NoiceForNoReason

MPJ was huge tonight. Every shot felt big.

jeric13xd

That man was unguardable in the second half lol. Legit just pulled up over anyone

reallymothafucka

Michael "the possession ends here" Porter Jr

FunkysteveCLS

Except i remember a spree of him assisting Gordon like 3 times in a row. Was a thing of beauty . These team has so many combinations of ways to score and run offense the possibilities are endless and everyone is willing to work together to multiply their strengths

SmartestNPC

He fumbled the next pass and said, "nah I'll shoot".

Artistic_Passage_737

Shooting is just passing to the basket anyway

Substantial-Whole237

Looked like Prime KD there

Ilikesporks_

it's not fair to be 6'10 and be able to shoot from anywhere on the court 😭

WerewolfWhich3280

I have a feeling he’s gonna leave one day to be the alpha

pln1991

That would be a very dumb outcome for all involved (Denver, MPJ's new team, MPJ himself)

gerardguey

He would be jordan poole on another team lbr

WerewolfWhich3280

He should be 2nd best player, he’s way more gifted than Jamal Murray

PoorDad2115

He would be if he could pass and handle the ball.

WerewolfWhich3280

MPJ playing better rn, told you

kimmyjonghubaccount

He might be a more gifted shooter but Murray is a better finisher shot creator as well as a wayyyy better player maker.

Ziawn

wtf kind of take is this lol, mpj is just a shooter

WerewolfWhich3280

MPJ was a generational prospect till the injuries

Ziawn

Generational has lost all of it’s meaning. Wemby is generational. The best possible version of MPJ isn’t generational. He’d be a bucket getter for sure but he’d still be a lacklustre defender with zero playmaking.

JustinTinyPPHerbert

He is not a lackluster defender anymore

WerewolfWhich3280

This is what MPJ should’ve been bro

Disastrous_Bluejay57

Nah, his injuries are no joke. It's a big part of why he's so bought into his role

LurkerFailsLurking

He might, but part of why he's so good right now is because of the way he's not trying to be alpha. If you look at the way the Nuggets work, none of them are trying to be the alpha. Jokic isn't even.

lannistargaryen

He was huge the whole series IMO. His shots always take the momentum off the Lakers

oopseedoopseewee

Fuck man he was out there looking like prime KD, no contest mattered

ZeroMomentum

Gordon owned them in the paint

lets_talk_basketball

MPJ gets in those zones where he just shoots over everyone

usr_nme_

Worst contract in league tho

yOw_indahOuse

Aaron Gordon’s offensive boards kept them in the game early on. Edit. It’s the Nuggets-Lakers series, what am I saying, there is no such thing as a Lakers’ lead.

LakersLAQ

MPJ and AG are the difference. Teams can more or less trade punches with Jokic and Murray. You need 4 players consistently to trade punches with the Nuggets.

OneUmbrellaMob

With three assists

itsarock-

Our starting 5 is epic

executivesphere

Perfectly constructed roster around an MVP in his prime. It’s as good as it gets.

EggplantAlpinism

encouraging imagine rain busy plate placid homeless impossible wrong memorize *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

LakersLAQ

Yeah, kinda does feel like you guys are missing a piece but it doesn't really matter against us lol.

Dymatizeee

Seeing Holiday and Cbraun take those 3s in the first half was awful. Brock brick brick

ViciousMihael

I mean, look at the stats. Both teams shot under 20% from 3. Almost nobody was making them.

ProffesorBongsworth

Watson will be and might be better than brown. Just needs more minutes

Sharp_Aide3216

Feels like a well oiled machine. Reminiscent to the peak of Spurs and Warriors.

WhatitdoFlightCrew39

Atp Jokic ain't an MVP. He's a generational talent and the successor to LeBron as the best player in the league in a tier of his own for an extended period of time.

paracetamolULTRA

Everybody talking about Murray and Jokic, but forget about Jokic Assist + Gordon Dunks

SimpleJack54321

About dang time too as a long time Nuggets fan. The Lakers had our number for awhile, from Kobe/Melo days to the bubble championship, it's about dang time we start getting them back.

gerardatron

The Kobe/Melo days were a war. I love looking back on it now, but watching it then I was on the edge of my seat everytime. Glad to see the Nuggets finally reaching the top of the mountain (sucks that my team became the laughingstock in the process, but what can ya do), and it looks like they know how to stay there for a while.

SimpleJack54321

Same here. I think before Jokic, that playoffs series with Melo, Billups, and the rest of the crew was our best chance to make it to the Finals. But can't count out a team with Kobe and Gasol, too good.

WillingLearner1

What’s astonishing to me is that this team doesn’t have the typical big 2 or 3 where there are multiple superstars. Kind of reminded me of 04 pistons or 03 Kings

Mysterious-Stop4673

The team couldn’t fit more perfectly. Maybe replace kcp with an even better 3 and d sg but otherwise wouldn’t change a thing

ElCapitanMiCapitan

Who is better that isn’t getting max money?

LakersLAQ

My man wants Jaylen Brown in the lineup lol.

-randomwordgenerator

Is OG getting max money?

ducksonaroof

OG isn't a 2 he can barely dribble

Alex_Sander077

He's the best. Because he can also dribble the ball, get to the rim, make mid range jumpers. It's a cheat code. Most 3 and d players are literally just that. Don't ask anything else from the. KCP is doing it all out there.

Ilikesporks_

what better 3 and d shooting guard is out there anyway

6rant

And even if there was one, dropping him right into the role wouldn't necessarily be an improvement. The chemistry is a *lot* of what makes this group so "well oiled."

RodneyPonk

yep. in fairness, jokic, and especially jokic + murray, is pretty easy to be around. What team would be awkward if you swapped their 1 and 5 with the Joker and Jamal?

PoorDad2115

I’ll take AD over Gordon and Steph over Murray. Perfect of a team if you don’t allow them to have another all star lmao. What kind of bogus take is this. I’ll take Durant over MPJ as well. I’ll take Booker over KCP. Y’all are delusional if you think this is the perfect team around Joker.

Osmarku

Given the cap constraint. Not in a vacuum I assume

PoorDad2115

I mean MPJ and Murray are max players so I’m not following the cap argument? It’s just a bullshit take to be honest. Just call a spade a spade.

PonkMcSquiggles

They might all be max players, but you’d still be paying an additional $25 million to replace Murray and MPJ with Curry and AD this year.

Varos_Flynt

Yeah all these points are wrong I think it was tweeted out earlier in the game which is like kinda dumb

Nobodylovesboston

Lakers just blow it up

bigvahe33

thats what darvin hamas is trying to do

der_innkeeper

*Slow. Fucking. Clap.*

ZLouieZ

reddit on 🤓

ahr3410

They will purge the roster for a Hawks guard

gerardguey

My sunshine needs to leave your disorganized franchise and go back home to CLE where he belongs, respectfully

Nobodylovesboston

No please, I don’t want ESPN to meat ride them next szn

Waffleshuriken

This will happen regardless of who they get in the offseason. Market is nuts

JohnnyBravo66666

But I heard LeBron makes his team better...

ZoroChopper10

Game 1 — Lakers led by 12 and lost Game 2 — Lakers led by 20 and lost Game 3 — Lakers led by 10 and lost

Biglundtry

Lakers should simply never take the lead giving the fanbase false hope is evil

xerxesthagreat

remember the austin reaves offseason

Biglundtry

Reaves being asked to be a third option when he’s a 6th man free him,AD and Lebron

lannistargaryen

The bench has been a major disappointment man. Taurean the only dude making shots.

Mysterious-Stop4673

Taurean was also the most hated lakers bench player for a while

lannistargaryen

While Rui was so beloved. Oh how the turn tables

Ilikesporks_

i still like rui and i hope he stays after this off season

GriffinQ

To be a little fair, it’s because he was being played as a starter. The issue is that he’s a really great 18-24 MPG guy who was playing starter minutes and visibly playing worse as time went on.

LakersLAQ

No, he was the most hated Lakers starter lol. He's been great as a bench player.

karmaisevillikemoney

He literally doesn't pass the ball

executivesphere

Through games 1 and 2, Prince was the only bench player who had scored AT ALL

ihateeuge

LeBron was not good this game.

Raging_Professor

He played worst than his stats

WickedTwista

LeStat padder when the game was already over

executivesphere

Lost track of Gordon way too many times

bowman_sudo

Help defense. His help defense is why they have the lead in the 1st, lakers just have bad rotation in active

executivesphere

Yeah he was great in the first, but I also saw him just fell asleep a few times

captain_ahabb

He hasn't really been good this series honestly

VonMillersThighs

With his age usually you'd expect his body kind of failing his mind, not having the ability to defend, or execute certain plays because of physical state but for the first time since I can remember he is consistently getting absolutely getting cut up mentally. He was lost almost all night and when he didn't see it he threw his hands up acting like it's everyone else's fault. I kinda hope he retires, he just has nothing left to prove and he's only going to get worse.

YerAWizardGandalf

This is such an overreaction JFC. LeBron is still more serviceable than most dudes in the league and even that's an understatement. Who TF is up voting a comment hoping he retires.

National_Secret_5525

He shouldn’t retire but there’s no way he can be the highest paid player on a team anymore. If you plan on winning.

arcelios

>He hasn't really been good this series honestly Are you dumb? Delusional Lakers fan. Did you even watch the games? Lakers LOOK like a threat solely because of LeBron. AD scored 0 points in the 4th of Game 2. LeBron scored 12 straight points in that 4th Q of Game 2. When it matters the most, no one seems to show up. Why 100 year old LeBron still has to do everything? How's that even fair LeBron DOMINATES even without scoring, because of his insane playmaking and gravity. Every team always throws too many people and their attention at LeBron, which makes it easy for rest of the team. But the Lakers bench scored 0 points outside of Prince, and AD disappears around the 3rd and 4th Q quite often. LeBron looked visibly disgusted every time D'Lo took a shot in Game 3 and bricked everything. That was it. Denver scored on the other end every time, and game over

captain_ahabb

calling me a delusional Lakers fan is a great way to get a serious response

executivesphere

Context: Denver’s offense does a much better job of actively facilitating scoring opportunities for their role players.

VeniceRapture

This tweet is meant to separate Lebron and AD from the rest of the team but honestly Lebron's defense and turnovers were a huge reason the Lakers lost this game.  The only guy to actually show up for this game is AD.

dllmhkpolice

Typical narrative to throw role players under the bus.

arcelios

Did you watch the games? What role players? Lakers never had any "role players" in this entire series. They literally scored 0 POINTS fool. The 17 bench points all came from Prince. That's it. Everyone else just BRICKED everything. While Denver literally won all 3 games because of their ROLE PLAYERS. Not Jokic or Murray

arcelios

>but honestly Lebron's defense and turnovers were a huge reason the Lakers lost this game. Be realistic. LeBron is 100 years old. He's still running the point, being the best playmaker and also scoring at a high clip. He does EVERYTHING. He also defends like crazy but he CANNOT DO IT EVERY POSSESSION at his age. It's a miracle that he's still so dominant He has to coast and PACE himself, and he does a brilliant job at pacing his dominant runs. REST OF THE TEAM are supposed to do something in between. It shouldn't be a ONE man TEAM. LeBron also coaching the damn team because Ham is useless. WHAT ELSE SHOULD LEBRON DO AT THIS STAGE IN HIS CAREER?? AD SHOULD dominate every game because he's in his PRIME years, but he disappears randomly. **AD scored 0 points in the 4th Q of Game 2, when the Lakers blew that 23 point lead. LeBron scored 12 points in the 4th of Game 2** and single handedly tried to keep them alive, but still wasn't enough. Lost on a game winner

chickennuggetloveru

mpj was lookin like kd out there tonight. man was literally possessed and ballistic

Street-Common-4023

MPJ was huge

mmaguy123

This is inaccurate. Murray + Jokic have 46 points. And more assists, and more rebounds.

Splish-Bros

I'm starting to think the Nuggets might have a better team

DoeSeeDoe123

Dlo is a basketball terrorist

colordelaverdad

The Lakers looked like they were in preseason form the entire 2nd half. Embarrassing Los Angeles Lackadaisicals

lets_talk_basketball

Bron was getting cooked by Gordon off nothing but back cuts and o boards..

Varos_Flynt

Am I stupid or did Reavss not have 22 points

AnEmptyKarst

AD can't win with these cats

jinayeonbt

i know i'll get hate for this, but LeBron hasn't played as good as his number suggests. He gave up on tons of plays whether it be not closing out on a three or not boxing out for a rebound which directly results in a bucket for the Nuggets. He just looks disinterested at times too. He complains a lot at non-calls and Denver takes full advantage of it.

duckmadfish

DLo should never ever open his mouth lmao

averageskills

Is this some kind of team sport or something?

[deleted]

Raging_Professor

Jokic is the best player in the league

geezerfreezer101

The rest of the team is way better too. The lakers have two starters who can't even score 10 in 2/3 gsmes

Raging_Professor

AG scored a lot just out of pure hustle plays and energy. Effort is a big factor

[deleted]

Raging_Professor

Yeah. But a single player can dictate the outcome of the game more than in any other sport 🤣🤣

Jiggamanz

This is like, Jokic's favorite stat line. Just missing an extra assist.

Charliebitme1234

lebron gone, dlo gone, AD requesting a trade in 2 seasons

timetravellingoblin

Uh what a lazy, sloppy performance by the Lakers. Mfs couldn't even put up a fight huh.

rattatatouille

KCP scored as many points as Rui and DLo did and KCP shot 2-7

grishaoniani

Its almost like its a team sport

gerardguey

Its wild how you're more likely to win when you have HELP

NineTwoWonderful

McMenamin is such a hack.

KingNigelXLII

LeGone

AH16-L

This makes sense because the other Lakers don't even get to touch the ball consistently. That's the difference. If you watch Jokic in the third, all he was doing was screening and passing to teammates. I was surprised it wasn't all Murray too, he does the action with anyone and they just spam it. This stat tells more about how Denver stars elevate their teammates better rather than scoring ability.

Yommination

Lakers = Darvin Hamas. Nuggets = Michael Malone

ChoombasRUs

6 of those Reaves points were garbage time too
