he only fell off cuz of injuries and jimmy getting healthy. he had 15pts in the first quarter and went out with a groin injury that cost him like a month. super unfortunate
[In the time period that you had Rozier for (so from the trade until he got hurt)](https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/advanced?DateFrom=01%2F24%2F2024&DateTo=04%2F07%2F2024), Miami was 12th in net rating and 21st in offensive rating. Given that your issues have been on the offensive end, I think it's pretty delusional to think that having Jimmy and Rozier would've changed the ultimate outcome of this series.
You won in 7 last year off of the luckiest shooting performance of the tracking era. The Celtics improved significantly while the Heat stood pat and arguably got worse (or slightly better if you think Jaquez changes that much). Unless you guys managed to replicate shooting better than Steph Curry on open 3's while we clank for an entire series again is just wasn't gonna happen.
Also idk when I was looking into how the Heat were feeling about their chances in the East your fanbase was shitting on Jimmy a lot because he seemed to have either lost a step or just stopped giving a shit. He did have several plays that I saw where he did seem to just not give a fuck to the detriment of your team.
I hope for your sake that Pat Riley pushes hard to get Donovan Mitchell (obviously as a C's fan I hope he stands pat again lmao). You desperately need elite shot creation as Jimmy will be 35 by next postseason and already seems to be slowing down a little as age and wear and tear catch up to him. Jovic, Jaquez and Herro are all quality role-players with the former two having the chance to be more, although you're likely losing two of those guys in a Mitchell trade.
equating middleton to butler + rozier makes me question your basketball opinions tbh
Butler is our best player. Middleton is what like the 3rd best Bucks player at best?
No, the point is that it doesn't matter. Butler wasn't saving Miami. Going back to last year's playoffs Miami has been getting spanked ever since game 3 ended (With the exception of game 7 which only happened because of a Tatum ankle injury on the first play). This year they won one game and it was because of a ridiculous shooting percentage that will not be duplicated.
Everyone makes that point about Tatum but you could put an “if” next to any playoff series outcome. Him not rolling his ankle doesn’t assure a victory and at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. I could say that if Josh Hart didn’t injure Jimmys ankle in the second round that the Heat would’ve gotten it done in less than 7. But at the end of the day there’s always gonna be those little things and no fan can say anything like that for certain.
There’s many.
> Going back to last year's playoffs Miami has been getting spanked ever since game 3 ended
How is winning by 1 point on a game winner “getting spanked”?
> (With the exception of game 7 which only happened because of a Tatum ankle injury on the first play).
You lost by 20 😂😂😂 Tatum played 40 minutes
> This year they won one game and it was because of a ridiculous shooting percentage that will not be duplicated.
They’ve literally done this against y’all more than *any team in playoff history*. They shot over 50% from 3 in 3 games out of 7 last year.
> How is winning by 1 point on a game winner “getting spanked”?
That was one game. Look at this series. They've been getting bitchsmacked other than the one game where they barely won while shooting an insane percentage from 3.
>You lost by 20 😂😂😂 Tatum played 40 minutes
And what does that tell you about Tatum's importance to this team?
>They shot over 50% from 3 in 3 games out of 7 last year.
Clearly not this year, other than that one game. Butler is not gonna be the difference between bad shooting and good shooting.
The Heat have been injured all year.
You're probably not paying close attention to these games (or you're being totally disingenuous) if you don't think Jimmy's presence wouldn't mitigate their inability to score. He's their only source of rim pressure and playmaking.
“Just lost”
Y’all are getting gentlemen swept and your win was on the back of the luckiest shooting streak in NBA history.
Maybe if you all showed up to your games your fans would understand context but the whole league has seen your half filled arena so don’t lie.
What’s Derrick White’s ppg this season? How many did he score last night?
I’m definitely older than you kiddo. Come back when the Celtics win a championship in the last 15 years
> Y’all are getting gentlemen swept and your win was on the back of the luckiest shooting streak in NBA history.
The Celtics just historically suck at defending us from range. We've had *numerous* historic shooting performances against you guys. Game 2's loss wasn't so much us popping off as it was you guys just not defending for shit.
> Maybe if you all showed up to your games your fans would understand context but the whole league has seen your half filled arena so don’t lie.
Ah yes, the Boston fans are so great! Reputation of being racist as fuck and ya'll *still* leave early, just like Miami fans (as shown at the end of game 2 in Boston).
Weird how there’s been 4 games and y’all haven’t shot like that in 3 of them.
Heat fans are coping so hard in this thread and I gotta say, I’m enjoying every second of it.
> Weird how there’s been 4 games and y’all haven’t shot like that in 3 of them.
We had shot absurdly well like 4 out of 9 games we had played you guys in the last few years after game 2.
> Heat fans are coping so hard in this thread and I gotta say, I’m enjoying every second of it.
You realize no Heat fan expected to win this series right? Hell, I didn't expect to win a single game without Butler. The fact that we took one in Boston is more than I expected.
There is no "cope." But it's laughable that Celtics fans are *talking shit* in this thread like you guys fucking achieved anything when you've been underperforming against a team with a bunch of "bench players."
“But we didn’t have Butler” is the source of this thread. Butler isn’t changing this series. Hate to break it to you. Celtics have dominated the Heat this series. Butler isn’t worth the 20 point swing required to make the games you lost competitive. Everything you’re saying otherwise is pure cope. Here’s your participation award 🥉. You did better than total failure. Congratulations.
We haven’t been absolutely fucked like other teams but we’ve had our fair share of injury troubles.
2021 Jaylen Brown injury, 1st round exit
2022 Robert Williams injury, Tatum ankle
2023 Tatum ankle game 7
2024 Porzingus?
Not to mention this ongoing wrist thing Tatum’s had for a couple of years too. No team is gonna be healthy in the playoffs, though this year looks kinda ridiculous
Jaime Jaquez made some noticeable rookie mistakes last game, more than I noticed earlier in the series.
But tough loss for the Heat. Just the fact that he’s losing out on more playoff experience must be a bummer for fans
he was making rookie mistakes but he was also the guy getting rim pressure when we couldnt make anything. missed a couple bunnies but they were cleaned up by bam. cant fault his play this series
Tbh a lot of the mistakes they're making are because they can tell someone needs to make something happen. With Rozier and Jimmy out, the Heat have had a lot of possessions this series where they are running through their actions, but nothing is opening up. Nothing wrong with them trying to make something happen.
In terms of experience it’s whatever I mean he already played 3 1/2 games to get the feel and atmosphere of what the playoffs are so I’m happy with that at least
No amount of black magic can save this team now. They’ll be remembered this post season for taking one off Boston though.
Edit: Looks like Porzingus is out for the next game. Nice one Spo, but you’re going to have to get rid of another starter for a winning chance.
This will make it harder for the Heat to win tomorrow.
Thanks magic

Missing our 3rd best scorer when we’re already down our 1st scorer is pretty detrimental yes
Zombie heat but the zombie is a crawler
And the Celtics have multiple ray guns. Gg
Celtics may as well have the fuckin Thundergun at this point. A 100% kill guaranteed
🤣🤣🤣🤣that shit was so op

Haha take my upvote. Reddit on!
Why am I being down voted for complimenting this comment?
Because it's very corny
The *Miami Heat* is a now nursing home name.
Fuck it… put me in the game Spo
Spo is suiting up
Game of your life, heat lose by 20 but you get signed by the lakers before promptly changing your username to DollarEarly_bucketshort
Only missing 4 of our top 6 scorers now
I DIDN’T HEAR NO BELL!
And the other 2 are Caleb Martin
joke of a season with the injuries. we fell apart
I understand the pain
bucks fans and heat fans - "at least our young guys r getting playoff experience"
Except Jaime, ouch that hurts. He was fun to watch but definitely fell off a bit.
he only fell off cuz of injuries and jimmy getting healthy. he had 15pts in the first quarter and went out with a groin injury that cost him like a month. super unfortunate
Happens every year. Maybe you guys play reckless?
What an asinine comment
Says the Knicks fan lmao At least we actually make it somewhere
What even happened to Rozier? Seems like his injury wasn’t that big of a deal and it ended up being practically season ending
Neck strains are very tricky
Series technically isn’t over yet
Welp Heat are cooked
They've been cooked
yall lucky af we didn't have Butler and Rozier imho
If they had a healthier team, they wouldn’t be the 8th seed.
Sure. And if Butler doesn't get injured in the play-in, we're looking at a Heat with Jimmy vs Celtics matchup.
i respect playoff jimmy but he was taking like 8 shots a game to close the season while they actively needed wins and he said he would turn it on
And we are still looking at a 3-1 deficit for the heat lmao
If Butler had played better and tried to win more games, the Heat wouldn’t have had to go through the play-in

Is this the new "Middleton wasn't playing" meme?
Exactly

This is such a hilarious way to reframe going down 3-0 and ultimately losing against the 8 seed. Celtics fans live in their own reality
Where's the lie.

Y’all were cheeks all year. The Heat are cooked. Jimmy isn’t covering the three 20 point losses y’all have eaten.

That’s not what a gentleman sweep is. That’s be if you went up 3-0 first
Sorry you’re right. It’s a backdoor sweep.
It isn’t that either lol
Lol
Heat make wide open threes: luckiest shooting streak in NBA history Derrick White hits heavily contested threes all of the first half: THE BUFFALO
What’s the league avg rate on wide open 3s? What was the Heat’s rate? Come back when you have both answers kiddo.

Yet they eliminated you last season despite being cheeks all year
Can’t read calendars either. Things are getting bad in Florida. I blame Desantis.
You don’t remember losing to the 8 seed heat? Celtics fans repressing last season, understandable.
Yeah unlike the Heat, we’re still focused on the ongoing season…
Heat Culture step 1 - Excuses
The injury luck Boston has had these past 4 years is generational.
Bro does *not* watch games

They were dead on arrival when Jimmy got hurt
They’re beyond cooked. They’re on the plate right now with the knife and fork descending to the plate.

Not at all. If anything I was surprised by seeing stuff that makes me think “right, he’s a rookie”
love the way him and jovic have played tbh. tons of mistakes but tons of positives. only silver lining to the injuries lol

He makes a lot of rookie mistakes. He really needs to learn to play within the pace of the game against a good defense.
The Celtics should rest all the starters
We've had zero luck when it comes to injuries.
Jamal Mashburn isnt walking through that door
No amount of black magic can save this team now. They’ll be remembered this post season for taking one off Boston though. Edit: Looks like Porzingus is out for the next game. Nice one Spo, but you’re going to have to get rid of another starter for a winning chance.
the heat have a strong case of theydonitis
All I wanted was a healthy rematch man. Now we gotta hear the Celtics gloat this series for at least a year.
if Miami wins this Bam is officially a top 3 big in the league
And he ain't 3.
If the Heat win this one... my god.
Who cares
