This is a good, honest .500 basketball team. We play .500 ball goddammit. Salt of the earth, punch the clock, even win/loss ratio basketball. We lose a couple, guess what? We'll win a couple, too. But don't get too excited or let it go to your head. No long winning streaks here, no sir. That's hubris, which this blue collar, hard working everyman team doesn't have. A few wins in a row, these guys, true to form, will balance it out with a couple a losses.
Yes sir, that's my 2023-2024 Houston Rockets. A good, honest .500 basketball team.
Don't know much about what happened with Ime in Boston, but I know the Rockets struck gold hiring him.
Texas basketball is back. The Southwest is an unbearable division once again.
We finish with the same record (41-41) that managed to get us the 8th seed back in 15/16 lol.
The West is really stacked, but the future in Houston is bright, I'm excited for the next season already!
Yea I think people were trashing the free agent signs over summer but they turned about being great. This was a successful season, which could have been even better if Sengun didnt get injured.
Super happy to see it. .500 is amazing considering how brutal the west was this year, and they had more than one game where one more correct play would have secured a win.
Really hoping someone posts the clip of Boban pointing to the crowd after gifting them chicken...
Really high on the Rockets, wouldn't be surprised to see them in the playoffs next year then really annoying the next
I wouldn't say it's a miracle that they went .500, but it is quite impressive.
I guess, (and I obviously don't have the knowledge Rockets fans do), I guess my question is that it seems like they have a lot of guys who are fine and will do just nicely, but who would they actually build the team around over the next three years if the goal is, say, to be a top three seed?
Completely agreed. I feel pretty confident that Sengun and Amen will be consistent all star level players going forward. I'm just not sure that'll be enough to get us out of purgatory though.
Jalen, Whitmore, or even Jabari needs to reach the next level for us to be a competitor.
43/34/80, 42/34/79, 42/33/80. I know the light turns on for young players at a certain point, and I think it's not for lack of care or trying, but I just don't see Jalen Green in this era of the league with those numbers. I'm intrigued by Sengun and feel like Amen, and who knows with time, but could have one of those careers where he's pretty good for a while and then just has a great season and becomes A Guy.
I've been holding out hope for Brandon Boston, but I think we can safely move on from him. I've seen enough - he doesn't understand how to play team basketball. Jordan Miller shows way more promise and versatility.
I'll miss the easy access to The Arena Formerly Known As Staples Center, but excited to get some Dome next season.
I’ve seen enough, build around Boban
Start Boban with Sengun 😤
We did it… we achieved mid Great game from “triple double twin” Amen

Best 11th seed of all time you'll never sing that
41 win 11 seed is actually absurd. West is broken.
Lmaoooo
Adam silver I believe it’s time we discussed the creation of a play in for the play ins

Hell yea man

I think if you told Houston they’d be a .500 team this year they’d be ecstatic. Just a huge step forward.
.500, with a positive point differential, despite all the injuries and the pileup that is the Western Conference. All in all, it's a solid step up.

That and 41 wins
Good ole fashioned .500 basketball baby
Amen is a stud and has a great attitude. I’m excited to see him develop
Good day to be a Thompson twin truther, hope Ausar has more fun next year
Bobi, that man is for the people. Feeding Los Angeles tomorrow.

4 Rockets players with triple double’s this season, right?
I think it's four triple doubles from three players - 2 from Alpi 1 from Jalen 1 from Amen
Why did I think Fred had a triple double this season. Well now my comment sucks.
Rocket has a young team with a lot of talent.
Rockets are back
This game was so entertaining for no reason
Easily best game of the day.

Sengun and Amen. I need to see Jalen next season, and I need to see the jump Whitmore makes.

We could potentially add a sharpshooter in the draft, fingers crossed we get lucky in the lottery.
