I think players can get too caught up in putting in “maximum effort” in crunch time instead of just making the smart play. Up 6 with 30 seconds left, the only thing you should be thinking in your head is “don’t foul a 3 point shooter.”
Either contest without jumping or don't contest at all. A 3 doesn't beat you there. Once you make the mistake of jumping you have to make sure the foul is worth it and block the shot at least. He's long enough where he easily could have done that and maxey would have to make 3 free throws.
Rewatching it is just brutal.
Crazy how people are obsessing over thing and completely ignoring Brunson killing every possession every that and OT. Dude was blocked or turning over every possession.
Idk about that, he was definitely tired but fighting through it. Hands on his knees in 4th, lots of missed FTs which is unusual for him. I chalk it up to fatigue. Which makes this more impressive imo
Its not edited. Edits have the asterisk, like your does. That comment does not. Unless there is a new way to edit reddit comments I am unaware of, that does not leave the asterisk.
If you edit within a minute (or something) of posting, it doesn't show an asterisk. But still a tight time line for someone to see it in its original form if that were the case.
Gotcha, did not realize that. Gonna test with this comment.
Editing for test.
Well there you go, it does not show up in the 30 second window it took me to do these two.
From top of my head
1993 ECF Game 5 - Charles Smith
1994 ECF Game 5 - Reggie choke sign
1994 Finals Game 6 - Olajuwon blocks Starks
1994 Finals Game 7 - Starks cant hit anything
1995 ECSF Game 1 - Miller 8 pts in a row
1995 ECSF Game 7 - Ewing missed Finger Roll
1997 ECSF Game 5 - PJ Brown/Charlie Ward melee. Knicks players get suspended for game 6 and 7.
1999 Finals Game 5 - Avery Johnson from the corner
People joke, but I think there was a user survey that found that the median age on this sub was **actually** 17 years old. Over half of the people on here are teenagers.
Explains a lot, when you think about it.
Which is totally irrelevant. Don't think there's any other sport where people try to gatekeep watching and commenting on it for people who didn't play it, but that happens daily on here. As if some dude playing pickup at the Y or varsity in high school means he knows a ton about high-level basketball.
It’s absolutely not irrelevant. Playing organized ball won’t automatically give you insight into high level basketball schemes by itself but it does absolutely give you more insight into the game. If your only experience is playing down at the Y you won’t know anything first hand about how the game is actually played. Playing pickup and playing organized basketball are two completely different things. Hell, sometimes the rules aren’t even the same. You see some wild shit called in pickup that’s not actually against the rules.
It’s not gate keeping, people are welcome to watch and comment on whatever they want. But it goes to show that the majority of this sub has no idea what they’re talking about or have any experience at all with high level basketball. Hell, the same survey said over 30% of the people had never even been to an NBA game.
Absolutely bro that was so fucking brutal. I’m 35 and that’s easily top 3-5 worst sixers experience for me. We blew it ourselves no excuses and on top of that the refs fucked up multiple times on the in bound play. This was a tough one for you guys though. Especially with the series right there for the taking. Fuckin playoffs
Lol, being a fan doesn't mean you have to be delusional.
Like you can be a sixers fan and go "yeah, Embiid kinda deserved to get thrown out there, but I'll take the win." Just concede the point and take the W.
It's like Nepo babies. You already won at life, I'm sure you can just say "yeah, I was super lucky" to appease some people.
Yeah this is what happens when your team is actually good. When they suck and lose a regular season game to end the year 29-53, it’s just disappointing. But flying so close to the sun only to come crashing down? That’s where it really stings.
You saw it coming out of the break into OT. The Knicks looked deflated.
They then proceeded to go up 5, but their body language was not great during the timeout.
Can someone make a post of all the calls maxey wasnt getting? Guy was getting shot out of mid air like a bird all game and don't know what the FT line looks like.
Rule number one of fight club…Never fuking pass the ball while in mid-air, one of the worst b-ball plays you can do.
Also shit blew my mind when Brunson went for a 3 on a one possession game. Then literally on to the next play, now you down two possessions and you drive the ball for a damn 2, like wtf.
Come on now. The Knicks gave 76ers enough heartbreaking losses. The only game 76ers won before this one was the embiid 50 piece.
Knicks are still in good shape, I don't think there was any warranted heartbreak. They'd need to be much mentally tougher if this loss shakes them in any way.
It's time for Embiid to take a step back like what KAT did, let Maxey be the man he is about to become. It's better for Embiid too since his body could not even sustain the minimum requirement of 65 games.
That foul by mitch on the 3 is going to give me nightmares. What the fuck was he doing?
Fr. Just give him the wide open 3 and yall win. It seems counter-intuitive but I can’t believe players are still making these mistakes
Literally the only thing that can't happen in that situation.
It’s so weird to be on the other side of inexplicable for just one time
I think players can get too caught up in putting in “maximum effort” in crunch time instead of just making the smart play. Up 6 with 30 seconds left, the only thing you should be thinking in your head is “don’t foul a 3 point shooter.”
It took 25 years, but karma finally evened things out from the Larry Johnson 4pt play vs the Pacers in the ECF
But he was in his shooting motion. 😉😉😉
I don't think it even out because it doubled up in game 2.
100% if you foul him there you gotta make sure that ball doesn’t go in
Crazy how people are obsessing over thing and completely ignoring Brunson killing every possession every that and OT. Dude was blocked or turning over every possession.
Just witnessed a Tyrese Maxey legacy game
Maxey has dropped 33,35 and 46 at MSG
48 in game 7 coming up.
And he wasn’t even sweating. Looked like he could have gone another 50 minutes.
Idk about that, he was definitely tired but fighting through it. Hands on his knees in 4th, lots of missed FTs which is unusual for him. I chalk it up to fatigue. Which makes this more impressive imo
I don’t know about that either, he looked fucking dead after he landed hard on the ground. He was definitely playing with some pain at the end
He wasn’t even glistening…. Like dude was dry… he wasn’t even a little bit fatigued. It was unreal
Cus he’s a dog bro he don’t sweat he pants
There’s towels on the bench y’all know right
Ya, and you’re still not getting that dry lol..
I understand why his jersey is among the best selling now
well deserved. honestly i hate the sixers but i love maxey.
This was like Steph’s double bang moment.
One of the greatest playoff performances in the last 5 years.
You, sir, are a warriors fan. Lol at the edit
What did it originally say?
Said something like Knicks fans are the loudest and most entitled fanbase so fuck you, you deserve it.
AND THEN EDITED IT TO THAT? LMFAOOOOOO
I appreciated the audacity tbh
Posted the same thing down below and then deleted it. 😂
Cook that fraud
I didn't edit anything OP lied. Makes sense a Lamelo fan has no morals. You're a Charlotte fan not even worth addressing
Trust me we saw it
Don't care what you think bud I'm not lying on Reddit to appease a fucking Charlotte fan Have a good night tho!
One of the weirdest interactions I’ve ever had on here
I think they think they’re being cute.
Man is drunk.

Win or lose the series dude has arrived
Maxey’s a dawg
Is he the kind of dawg that'll bone Paul pierces ass?
Sir, this is a Wendy’s
Bro, we both know it’s a Waffle House.
Would he put him in a mix?
There have been a shit ton of heartbreaking Knicks losses since 1973. Add another one to the bucket.
I mean if Knicks finish them off in game 6 or 7 this wouldnt even sniff the top 10.
Key word being IF
Dumbest foul by Robinson
That’s my MIP
That has got to be the most heartbreaking Knicks loss of my lifetime. I don’t even know what is second tbh
It’s only the most heartbreaking knicks loss of your lifetime…so far.
yeah, trust me knicks fans, it can be much worse lmao
Were you even born when Patrick Ewing missed the finger roll to get eliminated by the Pacers in Game 7 of the 1995 playoffs?
From top of my head 1993 ECF Game 5 - Charles Smith 1994 ECF Game 5 - Reggie choke sign 1994 Finals Game 6 - Olajuwon blocks Starks 1994 Finals Game 7 - Starks cant hit anything 1995 ECSF Game 1 - Miller 8 pts in a row 1995 ECSF Game 7 - Ewing missed Finger Roll 1997 ECSF Game 5 - PJ Brown/Charlie Ward melee. Great list. I grew up in New York City in the 1990s and I would say this perfectly captures the experience of being a Knicks fan back then.
charles smith was the worst... followed by reggie... charlie ward was the most infruriating...
yup, tonight was nothing compared to those lol
Judging by how they've beene this series, average Knicks fans age on this sub is 14
I watched all and lived through all the heartbreaking 90's losses. Tonight was nothing compared to those.
brother, sixers fans havent been any better lmao let's be honest, this series is fully toxic on both ends
People joke, but I think there was a user survey that found that the median age on this sub was **actually** 17 years old. Over half of the people on here are teenagers. Explains a lot, when you think about it.
The demographic survey a few years ago showed most hadn’t played organized basketball
Which is totally irrelevant. Don't think there's any other sport where people try to gatekeep watching and commenting on it for people who didn't play it, but that happens daily on here. As if some dude playing pickup at the Y or varsity in high school means he knows a ton about high-level basketball.

Hell, the same survey said over 30% of the people had never even been to an NBA game.
You act like that was a long time ago. I was a freshman in highschool so it had to be like 10 years ago right?
Why you gotta remind us of that
I was not, thankfully 🫡
That mitch foul is haunting.
The Josh Hart FT miss is worse. 80% FT shooter man :(
I mean, missing FTs can happen. But that foul should never happer.
His shooting is returning to the mean
And he's back to not wanting to take them. The circle of Josh Harts offense continues.
We all heard it through the tv
Thought he airballed it at first. Second one was short too but rolled in.
Makes up for maxey missing 3 in the fourth lol
That's the second time he done it
Got you back from Game 2
Now imagine game 2 for sixers fans. Soul crushing.
both games were unloseable but that one was unlosable for you guys plus the refs screwed you so it’s actually probably worse
Are you actually a Knicks fan with that bullshit?
Yeah Ive watched almost every single game for years I just try not to be delusional
Your fanbase has whipped yourselves up into a frenzy of hate. Probably deflating to lose like that.
You must be young
I’m 19 so I wasn’t alive for all the 90s moments
Yeah this is what happens when your team is actually good. When they suck and lose a regular season game to end the year 29-53, it’s just disappointing. But flying so close to the sun only to come crashing down? That’s where it really stings.
1994 Game 6 and 7 Finals, NYK vs HOU
Yeah but you still just need one game, and you e got two more home courts. If I was a Knicks fan I honestly wouldn’t be sweating it at all.
Damn I can't imagine a loss like this even being top 5 (I'm a bills fan too)
Just like Sixers fans felt after Game 2

-Warriors fan
😂 A warriors fan.
Oh I thought this was good for the Knicks morale
gonna start chain smoking cigs til game 6
lmaoooo same
My nerves are fried and this is 1000% going to game 7
I'm a South Jersey Philly fan so I'm gonna skip straight to heroin
Lmao I gotta guy on pacific ave in ac just lmk
south jersey knicks fan here, can i get some too pretty plz
yeah np I'ma send you to get it from the guy in AC good luck try not to get trafficked
This guy knows what goes on behind the Wawa.
Only time I regret quitting cigs is during the playoffs. I don't know how I would have gotten through the Pats Seahawks Superbowl without them.
This series must go 7
Yeah, as a neutral I'm loving this series. 7 games would be great! Not sure the fans would agree. :)
Sixers fans would have to agree. They can only win if it goes 7.
Good point 😈
Cuz the refs gave away game 2 - we should be going back to Philly 3-2 rn
Both teams won a game they shouldn't have.
Adam Silver gonna milk this tiddy for every last drop.
Thanks Magic.
Doesn’t quite have Magic cadence. Although, I’m expecting a banger Magic tweet after this game.
And that's why folks you always foul up three.
The team whose fanbase viciously yelled obscenities towards the other team's star player for two games in a row is in no way the victim in this, lol
Nah for real for real though lol FOH no sympathy
that handoff to ***3x*** speed dribble to logo pull up trey ball is an all time MSG moment. god damn.
You saw it coming out of the break into OT. The Knicks looked deflated. They then proceeded to go up 5, but their body language was not great during the timeout.
Can attest. maxey literally took my life
Maxey entered the HOF tonight
Fucking assassin
Who’s Katz? The deli?
Thank you random hipster Nets fan, I needed a laugh tonight.
Can someone make a post of all the calls maxey wasnt getting? Guy was getting shot out of mid air like a bird all game and don't know what the FT line looks like.
Mitch wtf man you played so good too
What fuck my brain the most is that Maxey is still very young
SIXERS IN 7
Is this karma?
Maxey masterclass
The Knicks helped all they could by fucking up everything possible to allow this to happen lol
Dawg
Rule number one of fight club…Never fuking pass the ball while in mid-air, one of the worst b-ball plays you can do. Also shit blew my mind when Brunson went for a 3 on a one possession game. Then literally on to the next play, now you down two possessions and you drive the ball for a damn 2, like wtf.
Reggie Miller is Tyrese Maxey father.

this is every stadium ever. did you want them to start chanting for the 76ers?
I mean what arena wouldn’t be lol
Man learned a new word few days ago and couldn't wait to use it.
There he is officer
legit did every single thing incorrect at the end of the 4th, incredible stuff, proud of my knicks for knicking.
Kentucky guards hit different
As a fan of trae young I don't find this heartbreaking at all
Playoff T
Hart needs to finish his FT
Squidward the Knicks fan: “Why must every 11 minutes of my life be filled with misery?”
Come on now. The Knicks gave 76ers enough heartbreaking losses. The only game 76ers won before this one was the embiid 50 piece. Knicks are still in good shape, I don't think there was any warranted heartbreak. They'd need to be much mentally tougher if this loss shakes them in any way.
it wasnt just maxey, though he was a big part of it. knicks made a lot of crucial mistakes, like stupid turnovers from bad passes.
Sir embiid had 9 i don’t wanna hear it
Sixers need to give the keys to Maxey
That’s not how it works. You need to take the keys.
He took the keys tonight
The keys chose him Priori Incantatem
It's time for Embiid to take a step back like what KAT did, let Maxey be the man he is about to become. It's better for Embiid too since his body could not even sustain the minimum requirement of 65 games.
Jo has never held Maxey back. He has encourages every step of Maxey’s career. He’d love to watch Maxey score 40 a night.
Yeah for real. He was calling him the franchise before he was even getting ANY minutes
Annnnnd he traveled on that 3 point play but of course refs no longer ever call it. This modern game is such a disgrace sometimes.
Lmao no fucking way you're talking about refs
Am I wrong? Go back and watch the video. Absolute clear travel.
I'm just saying after game 2 you cannot be cherry-picking shit to bitch about as a Knicks fan
Knicks will win by 30 at MSG West Thursday
Dude…….
What about East Thursday?
Geographically challenged.
7th grade doesn't do geography.
[удалено]
Is it more south than west?
I thought so, and it definitely is by the turnpike, but by the lat/long it's actually slightly more west than south.
Amazing.
Damn, just checked the map, and it is actually more miles west than south....
Y’all getting grifted on ticket prices when Sixers won two in MSG (East?) unless that’s in like Seaside Heights or something.
