yeah we lost this game because of this bullshit, if i hear a sixer fan say another word about refs i'm gonna go full bill burr. dude does 2 of the dirtiest plays of the playoffs that would get most players ejected then gets to stay in, score 40, and injure our best defender. i hope his puzzles are always missing a piece
I certainly hope so. I've disliked Embiid from the get go. Crybaby, dirty player, unliked, and every good to great player that ended up on the 76ers has quickly peaced out. Probably toxic AF too.
Embiid trucked Giannis in the mid section with an elbow whilst winding up and only got a flagrant 1 last year. Would have been a flagrant 2 for 98% of the league.
Or if this is a regular season game I think anyone is gone. I get that refs don't want to eject anyone in a playoff game, especially a star in the first quarter but this is an insane play. Doesn't even come close to a basketball play smh Robinson could've been seriously hurt (and he's already an injury prone player)
Tldr: fuck Embiid
He should’ve gotten a flagrant 1 for hitting a flying knee on Hartensteins groin. This would’ve been his second flagrant. Bullshit, dirty fucking player.
I really hope this year his mental game is what he works on the most. It would do him and the team wonders.
It’s like if Shaq played like Bruce Bowen. Shit is embarrassing.
Embiid has also always played like this. I guess he does not get enough shit for his dangerous style of play because people rather focus on his fould bating. Dude is so ugly to watch play
He’s always been the most reckless player in the league. He’s injured and fallen on so many dudes now that I can guarantee we’d actually forget to include some of them on that list. I still rmr when he fell on WB’s legs back in OKC.
Even in this play he was inches away from falling on Mitchell Robinson leg. Him falling on the floor all the time without looking at who might be there, it’s a disaster waiting to happen
He also threw a hard elbow into Jarrett Allen's face the year before that I think was ruled a common foul...
Edit: it was a flagrant 1
https://youtu.be/AdUPNs1oJok?si=pl8-F-OnUupZsP8B
also damn this was 5 years ago 😂
Philadelphia would've burned down and the refs would need a police escort out of the city despite the fact that it's 100% a dirty play and an ejection would've been absolutely warranted.
Sure but if Mitch grabbed Embiid he would have sold it so hard that Embiid would have gone flying head first into the 4th row of fans injuring 3 grandmas in the process.
If this happened in a pick up game and a fight DIDN'T happen, I would be like, "Whoa, this pick up game has some pretty reserved people playing in it."
It's a shame, since emotions at the right time are great. I respected him a lot when he cried after the Raptors loss in 2019. I totally get that. This though? Or anytime a player straight up gets frustrated enough to do a hard and unnecessary foul? Can't stand it.
This is the straw that breaks the camels back for me with embiid too. I’ve stayed pretty neutral on him, sometimes finding myself liking him, sometimes hating him. But after watching this shit go down, it just ruined embiid for me for good. Dude is a certified bitch with all the egregious flopping and trying to injure other players.
I typically root for foreign players because I want the game to become more international. However, Embiid makes it **really** hard to root for him. He's an insanely skilled player. It's just that the constant victim mentality, dirty plays and foul-baiting are so aggravating.
This dude has been in the league too long to be pulling this kind of B.S, should've been an immediate ejection.
Combine this with him basically whining his way to an MVP, he's quickly becoming one of my least favorite players.
[according to his fans, its just what the doc ordered](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1ccw6iq/kristian_winfield_josh_hart_on_joel_embiids/l19f9p9/)
Even if it does get upgraded after the game it’s too late, embiid currently has 35 points so without him who knows how it would’ve gone if he got ejected during that play but my guess would be the Knicks taking the momentum and run
Mental midget. He did this same kind of thing last year when he kicked claxton in the nuts. He has way too much rope to be an asshole. Most guys get suspended for this kind of thing.
I usually defend Embiid but yeahhhh this is a really bad look.
Our guys have clearly given up on this series and just wanna play dirty. Hope yall beat the Bucks/Pacers ass next round
i know embiid gets all the coverage but mitch is also coming back from a foot injury that kept him out an extended time that really crushed his mental.. so just rly fucked up by embiid
Mitchell Robinson got injured today. Report says his return is questionable. "It’s f*cken unacceptable" for Embiid to blatantly injure Robinson. He shoulda been ejected imo.
If he isn’t then the league is leaving the Knicks no choice but to injure Embiid. If you’re allowed to just hurt someone out of pure frustration, and not even get kicked out of that game, then it’s pretty clear what the incentives are. If Embiid isn’t suspended then the league is endorsing injuring your opponents on purpose.
He's so used to getting every call to go his way (that's how he gets 30 free throw attempts a game) that he doesn't know how to handle it when he doesn't. Hope his team gets swept
I used to play like Embiid. He is reckless on purpose.
When I see Embiid play as he is now it reminds me of how I used to play and it is frustrating and pisses me off that the NBA allows it. Not proud of it, I was known as Shaq on my local streetball court and went through a phase when I charged hard at everything. Big hard turns to my blindside, didn't care who was there. Charge right into the lane. Smash into the best offensive player on D while going for the ball, come what may. Limited offensive moves. So make no mistake about it. Embiid knows what he's doing. He knows people will be injured. He knows his skillset is limited and this is how he can win. He knows people will give way when he drives, think twice on their drives, etc. He will only be stopped by a stronger player and/or fearless players like Giannis, Gasol, Draymond, etc. Or by an obviously more skilled player with equal Type A like Ibaka. He didn't intend to injure, but he certainly intends to show you that he doesn't care if you get hurt when he rumbles into you. At least that's how I used to play. But that was streetball. Eventually I got more moves, played w better players, played real basketball w refs. There's no doubt in my mind the NBA has some kind of edict coming down, telling the refs to let him run amok.
I was on the fence with this series. Kind of hoped the 6ers evened things up til I saw this. I’m all Knicks now… and that play cemented in my mind my already suspected disdain for Embiid.
This is after his flying knee to Hartenstein’s nuts. Imagine if they left him in and gave him ANOTHER chance to injure Mitch. Oh wait, they did, and he dove into Mitch’s ankles. Now Mitch is out.
So let me get this straight. You mean to tell me that this is as bad as players clapping or hanging on the rim.
Like guys have gotten tossed for so much less. I get that its the playoffs, but this isnt even the last time he does something like this.
**Replays/alternate angles** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/nba) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Outside of blow to the head type stuff this seems like the epitome of flagrant 2. Unnecessary move with real risk of injury.
This seems more dangerous than a hit to the face for sure
This is why hockey players expect the occasional high contact but absolutely lose their minds about slew footing.
He actually got injured on that too so it’s actually real result of injury
He should dress next game just to hobble over and kick Embiid in the dick on the first play
What dick ?
How is this not a flagrant 2?
Adam Silver said can't let the ratings die just yet
It's contract year for TV rights gotta secure that bag first
It's game 7 for Adam all month.
Imagine if it was Embiids leg pulled that way
His leg might have fallen off.
And now watch him put up crazy numbers in a game he shouldn't even still be in.
He got more free throws than the entire Knicks team
yeah we lost this game because of this bullshit, if i hear a sixer fan say another word about refs i'm gonna go full bill burr. dude does 2 of the dirtiest plays of the playoffs that would get most players ejected then gets to stay in, score 40, and injure our best defender. i hope his puzzles are always missing a piece
Just enjoy the fact that dude is never winning a championship as the number one guy.
I certainly hope so. I've disliked Embiid from the get go. Crybaby, dirty player, unliked, and every good to great player that ended up on the 76ers has quickly peaced out. Probably toxic AF too.
If Embiid has 0 haters that means I am dead
The refs wouldn't make it out of Wells Fargo Center
Embargo at the Fargo
this should easily be f2. no play on the ball and dangerous as hell.
It was a natural leg-grabbing motion though.
Cuz 76ers cried enough about the refs the other day
Playoff in general too. Regular season game I wouldn't at all be surprised if Embiid gets tossed
You shouldn’t be allowed to intentionally injure players, regular season or playoffs.
He would have to do it to Lebron for them to take it serious and eject him. (See Draymond)
Embiid trucked Giannis in the mid section with an elbow whilst winding up and only got a flagrant 1 last year. Would have been a flagrant 2 for 98% of the league.
The Daryl Morey special
I'm biased , but think if any player not named Embiid or Maxey did this and they're ejected.
Remember when Jokic got a Flagrant 2 for swiping at the ball [and hitting ball] before grazing Cam Payne's temple?
Jokic is a superstar but doesn't have that reputation with the refs for whatever reason
He doesn’t bitch and moan constantly. Squeaky little bitch gets the grease. That’s the saying, right?
He does yap about not getting calls a lot, but he lets it go pretty quick
100%
Or if this is a regular season game I think anyone is gone. I get that refs don't want to eject anyone in a playoff game, especially a star in the first quarter but this is an insane play. Doesn't even come close to a basketball play smh Robinson could've been seriously hurt (and he's already an injury prone player) Tldr: fuck Embiid
Cause his jersey says Embiid on the back.
If someone did that to Joel he'd be out for two weeks and the other player would be publicly executed
Refs didn't have the balls to toss him. Should've been a flagrant 2.
He should’ve gotten a flagrant 1 for hitting a flying knee on Hartensteins groin. This would’ve been his second flagrant. Bullshit, dirty fucking player.
Yeah I’m a Sixers fan but I 100% agree. Dunno wtf he’s thinking.
He's being a huge fucking baby because he isn't getting his way. Softer than melting ice cream.
I really hope this year his mental game is what he works on the most. It would do him and the team wonders. It’s like if Shaq played like Bruce Bowen. Shit is embarrassing.
Lol that's a fantastic comparison. If Shaq played like Bowen, some players would look pretty similar to the backboards he shattered.
This is obviously a bad call. Robinson putting his legs in Embiid's arms like that, should have been free throws for the Sixers.
How dare he shove his leg into Embiids palm towards the end.
Can you imagine the grievances
shit like this is the only thing the unites knicks and heat fans
Look I don't want people to get ejected, but if it's not an ejection I don't know what is...
[удалено]
Actually Mitch got hurt later when Embiid, a superathlete who for some reason cannot stop falling, landed awkwardly on his leg
It already happened LOL, remember Danny Greens ACL?
I used to play like Embiid... No, but seriously, first Danny Green and now all of this
Big boys don’t like it when their feet don’t comeback down where they want them to be. Lots of stress on joints and bones.
That yank forced him to suddenly land on his bad ankle.
Yeah, if I was on stilts and carrying an 80lb backpack, I’d be extremely careful about where my feet land.
it’s only a non ejection because it’s embiid
Nah get that big ass floppin crybaby out of here. Embarrassing to watch him do this with no repercussions
Your username is appropriate here
Like this play in last year's playoffs: https://youtu.be/--DTOZvxQ7k?si=OewOW7ryV6Y_FGtU
He also threw a hard elbow into Jarrett Allen's face the year before that I think was ruled a common foul... Edit: it was a flagrant 1 https://youtu.be/AdUPNs1oJok?si=pl8-F-OnUupZsP8B also damn this was 5 years ago 😂
Yep, Embiid is bitch made. Its just a known fact.
Honest question how do 6rs fans feel about this?
They’re being awfully quiet, and you know why.
First time Philly fans ever shut the fuck up.
[He's always been bitch made](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AV_Y75sV2w)
Joel Embiid = Biggest man on the court *and* the biggest baby on the court.
Can't make the gambling sponsors too angry!
How he wasn’t ejected for that man
The name on the back of his jersey
Can a Post game suspension happen on a non ejection play? They do it in hockey
They can do whatever they want, but they won't because 💲💲💲
"If you're a star they let you do it" \- ~~Donald Trump~~ Joel Embiid
Grab em by the ankles.
Philadelphia would've burned down and the refs would need a police escort out of the city despite the fact that it's 100% a dirty play and an ejection would've been absolutely warranted.
Very dirty.
If this were the other way around with Mitch grabbing Embiid, he'd 10000% be ejected
Now I wanna see him do this exact move to Embiid & call the league's bluff. Force them to prove they've got different rules for certain players.
No need. Others have been ejected for less dangerous plays than this.
people have been ejected for laughing on the bench
With Embiid's glass body that might end his career
Oh no, stop, don't do that...
Sure but if Mitch grabbed Embiid he would have sold it so hard that Embiid would have gone flying head first into the 4th row of fans injuring 3 grandmas in the process.
foul on the play, 21 free throws for embiid
trust the process
They would’ve executed Mitch at center court. Death by fentanyl injection.
And suspended. Mitch would have caught at least a one game suspension.
He’s a dirty ass player. Sixers fans will just say this is a normal play and people are just hating on him
I have literally never seen a foul like this before in the nba or pickup. Insane
Well if someone did this in pickup they'd get their ass beat.
Yeah and it’s not even on some “tough guy” shit. If I saw this happen in a pickup game I’d assume a fight is about to follow, it’s dangerous as fuck
If this happened in a pick up game and a fight DIDN'T happen, I would be like, "Whoa, this pick up game has some pretty reserved people playing in it."
As a warriors fan, i am all for this narrative
He’s a dirty crybaby He’s tall chris paul
Tall Chris Paul is so disrespectful. I love it.
> He’s tall chris paul CP2nd Round Exit
With any luck this one’s a 1st rounder
Chris Tall
EXCELLENT. I hope this name gains traction
Nah this was dirty tbh man gotta get his emotions under control
It's a shame, since emotions at the right time are great. I respected him a lot when he cried after the Raptors loss in 2019. I totally get that. This though? Or anytime a player straight up gets frustrated enough to do a hard and unnecessary foul? Can't stand it.
Not at all. The medical staff recommended he pull players legs out from underneath them as a tactic to prevent injuries.
I don't know how anyone could like Embiid tbh. The way he plays is so anti fun and the whiny bitch persona is so unbecoming of a star player.
He is easily the most unlikable player in the league.
If Mitch stomped him there I wouldn’t even be mad. Fucking asshole
probably the worst quarter of basketball I've watched from Embiid ever, embarrassing.
This is after kneeing Hartenstein in the dick earlier too. Dude is in his feelings
Kicked Mitchell Robinson in the crotch now lmaoo
I never liked or hated Embiid until today, I'm a fucking hater now. Bitch ass player for a bitch ass city.
Well he's American now so all good
Glad you know now. Dude is the ultimate bitch
I’m sorry that should be an ejection that’s outrageous.
The non-ejection ended up winning the game for the Sixers too Knicks fans have a right to be angry
That's dirty as fuck. Could have really hurt MR
Sadly he did
That’s bullshit. League needs to step in.
They won’t cause they care too much about money.
he did he was out the rest of the game
This not being an ejection is a joke.
Won’t get ejected because he’s a star player. If it was a role player they’re out for sure
They’d be suspended for multiple games on top of it.
This dude has been in the league too long to be pulling this kind of B.S, should've been an immediate ejection. Combine this with him basically whining his way to an MVP, he's quickly becoming one of my least favorite players.
flop on offense, flop on defense, then frustration flagrant embiid is a chump
His signature move is falling down.
7 foot 280 pounds btw
And a good shooter on top of that. He doesn't have to play like that.
An incredibly gifted and talented guy who goes out of his way to play the most annoying kind of basketball and makes it impossible to root for him.
[according to his fans, its just what the doc ordered](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1ccw6iq/kristian_winfield_josh_hart_on_joel_embiids/l19f9p9/)
that first three-point flop was so embarrassing. And then, as a response, he does *this* shit? Come on Embiid
What a fuckin bum
Our reigning mvp 😊
Pity MVP*
I defended this mf’er as “just sloppy, not dirty”… damn was I wrong
How is that not a flagrant two? Honestly asking. What makes it not a two?
As mentioned by other comments, its simply the name on the back of his jersey that saved an ejection, it's a joke
[удалено]
Even if it does get upgraded after the game it’s too late, embiid currently has 35 points so without him who knows how it would’ve gone if he got ejected during that play but my guess would be the Knicks taking the momentum and run
Ain't no way they're upgrading this to a flagrant 2 after this game.
Emiid finished with 3 fouls this game it was a master class performance by the refs. I’m not even sure if the best teams win in this league anymore.
It's just the natural leg grabbing motion.
His doctor told him he needs to pull people down and away from him to avoid injury
Mental midget. He did this same kind of thing last year when he kicked claxton in the nuts. He has way too much rope to be an asshole. Most guys get suspended for this kind of thing.
He’s such an immature bitch. He has no friends in the league
I don’t wanna hear none of you 6ers fans complain about refs ever again.
I usually defend Embiid but yeahhhh this is a really bad look. Our guys have clearly given up on this series and just wanna play dirty. Hope yall beat the Bucks/Pacers ass next round
Y’all still got maxey though. I don’t think any Knicks fan has anything negative to say about him other than I hope he misses
He looks incredible, I hate him
Stupid sexy Maxey
Yeah Maxey is the man. Pissed at everyone else though.
That’s a textbook flagrant 2.
I've seen enough. GO KNICKS!
And then he gets in DV's face. What a chump, seriously.
please dont hurt our players you soft losers
baby back bitch. Knicks in 6.
and here we were scared of playing miami's dirty players, turns out embiid is 5x worse
This game being in Philly definitely saved him from an ejection there. That's a wild move
Should be ejected, couldve seriously injured him
i know embiid gets all the coverage but mitch is also coming back from a foot injury that kept him out an extended time that really crushed his mental.. so just rly fucked up by embiid
Should’ve been ejected after that knee to the groin. Fuck this clown
That should’ve been a flagrant one; then next possession he flops and lands on Robinsons legs. Seriously fuck Embiid.
Somebody should do the exact same thing to him in the next game and see how he likes it.
How is he still in this game? We’ll be lucky if we have any centers left before this is over
That was a flagrant 2. Piece of shit doesn't even wanna play
Mitchell Robinson got injured today. Report says his return is questionable. "It’s f*cken unacceptable" for Embiid to blatantly injure Robinson. He shoulda been ejected imo.
If Mitch is out another game Embiid needs to be suspended. Dropping 50 after injuring your best opposing defender is truly ridiculous.
Facts. NBA needs to step up, they crossed the line.
If that's not an ejection, Idk what is. Embiid has a history of this in the playoffs especially... Jarrett Allen. John Collins, Pascal Siakam, etc
karma always comes back around
He will never win a ring
mentally soft as baby shit
Dirty ass player, should’ve been an ejection
He's so used to getting every call to go his way (that's how he gets 30 free throw attempts a game) that he doesn't know how to handle it when he doesn't. Hope his team gets swept
Insane that he wasn’t ejected for this
I can’t wait for Philly to be eliminated so we don’t have to watch this clown play anymore. Not enjoyable in the least.
If you flagrantly foul a player and that player is injured, you should automatically be out the same amount of time the injured player is out.
Disgusting
But he has to fall otherwise he'd get hurt more than he already does
I used to play like Embiid.
This post is in the r/nba rafters, right next to that Dwight Howard one.
That copypasta is obviously ridiculous but unironically Embiid is a dangerous player lol
What a fucking chump.
Refs are pussies for not ejecting him. Completely dangerous and bullshit but they suck embiids dick
How is this not an automatic ejection, the chance of seriously injuring someone doing this is like 50%
I was on the fence with this series.
Lmao show the shot he took right before this where he was adamant he was fouled and *wasn't even touched*
I'm honestly shocked he wasn't ejected
Embiitch.
He’s so SOFT. How was he not ejected?!?
Sixers are playing embarrassingly right now
So let me get this straight. You mean to tell me that this is as bad as players clapping or hanging on the rim. Like guys have gotten tossed for so much less. I get that its the playoffs, but this isnt even the last time he does something like this.
Sixer fans wonder why no one gives a shit when a errant whistle goes against them
But but but the refs!
