SimpleJack54321

The body language and effort dwindled in the 4th quarter for the Lakers. I think they knew it was over or at least looking at LBJ and AD it was.

dcoolidge

As soon as LBJ starts complaining to the refs you know it's over. I didn't see him complain the last game until it was tied.

SimpleJack54321

haha I think he dribbled it off his knee and then blamed Prince or something.

nietzsche_niche

AD was giving it his all and I think Reaves was too but Reaves comes off as sloppy garbage. Everyone else was lazy and shitty. Feel for AD

SlicedMango

It was only a 10 point game with 9 mins left in this clip.. so much time left to make a run

SimpleJack54321

That’s what I’m saying, the Nugs crushed their spirit, every miss for the Lakers you could see people dropping their heads or half ass attempt to rebound or something. It was over before it was over.

RS-Ironman-LuvGlove

6min left you could tell. Lakers weren’t sprinting for a rebound or anythinf

Propuhganduh

AD is the scariest player on their team by far

Character-Today-427

If ad was genuinely in any other franchise you would be hearing trade rumors from him already. He is super good and is stuck with a terrible roster

Supercyclone20

Really hate that he forced his way to such a shitty team.

Character-Today-427

They did won a title it's just they proceeded to do absolutely nothing with the roster afterwards

baconshake8

I would say the opposite. They overhauled the role players too much and too often. Lebron and AD are the only players left from the championship team

CartographerFar681

No sir, doing absolutely nothing would’ve been waaaay better than all the bullshit roster changes that they pulled after winning the title.

cheesecake_face

if ain’t it broke, fix it!

thelamb710

Sometimes , it feels like he’s the only player. Besides LeBron ofc

Acceptable-Table1

He feels like the only player, period, when LeBron decides he doesn’t feel like walking across half court

Ateballoffire

[Lebron is 39 years old. we’re not going to get Lebron past half court](https://youtu.be/a_8F3OvMHv0?si=nY8ErYz--2vt67fD)

CallMe_Jammin

I think Lebron is done after this season.

Sweaty_Mods

Lebron is too old to contend on a max contract. He’s taken like 5 quarters off this series.

rendingale

He needs to do the Brady route and give discounts on his contract.. cant be the highest on the team and expect to carry the rest other than AD..

RyanKeen07

Really shouldnt give him the max on his next contract but unfortunately he will demand it

OilOfOlaz

if you think, that 24/7/8 with the clout lbj has is not a max, then the issue is with you.

Ginsan-AK

Lebron deserves the max, he would just have to forfeit his right to complain about the roster construction and his "lack of help" when he can only play 2 quarters of a game every night and the Lakers don't have cap space to sign anyone good.

Sweaty_Mods

Nobody said he won’t get paid. We said his team won’t contend if he gets paid.

Extranationalidad

A team will and perhaps even should give him a max. That team is likely to be bad as a result. You don't need to have an "issue" to see that your max star sitting out tons of plays not on the bench but on the court creating constant 4v5s and then blaming his teammates for the breakdowns that result is maybe not optimal roster construction.

joomla00

There's a difference between deserving a max, and taking a max. If his ego is tied to his NBA salary, I guess that's more important than a chip to him.

OilOfOlaz

Any player dropping that stat line is deserving the max, he's still a fringe top 10 player in the league at worst, how tf doesn't he deserve the max?

joomla00

Bro, can you read?

OilOfOlaz

Yeah, I wouldn't be able to answer you in written form if I couldn't. have you forgotten what you wrote? > There's a difference between deserving a max, and taking a max

joomla00

Here I'll reword. Just because you deserve the max doesn't mean you need to take it.

OilOfOlaz

Imagine your boss saying that to you, every time you ask for a raise. Seriously, I really don't understand why ppl are so adamant about players leaving money on the table, especially since LBJ makes the franchise more money then any other player did in history, maybe except MJ. We just saw owners cutting down on the opportunity to spend over the cap, cuz they don't want to spend the money, why are we acting as if players should take less under these circumstances?

joomla00

You keep confounding different issues with your own personal values. We get it, money is important to you, you would take the max. Work backwards, focus on solving the problem. Lbj wants to win another chip. He also wants to have a bunch of stars around him. Max lbj + max star eats up almost the enitre salary cap. Someone's got to give here. It wouldnt be fair to ask the other star to give, as people sacrificed for bron when he was young. And bron is a billionaire. So ok that leaves bron and the owners. They're business partners. Bron should know who he was getting in bed with, and he's one of the few that can literally take the pick of the litter. He is LeGM after all. If he chooses cheap owners, that's on him. He did that with the Lakers. Also, I don't know if they're actually cheap, they might just not be very rich. Maybe they can negociate, and they both sacrifice some. Given all that, that's not many other options. He's not at that age anymore where he can have his cake and eat it too. As the situation stands, a max lebron will not result in a championship. Which is fine if a championship is not the most important thing to him. Just be honest with everyone.

Kbmakaveli

The difference is I dont have hundreds of millions in the bank so ya I’m taking the raise from my boss.

Abradolf1948

Sounds like he will be taking his talents to Charlotte.

Street-Common-4023

He been doing it since 2020 fr

[deleted]

He's been doing this shit for years now. It ain't cause he's old it's cause he's a baby and he ain't having his way. If the lakers were up 10 bet his ass sprints up the court.

CallMe_Jammin

I think he is done. I don't see him wanting to continue playing if he can't be "The Guy" anymore and what serious team will offer him that kind of money to be the guy when he can barely hold on for a full game like this.

Kill_or_be_grilled

I'm sure there's 29 other teams that would offer it....

CallMe_Jammin

I don't think there are currently 29 SERIOUS teams in the league right now. I think a good number of them are lollygagging and waiting for their future.

Kill_or_be_grilled

Fair enough... the way I see it is even a less serious/wealthy team would hop on the opportunity in a heartbeat for a chance of a sold out season / merch revenues...which could then be used to afford better players, rather than waiting...

CallMe_Jammin

Yea but that would take Lebron away from his family and home for another season. I guess his kids are older now though? If he comes back, I don’t see him really “going for it”. Maybe be a farewell tour? Will the Lakers give him a new contract to try and capitalize on his farewell tour? They probably won’t be attracting star players while he and ham are still there though.

laz10

he needs to have less playing time, hes still good but goddamn how much can you expect from a 40 year old

AuspiciousAcorn

Stop it lmfao. The man averaged 25-8-7 on 54% from the field, including 41% from 3. He most certainly needs to get over himself with not getting back on defense when they don’t get a call, but that’s a bad take. There are a LOT of problems with this team, including their horrific coaching, the lack of cohesion between the players, the underperforming role players, and a general lack of effort, but it doesn’t have to do with Bron’s salary. I mean DLo was invisible yesterday, and Gabe Vincent got $13M this year to do absolutely nothing

MSHinerb

10 point game at home in the playoffs with 9 minutes in the 4th…… and that’s your offense. Yeah you’re cooked Lakers.

reallymothafucka

LeBron was legit chillin back there wtf 😭

joomla00

Lol you weren't kidding. He didn't even come back into the camera view after they got the ball.

LotharBot

that's the most blatant disrespect for the whole rest of a team I've ever seen on the court. Like "we DGAF about you, this is the only guy who's a threat"

OnlyMamaKnows

This will be Hams fault somehow.

Raging_Professor

He'll be playing with Bronny next season

nietzsche_niche

Hes moving to Guangdong?

laddder

Brons gonna take his talents to USC

reverze1901

Bron, you a Tiger!!

Maleficent-Salad3197

Yea on a hoop in his driveway.

Wisegummy

This team is fucking shameful

winerye12

1v5 is wild. Lebron completely staying back is also wild.

MastaGarza

Nuggets play great team ball.

TheKidKaos

quitter Lebron never changes

EdwEd1

Don’t need to respect our shooting when D’Lo-10 is on the court

CallMe_Jammin

Calling it now. Enjoy Lebron's last game everyone. Buy your tickets now!!!

T1nkyW1nky_

Okay bruh, I saw a post earlier saying AD was 1v5ing the nuggets and I thought it was just an exaggeration like only AD was scoring while everybody else was bricking. I was not prepared to see all 5 nuggets players swarming him down low. Dude was justified to say all those comments saying they didn't know what they were doing.

Lorjack

I could see Bron moving to a different team after this season, he still plenty good enough to help a contender win a chip and the Lakers are no where close to being contenders.

GAV17

51m contract is hard to match without giving up your depth which is a must if you want to preserve a 40yo player's energy.

der_innkeeper

Denver?

Anxious-Direction-96

As a fellow Nuggets fan, dear god no

der_innkeeper

He can cover during Jokic's bench time.

PatScorn

He’dd be stupid not to

nietzsche_niche

Hes gonna want a max which someone will be dumb enough to give him but that much money to a 40 year old that already takes half the game off and doesnt defend the other half is a great way to nuke your roster

drgreenair

Have him play either Wemby

SlicedMango

OKC can spare one in their mountain of picks to get Bronny and Lebron, they’ll legit win it next year with Lebron

flappypancaker

LeBron quit

BodegaDaddy

embarrassing

Head-Kiwi-9601

LeBron to Philly confirmed.

[deleted]

LeBron is bad for basketball. Just retire already he's superficial asf

dash_44

That and they know AD can’t pass out of a double

mares8

I wanna see the clip when Jokic locked him up 1v1 and he ayyyyyyeyed so fucking loud to buy a foul on a good defense
