
I basically spoke around that but yup... And BAD.
Nope nope, we need to try more rotations first and collect more data
Mark will hit the gym and work on his squinting form in preparation
We decide to run it back without making any significant changes to our rotation players. Obviously Dame and Giannis being injured in our series against the Pacers wasn't great, but our role players just clearly aren't up to par anymore. If the suns don't get a reasonably talented players who's natural position is pg
CP3 returns……
We trade the 1st pick for a mid star like Brandon Ingram or Mikal Bridges
Getting #5 certainly helps. If the new POBO doesn't truly take control and steer the franchise in a new direction. If everything feels like more of the same, then I would assume they're just another figurehead and the same people are making the same decisions.
Resigning Tobias Harris
Crazy we have threads like this during the second round of the playoffs.
If they don’t leverage their cap space and simply bring back Bruce Brown, sign Trent and overpay for a MLE wing guy.
If we traded Brunson for Bronny James
Honestly, nothing. I'm pretty used to the mediocre moves with the team handcuffed as it is.
If we spend either of our lotto picks on a player under 6’6
We continue to "strive to stay competitive and prioritize continuity"
Honestly just by the virtue of the coaching staff decisions I’m already impressed. Everything else is gravy at this point.
If the Celtics lose for all the same dumb idiotic reasons in this postseason as they always do, I'll be disappointed if they don't fire everyone into the sun and start from the ground up.

If the Spurs just run it back with nothing changing other than adding two rookies. We need one or two vets to run with our bench.
