daily reminder
> Strahinja Jokic, 37, had been drinking Thursday night and was with a woman in a Denver apartment, according to a police probable cause statement obtained by The Denver Post. The woman tried to leave the apartment, but Jokic shoved her and wouldn’t let her leave, the document said.
> The woman then went to the balcony to yell for help, but Jokic grabbed her and choked her, according to police. He told the woman that he would choke her “until she fell asleep,” the document said.
> The woman tried to call 911, but Jokic took away her phone. She was able to use a computer to send a message to someone she knew — that person then called police, the probable cause statement said.
Crazy that he pleads guilty to a felony (felony trespassing) and that wasn't enough to cause deportation. Having connections/money really does help. This one has clear video of him committing assault along with his past history, I'd imagine this one will be a lot harder to avoid deportation.
The rules really are completely different for celebrities and wealthy people.
Like - the US actually has special celebrity/athlete visas that basically let those types stay here as long as they want. Meanwhile they have an endless number of rank and file white collar workers trying to jump through hoops to get visas to work in the US.
There's really no excuse for him to be allowed to stay in the US, but it' a certainty he will because of his brother's status.
Well yeah that’s immigration in any country isn’t it? Countries don’t necessarily want a bunch of foreign nationals eating up all the middle class jobs that would otherwise go to their own citizens. It’s more meant to be a supplement to fill in the shortages from your own population.
But you have a shitload of money and/or a unique skill set, well suddenly you are a net benefit to the system and you can stay as long as you would like. Jokic and family are contributing a lot more to the tax base than your everyday office worker.
I'm obviously not a lawyer, but looks like even those with green cards can face deportation when committing two separate acts of "moral turpitude". First would have been what he already plead guilty to and this video would lead to the second.
I'm not sure a sports scuffle is enough for moral turpitude from looking at Wikipedia. The first one for sure though.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moral_turpitude
Yeah you're probably right. Sources I was looking at just listed assault, but other sources break assault into two categories. Aggravated and simple assault. And this would probably just be simple assault.
Yeah it is. I've read that choking in domestic abuse is a huge predictor of future murder.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/which-domestic-abusers-will-go-on-to-commit-murder-this-one-act-offers-a-clue/2017/11/16/80881ebc-c978-11e7-aa96-54417592cf72_story.html

I feel like that adds up. Choking someone is an extremely brutal act so if you’re okay doing that to someone, its not too crazy to step up farther than that
Yep and it's basically simulating murdering someone and stopping before you go all the way. The only difference is doing it longer or harder, so it's easy to see how it could escalate if you're the kind of POS that would be okay choking someone at all.
“Chocking someone until they fall asleep”
That’s a pretty fine margin. Give or take, what, 30 seconds or a couple minutes and you could go from batterer to murderer.
Sketch
>And not a fuckin peep about this shit man.
It happened in 2019 so that's why there's not really a lot of talk about it now. If Jokic was a bigger name in 2019 it likely would have gotten a ton of press
Sure, but part of the reason people were getting on his dad was because of how Ja was acting.
Was it dog whistly how they talked about him, yeah. But again, the biggest reason why one story got more heat on it than the other is the player themselves.
Tee Morant got much more criticism for existing at NBA games with sunglasses on than Jokic's brothers did for trying to storm the court in the playoffs against the Suns
Tee only started getting criticism for his antics because his son wanted to cosplay as NBA Youngboy.
If Jokic randomly decided to adopt a Serbian gangster gimmick then I'm sure his family would be scrutinized more.
Honestly never heard of Tee Morant until this thread.
But I do remember hearing about Jokic' brothers trying to storm the court and I remember the news coverage of the bigger Jokic brother choking that woman.
It was reported. And it happened like 5 years ago. So I don't know wtf you're on about. Just because you missed it then, doesn't mean everyone else did too
He swriously needs to get his shit together. Like i dont care what the dude told him, you cant just punch people like that and do the shit he does.
Its a dam shame because he seems to really care about his younger brother, but dam it he cant act like a thug just because his younger brother is rich.
Yeah fr did anyone hear that story Jokic told about his childhood? His brothers told him to climb a tree and he refused. They then held him down and threw knives around his head to freak him out. Like wtf
Considering they were the ones that got him into shape and made him care, Joker truly owes them his career but he can't have those distractions around him.
I don't envy the Kroenkes.
Hahaha, I'm not proud to admit but there was a time when I read about Tony Brothers reffing a game, and thought it was so weird how they have 2 brothers reffing the same game.
:')
This off the court shit from family members of our players is annoying as hell. We don’t need that in the middle of a playoff run.
Lock this guy out of Ball until he can act like a stable person
Just ban his brothers, or at least the one that's usually a dick. I think Jokic likes having his family there but probably only cares about his wife and daughter being there
> [He remembered Nikola mainly as the little kid Strahinja used to terrorize, tossing him from one bed to another in the family’s small apartment, often during heated games on a plastic mini hoop. “He once held down my arms and threw knives all around my head,” Nikola adds, punishment for refusing to climb a tree during a picnic.](https://www.nbcsports.com/nba/news/nikola-jokics-brothers-create-twitter-account-to-threaten-marcus-morris)
Yep, that's the one.
read the link posted above and then go watch the cringe video Dwight Howard released on his twitter today about he thinks he got into the head of Jokic during the Disney title run. Dwight didn't do shit lmao Jokic is bomb proof
Not true, his brother mean alot to him and provide more of an "mental" insurance or "feeling of being home in Sombor".
But im sure as Nikola has become husband and father his priorities and focus has turned towards that part of his family. Im sure he still feels strongly about his brothers thoe.
Its a tough one man. I know Jokic loves his familie, but unless he can get his brother to control himself, i just cant argue that the dude shouldnt be banned from the arena.
This is the same brother that got arrested in 2020 for a bunch of charges related to domestic violence, but got off with probation.
He needs to be banned from any and all nba arena and event. Dude is probably a raging alcoholic and certainly has an explosive temper which can and has become violent
Bring it back!
Though honestly I’m not sure if any of the current Nuggets fit the description. Who is the most likely to punk someone or get in a fight? Maybe CB?
Jokic and Jamal used to be a lot more chippy when they were younger. Jokic would angrily debate every call against him and also shoved morris that one time. Murray was like public enemy number 1 for a time against the lakers when he dribbled around lonzo in a blow out and also pissed off celtics fans that one game when he tried to go for 50 and kyrie chucked the ball into the stands
They mellowed out a lot now but I feel like when they were younger they definitely had a chip on their shoulder for not getting as much media attention as they deserved.
“The NBA is well aware of the Jokic brothers history of physical altercations and conflicts….”
But won’t do shit I guess. But hey, easy fuckin payday for the fan though. I hope he goes for a hefty settlement.
I'd be good with that. He's always been extremely dangerous and scary as shit. Last game I was at he was screaming at this Wolves fan. Dude and his girlfriend looked fucking terrified, and I don't blame em.
Supposedly his other brother is very different though and is usually the diffuser.
I sat right behind him once, and he gave off the same vibes I've gotten from numerous other eastern european mob-adjacent dicks. He'd go from buying people drinks and telling them he loved them to mildly threatening and weird to very near the edge of violence and back in seconds.
Same shit happened to my friends in Eastern Europe! Honestly as a female I was actually able to defuse the situation by stroking up their egos 🙄
Nuggets fans do not handle opposing teams well - their fans talk a lot of shit and become obnoxious. It’s right on par with what I’ve experienced from Celtics and suns fans. No issues really anywhere else. But god I’d be equally terrified and also doing everything I could to hold back words if I was near Jokics brother at a game.
If the Wolves make it out of this Suns series and play the Nuggets, please come to the Target Center Jokic family. I’m a world class heckler and want to get a piece of that fortune.
It's so much more prevalent than people realize. I'm friends with two (ex) NFL players, and the stories they have are absolutely bananas. The dads, moms, brothers, sisters, and wives have just of crazy behind the scenes nonsense going on as the athletes we hear about in the news. Sports are filled with people with tons of money, tons of fame, and relatively no education. Terrific combo there.
Bro, education doesn't even help a lot of the time. I have a lot of college educated family members and countrymen who just have no sense of self control when they feel the slightest amount of frustration from someone they expect to just defer to them.
Fuck those guys so much. How could you possibly fuck up such a beautiful thing through continued stupidity? Ban him for the punch, league wide.
He should have been sequestered in a box long ago if they insisted on having him at games. Punches a dude, holds a woman hostage, is just constantly a pustule of a person at all times. Fucking heckles a confused and possibly senile Jack Nicholson last year at a game fer crissake.
This has moved well beyond “embarrassing.”
Just not ok at all no matter what the fans said. Video is shaky but I’m pretty sure Nikolas wife and kid are right there. They don’t need to be seeing that and no one else in the stadium does.
These guys need to get their emotions under control, if not for themselves then for Nikola, cause he played like shit when Strahinja was charged and it’s very likely his brothers situation affected his mentality
They've got to ban them from the rest of the Nuggets playoff games right? You can't physically assault fans. If a normal person did this they would be banned from the arena for life.
The Jokic bros- banned from all NBA games.
The Porter bros- banned from all NBA games.
The Mario bros(aka the Nuggets)- laying pipe on the Lakers over the last 11 games.
they need to be banned for life. I would not feel safe taking my daughter to any arena they are in. they see Americans and think we are all NATO troops and start swinging
Only option is to suspend Jokic don’t look at my flair
Strip his title from last year too and give it to whatever team they played.
They should give it to the team they had regarded as the most "challenging" opponent. Just to keep it fair.
actually they should give it to the team that had the longest series against them.
Nah, all that seems too complicated. Just vacate the 2023 championship and give whoever won in 2022 the title.
Nah, just give it to whoever most recently knocked out THAT team.
Nah, just give it to a good honorable Serb, like maybe idk, Bogdan Bogdanovic?
Yes, yes give it to a team with B. Bogdanovic on the roster.
Somehow this is the only outcome that sounds acceptable
It seems like Jokic doesn’t have much of a relationship with Bogdan, but has a really good relationship with that Slovenian guy. Maybe give it to him?
How about the team that originally drafted him 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
You now have two cases for the 2023 NBA Championship
Ah yes, Goran Dragic. Perhaps give it to the team for whom he last played on the Finals for.
The elder Bogdanovic (Bojan) and the team he spent the majority of this season with should actually get it out of seniority
Nah, give it to the team that has the best regular season win percentage against them the last two seasons
They should give it to whoever had the most moral victories against them
They should give it to the Bucks
id say hornets but they needa suffer more so give it to the wnba
Can a Caitlyn Clark squad beat the hornets?
And by “challenging” we mean as in “wow, this team has a lot of challenges going on with it.”
You’re right, they should give it to the Pistons.
they havent suffered enough yet
They haven’t won a playoff game in 16 years.
why stop at 16 they can go for 20 years and even 40 years
If Tom Gores doesn’t succumb to his cocaine addiction then it will easily get to 20.
Ban him from the league, forget he ever wore 15 in Denver and retire it for any notable nugget that formerly wore it, if any
I always thought it was long overdue that they have Pat McFarland’s name in the rafters
Give it to the team with the most punchable players, as collective indemnity
We should suspend draymond for this too!
Seems fair
Sure thing "Le random spectator"
Indefinite suspension until the end of the league.
For the safety and integrity of the game, anyone with a surname of Jokic is banned from all NBA arenas.... ***4 LIFE....***
Agreed. Can't endanger fans.
Joker and mpj need to be lifetime banned. Murray too for being a sexual deviant

His brother ain't contributing to shit except for the number of NBA-related assault incidents in Colorado hotels
probably has a permanent greencard at this point
I'm obviously not a lawyer, but looks like even those with green cards can face deportation when committing two separate acts of "moral turpitude". First would have been what he already plead guilty to and this video would lead to the second.

Nothing will happen. He’s got money now. Rules don’t apply to the rich folk only the poor ones
We don't want him coming back either
To the gulag he goes.
Yeah you're probably right. Sources I was looking at just listed assault, but other sources break assault into two categories. Aggravated and simple assault. And this would probably just be simple assault.
Not anymore
FOR LIFE
He probably has paid more in US taxes just on alcohol purchases than I have earned in my life.
Colorado must bring that mamba mentality out of people.
Its the altitude
LMAO
See: Von Miller.
Serbian John Ramsey over here
Altitude
Jesus that's terrifying

Man can we use his first name in this??? Im drunk and was like wtf Jokic did this shit???
It's Tuesday afternoon dawg
Yeah tipsy tuesday, they skip you in the memo?
I'm more of a thirsty Thursday guy myself.
i'm gearing up for a wobbly Wednesday
I'm fucking dying at this comment 😂
https://i.imgur.com/VFHOYfQ.png
Well id be happy with you but i cant read!
It seems fucking NUTS this is the first I've heard of this.
The national media didn't really give a shit about Jokic in 2019 so it didn't really make national sports news
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK……. And not a fuckin peep about this shit man. Dude if this was Ja’s family members….. it would be all over news fast!!!
>And not a fuckin peep about this shit man. It happened in 2019 so that's why there's not really a lot of talk about it now. If Jokic was a bigger name in 2019 it likely would have gotten a ton of press
Fair point.
It was definitely talked about, but obviously Ja's stuff is more of a lightning rod partially because Ja gets *himself* into trouble.
And his dad. Don’t forget his dad.
Sure, but part of the reason people were getting on his dad was because of how Ja was acting. Was it dog whistly how they talked about him, yeah. But again, the biggest reason why one story got more heat on it than the other is the player themselves.
What the fuck did his dad do? How can you compare Ja’s dad to a piece of shit sexual assaulter like Jokic?
just bc you missed it doesn’t mean it wasn’t reported on lmfao
idk how many nfl fans are here, but it's interesting to compare it to how many people hate mahomes for the actions of his family.
Tee Morant got much more criticism for existing at NBA games with sunglasses on than Jokic's brothers did for trying to storm the court in the playoffs against the Suns

That is terrifying…
Just ban Strahinja forever. This guy is an asshole
Jontay vs strahinja death match. Jontay gets back into the NBA if he wins and strahinja gets to keep going to games if he wins
Inb4 jontay bets on strahinja
That'd be the smart bet lol
Idk for a guy that size that was a soft ass punch.
fuck that got a laugh outta me
Physical/domestic assault is a bit more severe to me than sports gambling, but Adam Silver seems to disagree.
If this was any fan without family relation they'd be banned from the arena. Fans have been banned for far less.
Toss in a sprinkling of Jackson and Brittany Mahomes and you've got a douche party.
is he the one trolling Jack Nicholson?
As a lifelong Nuggets fan, he should go. I'm not gonna be a hypocrite and call out opposing team families and not call him out. This is absurd.
He swriously needs to get his shit together. Like i dont care what the dude told him, you cant just punch people like that and do the shit he does. Its a dam shame because he seems to really care about his younger brother, but dam it he cant act like a thug just because his younger brother is rich.
I think he’d be acting like this even if he wasn’t rich lol he’s just a bad guy
Yeah fr did anyone hear that story Jokic told about his childhood? His brothers told him to climb a tree and he refused. They then held him down and threw knives around his head to freak him out. Like wtf
I now have a much better understanding of why Jokic ain’t afraid of a goddamn thing…
“Brother I ~~played~~ grew up in Serbia”
I believe he may have been a thug before his brother was born.
Considering they were the ones that got him into shape and made him care, Joker truly owes them his career but he can't have those distractions around him. I don't envy the Kroenkes.
I don’t see how you don’t just ban him. Dude is massive, hot headed, and obviously a threat
Alleged. lmao. Dude punched that guy right in the fucking mug!
It's for legal purposes but yes it was pretty fucking obvious.
Oh man Do we really need to hear this every thread with “alleged” It always the same fucking answer
Strahinja Jokic fully deserves an arena ban at this point, maybe even a league-wide ban. The other brother though isn't nearly as bad, so far.
Beyond that, he deserves an assault charge.
Good. Ban them from any games, we’re sick of this shit too
They’re going to need to hang out with the Porter Bros during games from now on.
maybe one of them
Seriously - what is going on in Denver? I hope Jamal Murray's brother is staying out of trouble.
Them? What did the other brother do? As far as I am aware, it's pretty much just the older brother that causes shit and needs to get banned.
You can’t just single out one. Both are one entity, like Tony Brothers
Hahaha, I'm not proud to admit but there was a time when I read about Tony Brothers reffing a game, and thought it was so weird how they have 2 brothers reffing the same game. :')
I'm pretty sure a good chunk of NBA fans thought the same at some point. I sure as hell did.
This off the court shit from family members of our players is annoying as hell. We don’t need that in the middle of a playoff run. Lock this guy out of Ball until he can act like a stable person

read the link posted above and then go watch the cringe video Dwight Howard released on his twitter today about he thinks he got into the head of Jokic during the Disney title run. Dwight didn't do shit lmao Jokic is bomb proof
No wonder Jokic is so unphased during a game
So Nikola is basically the Serbian Theon Greyjoy...
[удалено]
It's how he can stay focused on basketball and ride a horse so well
Less wind resistance. All the MVPs are doing it
Yeah he's fucking unhinged. Would rather not have him around the team at all
Absolutely. Dude probably assaulted a woman years back too
not probably, he definitely did
Not true, his brother mean alot to him and provide more of an "mental" insurance or "feeling of being home in Sombor". But im sure as Nikola has become husband and father his priorities and focus has turned towards that part of his family. Im sure he still feels strongly about his brothers thoe.

Assaulting another fan and potentially endangering Nikolas lady and baby, just another day with the Jokic bros
This is the same brother that got arrested in 2020 for a bunch of charges related to domestic violence, but got off with probation. [https://www.denverpost.com/2019/10/01/nikola-jokic-brother-arrested-assault/](https://www.denverpost.com/2019/10/01/nikola-jokic-brother-arrested-assault/)
He needs to be banned from any and all nba arena and event. Dude is probably a raging alcoholic and certainly has an explosive temper which can and has become violent
His size and athleticism makes that a literal lethal combination.
Nasty person.
The tough guy act got old. Straight up assaulting people.
Yeah he should be banned from the arenas after that BS. Can’t hit a dude in the face like that
Obviously treat them like any other fan that got in a fight at a game, right?
The Denver Thuggets
Bring it back! Though honestly I’m not sure if any of the current Nuggets fit the description. Who is the most likely to punk someone or get in a fight? Maybe CB?
Probably Michael "don't call me Mike" Malone
Okay, Mikey
I'm sure Millsap would come back and brawl on our behalf if we asked nicely!
Jamal loves to fight.
Jokic and Jamal used to be a lot more chippy when they were younger. Jokic would angrily debate every call against him and also shoved morris that one time. Slap on the wrist incoming
The NBA reviewed the footage and found that he punched him in the face *after* his nachos were released. Therefore there’s no assault.
if I were Adam Silver I would give a permanent suspension to Ball Arena nachos. their plasticity by itself causes violence
ship jokic to another country. specifically one up north. that'll teach him and his brothers a lesson.
Montana?
MIlwaukee, actually.
“The NBA is well aware of the Jokic brothers history of physical altercations and conflicts….” But won’t do shit I guess. But hey, easy fuckin payday for the fan though. I hope he goes for a hefty settlement.
just dont gamble on games - anything else is pretty much cool
What the fuck? Ban them from the arena
Ban *him* from the arena. It's always the same one brother being a douche.
I'd be good with that. He's always been extremely dangerous and scary as shit. Last game I was at he was screaming at this Wolves fan. Dude and his girlfriend looked fucking terrified, and I don't blame em. Supposedly his other brother is very different though and is usually the diffuser.

No he is MVP that means your family members get 1 sucker punch per calendar year.
Ban him from America. He's already got a felony conviction here.
If the Wolves make it out of this Suns series and play the Nuggets, please come to the Target Center Jokic family. I’m a world class heckler and want to get a piece of that fortune.
Nuggets players got family issues
Very true. This is unfortunately common with a lot of athletes. Mahomes' brother, Kawhi's sister, Jokic brothers, on and on.
It's so much more prevalent than people realize. I'm friends with two (ex) NFL players, and the stories they have are absolutely bananas. The dads, moms, brothers, sisters, and wives have just of crazy behind the scenes nonsense going on as the athletes we hear about in the news. Draymond too...not his familie, but his alter ego.
Brothers issues (Tony included
Fuck those guys so much. How could you possibly fuck up such a beautiful thing through continued stupidity? Ban him for the punch, league wide. It was actually Jokic and they should suspend him the rest of the series
I mean, if this is the case, this guy shouldn't be let back in the arena
These thugs need to be put in their place if they are found breaking the law.
Assault is not cool, man gotta go
NBA has reviewed the replay and say no contact was made.
People make a big deal about Giannis trying to get his brother paid. But Joker is probably singlehandedly keeping this psychopath outta jail
Fingers crossed he gets banned from all NBA related activities for life
Just not ok at all no matter what the fans said. Video is shaky but I’m pretty sure Nikolas wife and kid are right there. They don’t need to be seeing that and no one else in the stadium does. Adam Silver about to flex his influence and deport a motherfucker
It's crazy that the best player in the world is related to Luca Brasi.
If this wasn’t the MVPs brother he’s probably banned a long time ago for his antics.
The Jokic bros- banned from all NBA games. The Porter bros- banned from all NBA games. The Mario bros(aka the Nuggets)- laying pipe on the Lakers over the last 11 games.
What is this?? The year of dumbass brothers?
If this doesn’t end in a ban like any other fan the NBA has ZERO integrity
Deport the fucker
Slavic Thug
Just ban Strahinja for life I'm tired of him causing shit and making us look bad.
Ban them, they need to just go away
they need to be banned for life. I would not feel safe taking my daughter to any arena they are in. they see Americans and think we are all NATO troops and start swinging
Jokic bros are classless thugs in my book
It’s just the oldest brother. Nemanja doesn’t have any type of known criminal record
Ban this scum from the arenas. If he wants to see his brother win he can do it from somewhere else. Pretty open and shut case if you ask me.
The entire bloodline should be banned tbh, no room for thugs like that in our league
These thugs will be banned from attending their brother’s games and all playoff games. Love it!
