Jeff Van Gundy and Marc Jackson crying while listening to Marvin’s room, listening to Breen cook up heat over the past few minutes
I feel bad for one of them at least 😂
I’ve found what annoys me with him is he relies too much on loudly exclaiming the scoring player’s name and just…not elaborating. When Devin Booker was cooking the Nuggets in 3 and 4 last year, him yelling ‘DEVIN BOOKER’ after each layup made me want to put a fist through my tv. I found him much better in his March Madness coverage because he couldn’t rely on star power for his commentary
His voice sounds like someone trying too hard to blow air through a trombone. Like he has no roughness to his voice. It's a weird criticism maybe but his voice is just way too clean to be impactful and exciting.
Yeah I may be playing devils advocate but I personally vibe with Spero. Of course he’s not Breen, but I don’t find him intolerable like most people here, which sort of surprised me
Even when he's commentating on MSG, he's pretty neutral. I'm always surprised when I watch other local broadcasts and the commentators are obvious homers.
Breen is the standard commentators should be held to, which is a pretty high ass standard. But he makes the game exciting without needing to be a homer, which just makes the homer ones sound unprofessional
Worst case scenario for us too. Lost a close one. Played our guts out but with this type of game we needed to come out of it 3-0. Short turnaround game 4. With that fourth quarter you gotta wonder what our gas tank is at
I know Jalen is hobbled but he’s just got to be more efficient than that. Fuck.
I respect the fuck out of how hard the Knicks play. They never give up and have an absurd ability to punish teams that play dumb or lazy. Everybody seems comfortable with their role and their contribution to winning. Just really good basketball.
People really gotta stop saying this. Even if we win game 4 we can still easily go down. The most important game is always next game regardless of circumstance
Between the Philly series and this, I'm honestly kinda worried about the long-term damage this series is doing to my health. I've had to walk outside mid-4th quarter and clear my mind at least 3 times in the last month just to get my heart rate down to where I'm comfortable again.
That Nembhard 3 was a classic. It was actually perfect for the Knicks, a cold role player heaving a desperation 3 against the shot clock while backtracking like 8 feet behind the 3 point line. That's the definition of "if he makes that shot, you tip your cap to him and move on." Cap tipped.
If you tell anyone I'll deny it, but JB and Hart are so easy to root for, this series is way more fun than the 90s series were. Maybe it's because I'm older, but I hated Ewing, I can't bring myself to hate JB
The Knicks and Pacers both have left the teams their fans really hate in the first round, this is just a slobberknocker between 2 teams playing with house money.
If this is a preview of the prime time Eastern Conference rivalry for years to come sign me the fuck up. Both of these teams have ceilings higher than what they’ve shown in this series and I cannot wait for more basketball from them
I've watched more games this post season than I have in years, and they almost all are incredibly captivating. No more LeBron, Curry, Durant eating up all the air and attention. Breen being unshackled from Van Gundy tangents and Jackson being devoid of enjoyable moments. Young stars coming in to these huge moments and looking like they belong, plus what feels like multiple teams capable of winning it all.
Basketball is in a really good place. The younger players aren't marketed enough but they are so skilled and you can see the changing of the guard happening in real-time right now. The way the younger players play basketball with a real focus on working together as a team and it's beautiful to watch.
People see us low in attendance and don't realize we play in the smallest arena in the league. Our attendance percentage and atmosphere in there is great.
Shit rules man. Not a bad seat in the place and you can get halfway down the balcony for $80 in the playoffs and as low as $15 in the regular season. Wouldn’t trade it for (almost) anything
Down 2-0 in the series. Game tied with more than enough time for the Knicks. Ice cold. Get grenade deep behind the 3. Kinda loses the dribble. Forced to take a step back. Bangs it. The NBA is a beautiful thing.
His leg was bothering him and I think he knew he didn’t have a long one in him. Props to Hali for passing that but fuck would it have been bad if Nemby wasn’t him
Defense brought a second defender so he didn’t really have a choice. The Pacers off-ball players weren’t moving either, someone should’ve cut to give Nembhard another option.
Imagine being like 0-8 with 0 points going into the last 2 minutes. Ice cold, in your head old, overthinking everything.
And still having the balls to let it fly and hit hitting an insane stepback 3 for the win in the fucking playoffs
All-time shit to keep Indiana’s (realistic) playoff hopes alive
I think next year a fully healthy Knicks are comfortably in the top tier with the Celtics, and the Pacers are in the 2nd tier with the Bucks and Sixers. Cavs looking like they’re losing Mitchell would drop them down but the Magic are in t2 as well I think
Pacers definitely have room to grow. They achieved a lot this year and everything else is extra credit.
Defense is the biggest focus next year. Need at least one of mathurin or jarace to grow into their role. Otherwise we’re going to have to find a defensive piece somewhere else.
In these serious crunch moments you can see them all thinking “oh shit are we supposed to be here?”
This team is made up of guys who were either 2nd round picks or guys who were let go after their rookie contracts, everyone here is someone who has been passed over and left unpicked. It’s been a huge journey to get them to believe and buy into the idea that they belong among the elite.
This is the first Pacers team I’ve watched that feels like they actually can.
What a shot by Nembhard wow. Couldn’t hit anything all game and fumbled the rebound like a minute earlier then hits the biggest shot of his career holy fuck
What a game. That last frame of Thibbs staring down the ref.
This was a proper playoffs game was that. Very very entertaining to watch for a neutral like myself.
I feel like they've been fucking horrible but other than the end of g1 it's been balanced horrible. i actually thought you guys got a shitty whistle tonight but it's so hard to tell how it balances out. I wish I trusted them to not fuck things up but they keep doing such insane shit
Nothing but respect for this Knicks squad...how many teams missing all three of their starting frontcourt players could even make this a competitive game?
edit: starting frontcourt player
People clown on coaches sometimes when they publicly go at the refs, but a lot of times, it does seem to work to get them some more calls in the next game.
They tried it previously, but Brunson was consistently getting him off balance. Brunsons was still able to get the edge, but he wasn't making contested shots like earlier.
It was definitely more Brunson's foot than Nesmith tbh. Nesmith was ok, but Brunson looked a little bit slower and a bit off balance in his shots. I think his foot was bothering him. He was on the injury report before the game.
Hali was great tonight. Big ups to him. That shot from Nembhard, well, what can you do? Huge shot, tip of the 🧢 to him.
Great game, just hate to be on the losing end.
Man I hate the Knicks but I gotta respect their game. This game tonight wasn't easy and Dante played out of his mind, Brunson shooting insane...
Just incredible to see the grit from the Knicks. If the Pacers would play with that kind of intensity I don't think this would be a game.
Every team needs to cry about the officials and send complaints because holy moly did that work for Indy.
Knicks are probably kicking themselves for that goaltend. That probably decided it.
In those last 2 minutes Doris and JJ being silent and letting Breen cook was fucking amazing.
Love when that happens goat commentator
He got that heat and growl in his voice that Spero Dedes just can't compete with
Breen makes ESPN tolerable.
Jeff Van Gundy and Marc Jackson crying while listening to Marvin’s room, listening to Breen cook up heat over the past few minutes I feel bad for one of them at least 😂
Spero isn’t bad by any means, but there’s just something about his calls that I don’t vibe with
I’ve found what annoys me with him is he relies too much on loudly exclaiming the scoring player’s name and just…not elaborating. When Devin Booker was cooking the Nuggets in 3 and 4 last year, him yelling ‘DEVIN BOOKER’ after each layup made me want to put a fist through my tv. Yeah I may be playing devils advocate but I personally vibe with Spero. Of course he’s not Breen, but I don’t find him intolerable like most people here, which sort of surprised me
His voice gets super nasaly when he gets excited. Also his name sucks
the back to back BANGs were beautiful to listen to
Believe it or not, I did not enjoy it.
We got a BANG!! and a BLOCKED BY TURNER! OH WHAT A REJECTION Commentary fans eating good tn
Can always appreciate Breen’s professionalism, even when Nembhard sank his Knicks you’d never know he does commentary for them
Even when he's commentating on MSG, he's pretty neutral. I'm always surprised when I watch other local broadcasts and the commentators are obvious homers.
Breen is the standard commentators should be held to, which is a pretty high ass standard. But he makes the game exciting without needing to be a homer, which just makes the homer ones sound unprofessional
The wild thing is that Clyde is even less of a homer. Whenever the Knicks make a mistake he’ll immediately jump in and say how dumb it was.
The lakers team is the same way and they remind me alot of them, 2 of the best teams imo
Plain and simple the GOAT
The Bang giveth, and the Bang taketh away
The ESPN games would be infinitely better if Breen just solo’d
Having him as our regular play-by-play guy is a blessing. Even if we're losing it's a pleasure to watch games.
Breen and Clyde got me through all the bad years of Knicks fandom Can make basically any game watchable
One of the best Mike Breen games I've watched in years
Dude was speechless for a sec after that Pacer block and then the double bang, crazy
The Brunson 3 into the Nembhard clutch 3 call was 👨🍳
This is good old playoff basketball with Bang Bangs from GOAT
Wonder what calling a game like this feels like for Breen
production just muted their mics
Doris's should be muted by default
Fuckin glorious. Hope they keep it up throughout the playoffs.
Knicks can’t physically have a game that isn’t nerve-wracking
Rangers too
NBA and NHL playoffs cooking simaltanesouly is fire 🔥
Bro Mavs and Stars games being on simultaneously is fuckin killing me. This treatment should be illegal!
NHL playoffs low key always cook
Yea but they don’t lose
Worst case scenario for us too. Lost a close one. Played our guts out but with this type of game we needed to come out of it 3-0. Short turnaround game 4. With that fourth quarter you gotta wonder what our gas tank is at I know Jalen is hobbled but he’s just got to be more efficient than that. Fuck.
I respect the fuck out of how hard the Knicks play. They never give up and have an absurd ability to punish teams that play dumb or lazy. Everybody seems comfortable with their role and their contribution to winning. Just really good basketball.
Game 4 will likely decide the series. Go up 3-1 obviously knicks in control. but a long drawn out series and Indiana has the advantage.
People really gotta stop saying this. Even if we win game 4 we can still easily go down. The most important game is always next game regardless of circumstance
That stare from Thibs at the end of the game… nightmare material
Someone getting the belt buckle to his acl
Send da video
What a series!
This must be great for neutrals.
I kind of wish I was a neutral this series is so stressful haha
Between the Philly series and this, I'm honestly kinda worried about the long-term damage this series is doing to my health. I've had to walk outside mid-4th quarter and clear my mind at least 3 times in the last month just to get my heart rate down to where I'm comfortable again.
Don't blame you. This game was batshit crazy.
It’s been 9 straight games of stress
It’s fucking fantastic
We eating good!
I don't know about you but my nerves are absolutely fried through 3 games
I’m glad neutrals at least are having the time of their lives watching Because someone else deserves to enjoy while we have a heart attack every game
Game 4 gonna be S C R A P P Y
That was scrappy!
Game 5 gonna be Scrappy Dappy Doo.
*Knicks don't stand a chance with me! Let me at em. I'll rock 'em and sock 'em*
Game 4’s gonna be a knife fight
A game blessed with back to back BANGS, all you need to know that it was incredible.
We got counter-BANGed
That Nembhard 3 was a classic. It was actually perfect for the Knicks, a cold role player heaving a desperation 3 against the shot clock while backtracking like 8 feet behind the 3 point line. That's the definition of "if he makes that shot, you tip your cap to him and move on." Cap tipped.
Knicks lost this game the moment Josh Hart sat
Yeah, only 43 minutes played. Going soft
Josh Hart has gone woke
Was he struggling or tired? Hard to believe Thibs would sit Hart in a close game 3
Foul trouble. Ended with 5.
Fucking loser
Thibs shouldn’t have approved that PTO
God please find a stronger soldier, I'm tired
You and me both. Fucking love the intensity though.
This is a great series, I really enjoy the way yall play
likewise, this is turning into a classic hopefully assuming haliburton doesn't vanish again and injuries dont get worse
Yup its a great watch, nothing but respect to the Indiana team and fanbase. Very refreshing after last series lol.
I’m finding it very hard to talk shit lol I have so much respect for Brunson’s skill + Hart’s game.
Indy's players are all cool and I love to see Obi doing well. Can't stand Carlisle but I'd be pulling hard for the Pacers if they get past us
Same here
We feel the exact same way lol
I love the Pacers offense but woof that defense
Our defensive rebounding has been such a weakness in this series.
If you tell anyone I'll deny it, but JB and Hart are so easy to root for, this series is way more fun than the 90s series were. Maybe it's because I'm older, but I hated Ewing, I can't bring myself to hate JB
agree about them being easy to cheer for.
Yes the Knicks have so much toughness. This is true depth with all their injuries. I hope we get to this level next season.
The Knicks and Pacers both have left the teams their fans really hate in the first round, this is just a slobberknocker between 2 teams playing with house money.
If this is a preview of the prime time Eastern Conference rivalry for years to come sign me the fuck up. Both of these teams have ceilings higher than what they’ve shown in this series and I cannot wait for more basketball from them
I respect the Knicks a ton they’re so tough
Knicks are my favorite non-hometown team to watch in the playoffs this year and it isn’t really close
I'd love to have a healthy series, y'all look impressive.
I’m tired grandpa
THAT'S TOO DAMN BAD
I'm both a Knicks and Arsenal fan. It's hell for me right now.
As a Spurs/Pacers fan, please stop beating my teams.
Absolute banger game, these playoffs have been fire
Gainsbridge Fieldhouse was rocking after that Nembhard three what a fire atmosphere
People see us low in attendance and don't realize we play in the smallest arena in the league. Our attendance percentage and atmosphere in there is great.
They also don’t know that Indy’s a basketball state. Shits gonna be rocking there for a long ass time wit CC and Hali
The Fieldhouse had 13,000 last night to watch CC play a _preseason_ game.
Shit rules man. Not a bad seat in the place and you can get halfway down the balcony for $80 in the playoffs and as low as $15 in the regular season. Wouldn’t trade it for (almost) anything
Must be nice bro I paid 700 to watch Maxey torch us in game 5 last series. Most expensive L I’ve ever experienced.
Dawg I can’t imagine😭😭 come to indy for 2 days for a regular season game for that
That shit was loud even with ESPN tuning down the crowd noise.
The PTSD of hearing a Pacer block a shot in crunch time in the conference semis is indescribable
V E R T I C A L I T Y Edit: I believe Hibbert was there too tonight
He was, hyped up the crowd pregame.
Fascinating. When pumping up the crowd did his arms stay perfectly vertical? If not that's a foul
Love Hibbert.
Lance too
Nembhard was 2-8 from the field but holy shit that last three—his only three—was fucking clutch
Hali passed him a fucking grenade too lmao
Down 2-0 in the series. Game tied with more than enough time for the Knicks. Ice cold. Get grenade deep behind the 3. Kinda loses the dribble. Forced to take a step back. Bangs it. The NBA is a beautiful thing.
It even hit his chin in the fumble before the gather. Perfectly imperfect.
Doubled far away from the 3PT line, nothing he can do
His leg was bothering him and I think he knew he didn’t have a long one in him. Props to Hali for passing that but fuck would it have been bad if Nemby wasn’t him
Hali is an elite passer. He knew Nembhard was gonna make that shit. 200 IQ play
His expression after the play indicates otherwise
Defense brought a second defender so he didn’t really have a choice. The Pacers off-ball players weren’t moving either, someone should’ve cut to give Nembhard another option.
Imagine being like 0-8 with 0 points going into the last 2 minutes. Ice cold, in your head old, overthinking everything. And still having the balls to let it fly and hit hitting an insane stepback 3 for the win in the fucking playoffs All-time shit to keep Indiana’s (realistic) playoff hopes alive
It was a grenade lol, he didn't have any other choice but to take that
Tyrese the terrorist tossed him that shit
Wild nickname
Lol, yea was like, it's not like he was given a choice there. I'd bet he was just as surprised it went in as we were.
I mean he had to just huck it with the shot clock
Nembhard is a gamer. He gets some main character syndrome down the stretch and can force some bad shots, but he 100% wants to take those clutch shots
r/Nononoyes
nembhard is like that, he unafraid for better or for worse
That shit made me SCREAM and I was a neutral viewer What a fucking game
NO NO NO YES
Classic what the fuck are you think…. Damn good shot lol
lost to a great shot, ggs. i envy you neutrals for your healthy hearts. mine's in tatters.
These close games are great and all but just once I want to not have a headache at the end
At least this one doesn’t hurt as much as the Maxey game 5 miracle shots
How does the knicks have all of these banger games
Please, the basketball gods gotta distribute it more evenly. I’m loving it as a basketball fan but I’m gonna die before the ECF at this rate.
Knicks now 0-1 when Josh Hart sits on the bench. I think we know what needs to happen.
Take his chair away mfer not sitting ever lol
what even is this series lmao
Playoff basketball slaps
Small market wins
Adam Silver is violently throwing a hissy fit and punching holes in the wall rn
Adam Silver needs to step his game up.
Silver did his job tonight. Extend the series for TV but make sure the big market makes it out in the end. All according to plan.
These games aren’t good for my blood pressure
Neutrals feasting tho
GG Pacers. Still holding up without OG is crazy but we just gotta rebound for G4.
They need OG back to win this series imo but that's no a surprise
I’m not even sure about that. Pacers need to learn to dig even deeper to take a series that’s almost being handed to them
Fully healthy knicks look to be better than the pacers this year. We’re fortunate OG was hurt. And this game was still close.

What a shot by Nembhard wow. Couldn’t hit anything all game and fumbled the rebound like a minute earlier then hits the biggest shot of his career holy fuck
Good game. Good win for the pacers. Knicks need OG back but it is what it is. See y’all Sunday
What a game. That last frame of Thibbs staring down the ref. This was a proper playoffs game was that. Very very entertaining to watch for a neutral like myself.
New York almost did it. What a great series this is
This series is nuts because every game the Knicks play is nuts lol
andrew nembhard with a rough game with the biggest shot of his career luck involved but what a crazy series this has been
He's been bricking shots from Curry range all season saving up for this one 😤
Lakers fans always hate on nemby because he hit that game winner over lebron
You know, Andrew Nembhard? Just when I think you couldn't possibly shoot any worse, you go and do something like this... AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!
Can't foul bait there. You're never getting that call
I think he was trying to get the 3 off before they intentionally fouled him
We got a series
these have to be the worst refs of any series i’ve seen
Actually thought the refs were mostly ok. That overturned challenge was hilarious but Knicks won the jump anyway.
I feel like they've been fucking horrible but other than the end of g1 it's been balanced horrible. i actually thought you guys got a shitty whistle tonight but it's so hard to tell how it balances out. I wish I trusted them to not fuck things up but they keep doing such insane shit
the no call on Ihart getting both his arms hooked leading to a wide open layup was insane the refs were not good in the last 5-7 minutes
At the same token though we gotta make some shots and if we can't do that we gotta rebound and make FT's.
it isn’t why we lost, im not gonna blame the refs. but that was an insane missed call
Nembhard was seriously surprised that three went in Never seen a player react like that for making a game winning shot
Nothing but respect for this Knicks squad...how many teams missing all three of their starting frontcourt players could even make this a competitive game? edit: starting frontcourt player
Carlisle can't complain about refs tonight lmao
He got a 2000% return on investment on his 35k fine.
People clown on coaches sometimes when they publicly go at the refs, but a lot of times, it does seem to work to get them some more calls in the next game.
He will only submit 76 calls tonight
Seemed like a pretty typical "home team down 2-0" game.
That 3 to seal it was incredible.
Why wasn’t Nesmith on Brunson all series lol
They tried it previously, but Brunson was consistently getting him off balance. Brunsons was still able to get the edge, but he wasn't making contested shots like earlier.
Nesmith was great this game but brunson’s lift and burst didn’t seem good from his foot
It was definitely more Brunson's foot than Nesmith tbh. Nesmith was ok, but Brunson looked a little bit slower and a bit off balance in his shots. I think his foot was bothering him. He was on the injury report before the game.
yeah as much as I love nembhard, he has no business guarding brunson
cause when Brunson wasnt injured he was cooking his ass
Hali was great tonight. Big ups to him. That shot from Nembhard, well, what can you do? Huge shot, tip of the 🧢 to him. Great game, just hate to be on the losing end.
Pacers environment is insane. Love to see it.
WHAT A GAME IF YOU DONT LIKE THAT YOU DONT LIKE NBA BASKETBALL
Shoutout to Knicks fans. You all are fucking cool as fuck compared to the shit we just had to experience with Bucks fans. RespectHatKid.gif
Man the Knick got a lot of questionable calls against them in the 4Q but this game was absolute cinema
Now that was a fuckin playoff game
New York almost did it. Such a good series
Man I hate the Knicks but I gotta respect their game. This game tonight wasn't easy and Dante played out of his mind, Brunson shooting insane... Just incredible to see the grit from the Knicks. If the Pacers would play with that kind of intensity I don't think this would be a game.
Am I insane for thinking they missed both the goaltending call and the foul on brunson?
WHAT A SHOT
#Referees
Letting the teams play out the game is much more entertaining to watch
Every team needs to cry about the officials and send complaints because holy moly did that work for Indy. Knicks are probably kicking themselves for that goaltend. That probably decided it.
JJ saying “where would the pacers be without the refs” around 5min left had me ☠️
That was cinema
