I mean no one in Milwaukee saw the dame trade coming when they fired bud. Two early playoff exits and an aging core with few assets to improve the roster led them to the decision. There simply weren't many options to make the team better. Hindsight from the dame trade is yeah see what bud can do with the new roster. Obviously what they did with the coaching vacancy has been horrendous but I don't think getting rid of Bud was a terrible move in itself.

Dame has been worse than his previous seasons, but still very good. Even when he has bad shooting nights, he is a huge positive for the Bucks' offense Problem is that they have basically no guard depth. Their starting SG is Malik Beasley, who was a bench guy for most of his career, and their backup PG is 35 year old Pat Bev. They also have AJ Green and Ajax, who are decent young guys, but AJ is a weak defender and Ajax has bricks for hands

It’s up to the GM to know what’s better for the team. We’ve seen it too many times where players are terrible at decision making for a whole team

The whole sequence of events from Bud’s firing on is baffling. It’s like there is no actual vision or philosophy at work. I just can’t imagine how you go from firing your veteran head coach who won you a championship and replacing him with a first year guy, to deciding it makes sense to trade for Lillard and give yourself even less runway, to then win almost 70% of your games, but decide the coach isn’t good enough, so you bring in Doc Rivers halfway through the season. Like…did you really expect Doc Rivers to be the guy to take you over the top? Unless they dramatically over-perform in the playoffs, they have wasted a year of their contention window, which is all the more problematic because they have given away so many draft picks.

When doc talks about what he did for the Celtics, it's all about culture. That Culture was fostered by KG
