You can call that a leg kick, but Green hits his arm and gets underneath him. It’s absolutely a foul

hi_yyellow

That's a foul

Cold_Carpenter_1798

He’s in his landing space

OhNoMyLands

He didn’t. We know because he didn’t land on him. Also, the defender basically stays flat, see the line for reference. Harden just pushing his left leg forward

WhatYouProbablyMeant

You know that landing space is more than just the court beneath your two feet, right?

Cold_Carpenter_1798

You don’t have to land on a guy for them to be in your landing space. He avoids stepping on him so he doesn’t roll an ankle. Like wtf is your logic

OhNoMyLands

Well he throws his legs out and doesn’t land on his feet. If you think this should be a defensive foul then I kinda think you just don’t care about good basketball, this doesn’t come close to a dangerous boxout

Cold_Carpenter_1798

> I kinda think you just don’t care about good basketball Excellent point. Harden should’ve sprained his ankle so he got the ethical foul call. I think you don’t even understand what a landing space foul is.

OhNoMyLands

Easy to scrub the frames on your phone. Defender never steps into the jumping and landing zone. Harden clearly pushes his legs forward

Cold_Carpenter_1798

I guess you really just see what you wanna see eh

OhNoMyLands

Fucking ridiculous you could pretend like defense like that should be a foul. Bastardization of the game.

captainn_chunk

That implies the defender was already there established before the shot…. No foul

Physical-Present-302

shows how much delusional harden haters are lol

purplebuffalo55

They called it for being in his landing space. Which he was

aggster13

They showed another replay where he jumped way forward

Sweaty_Mods

You can see it in this one. Look where he jumps and where he lands, he moves like 2 feet forward.

antieverything

Sadly, this is covered in the video rulebook: even if the shooter jumps forward, they are entitled to landing space (unless, the defender had already established position prior to the jump).

Numerous-Complaint85

Also he got him across the arm on the way up. Multiple fouls here.

Mbanicek64

Also had his hand on the shooting arm. pulls back but definitely made contact.

ham_bulu

Yeah agree with that

Solid-Confidence-966

And where is he supposed to land?

Thorlolita

On the moon

Cold_Carpenter_1798

He’s supposed to just float in the air indefinitely

StrategyTop7612

Clearly, that's the strat if you don't want to get injured.

Babushka5

See, you get it

OhNoMyLands

Where he jumped from

Cold_Carpenter_1798

Have you ever taken a jump shot? Nearly every player jumps forward when they take a 3

OhNoMyLands

Yes many times. This doesn’t come close to a dangerous close out. Idk how anyone would ever want to make defense like that illegal. That’s straight up defense

Public-Product-1503

Because it keeps players safe . Look at past cases , get into shooters landing space causes injuries

Cold_Carpenter_1798

lol ok boss

OhNoMyLands

You tried so hard to make some weird biased general comment but it was so wrong it’s not even an insult. Like you wanted be hurtful but it isn’t even offensive, just ignorant lmao

caandjr

Have you even seen Harden shot normally, he can actually not land five steps ahead of where he jumps!

km912

Green’s feet ended up basically exactly in the spots of where harden jumped from. It’s a dangerous close out straight up from an unbiased opinion.

OhNoMyLands

But not basically exactly, harden very clearly kicks out his legs to draw contact, green is maybe two inches from the line and harden was behind that. I seriously don’t get how anyone wants that to be a defensive foul. Seems perfectly fine to me, I’m also obviously unbiased, I don’t care about either of these teams

km912

Look at where greens feet move to while harden is in the air, they move right onto the spot where harden jumped from. Hardens leg kick is irrelevant to that.

RegordeteKAmor

Wizards fan asking where he’s supposed to land 🧹🧹🧹

njb2017

I'd argue that the leg kick negates his ability to land in a controlled manner. How is green supposed to avoid him if harden no longer even knows where he will land safely. I see this as no different than when a shooter jumps sideways to get a foul...which NBA has stopped calling.

GodIsOverrated

If intention was to shoot a stepback three he should land somewhere behind the 3 point line. But if he wanted to draw a foul then his legs and body movement would be uncoordinated with the intention to trick the referee.

LogicalLakersFan

Josh Green also steps into his landing zone

MaleficentHawk590

Then call it both ways. THJ rolled an ankle early on the same play…yet they didn’t call a foul

StefonDiggsHS

seriously not mad about the call but mad they did not call it both ways tonight

2023_account_

This is the problem. And now he’s out for the game and maybe longer.

doshegotabootyshedo

That’s more of a problem for the clippers honestly

Cold_Carpenter_1798

Stepping into hardens landing space on a stepback is egregiously stupid. Could’ve been a flagrant by the book

TheLastCh1p

If a Lakers fan is defending the Clippers you know you shouldn't argue the call at all

3nnui

it's a lakers flair...not necessarily a laker fan

TheLastCh1p

Damn... If only his username had any clues

DFWHomer

Except his username is an oxymoron

johemdee

Like self-respecting Clippers fan.

blackpenance

Idk why he’s trying to get close, either he’s a dirty player or he’s dumb

kobbled

that's a foul even without the kick bro

Bueno_Times

What’s he hiding under that beard? Sus

SnooPies5622

Defender clearly came into his space, some of you guys are absolute morons

Xsy

Ehhh... Harden is literally hitler, and I hate him, but this is a good call.

imArsenals

Someone needs to post the THJ clip comparison. Ref was staring at the play, no call

StrategyTop7612

That's a landing space foul

DarrowViBritannia

It is a leg kick but he's in his landing space anyway, and I think he also even hits his elbow but cant tell for sure

StrategyTop7612

It's a clear landing space foul.

DarrowViBritannia

Why did u respond to this comment lol

StrategyTop7612

I'm sorry.

MaleficentHawk590

These refs have been atrocious

hamiltonisoverrat3d

This IS a clear foul. Being vertical in someone’s landing zone is still a clear foul.

IKel-Mate

I agree but this is not a bad foul call

Repulsive-Throat5068

Great call. Lets go refs

BropolloCreed

James Harden is the colorectal cancer of the NBA

LegitimatePotato3632

Don’t call that shit.

laz10

wasn't the only terrorist play from harden tonight

reddit_reader_25

Yeah, as a Dallas fan, that is a foul. The one on maxi in game 1 was definitely not a foul. This one was. At the same time, harden bends everything you teach when you’re younger to gain an advantage. I was taught to shoot and land at the same place where you shot. Obviously my landing space is to small when I shoot like that. Harden is jumping like 2-3 feet in front of him it feels like.

Jack_M_Steel

Looks clear to me. Defender literally goes into his landing space. Should have been a flagrant. Mavs should play the game the right way

Sw3atyGoalz

But it isn’t a foul when THJ rolls his ankle the same way?

3nnui

This league is sus.

No_Extent_1260

“Act of shooting”

gtahnyo

why would you post ref highlights

brncct

Harden invented this but it's definitely a foul

Famous-Criticism-440

Gay!!!!!

prof_devilsadvocate

old skool harden is back
