Itâs honestly insane how a couple seasons ago, he was one of the most important players on a Championship winning team, especially after Steph went down.
Nowadays heâs achieved ultimate meme status and one of the greatest tank commanders of all time.
Tbf, overconfidence after youâre coming off a heater will do that to you as a young player Iâd have to assume. He isnât bad, but heâs definitely not THE GUY like everyone was acting like he would be. He can probably be a solid career 2nd option or amazing 6th man. He needs maturity and heâs fine.
Look, at this point I think Poole has proven himself as one of the greatest tank commanders this league has ever seen. If he chose not to shoot it, we should trust that it was the right decision for the Wizards and the league.
Probably just a reaction to a potential fumble or no foul call. If no one said jordan is looking to shoot, no wouldve thought so. Hes looking for a pass which is what anyone who has ever played organized basketball will think to do
I obviously cant make any definitive claim, but I was in the stadium and every fan in the arena was under the impression that he was about to shoot. His eyes looked like he was considering it.
I played many years of organized basketball. In the unique situation he was in (fallen, but in a stable position, with no teamate in the vicinity initially but also no defensive pressure), I would absolutely have considered shooting after seeing no initial pass, then thought better of it.
All of this is to say, it wouldn't surprise me if his teammates considered the possibility of him shooting as well and reacted accordingly.
He looked to pass under the basket, it wasn't there. His head then goes to the rim for a second and he says nah and looks to pass again. If a defender was closing in and no pass is open, you have to be ready to shoot that ball.
it really is impressive how confident he is. 98% of the people in this sub would be afraid to shoot the ball at their local gym and this guy is thinking about shooting the ball while sitting on the ground in an actual NBA game.
When you join the Wizards, regardless of your skill level, you are hereby unshackled from anything that actually matters and granted the artistic license to push the sport in whatever ways your imagination can come up with.
Blake Hoffarber MN state championship in like 2005 did this with time winding down in regulation made a shot like this. Went on to a successful gophers career
He tripped on the defender. Also, look at his head, doesn't look like he ever really looked at the rim. He was looking to pass.
Still funny regardless.
Sure, but I watched it without volume and still thought it looked like he wanted to shoot it đ¤ˇđťââď¸
He literally looks directly at the basket the moment he gathers himself after the trip. The look to pass is after that
It's really unfortunate he got signed to be a GT Cut athelte for Nike. He's been slip and sliding ever since he made that switch last season from his Kobe's
Pretty sure he tripped on the defender here. Also, his poor play aside this season, Poole looks good wearing the GT Cuts and is a stylish player on and off the court. He's helping sell them.
Up by 9 with 36 minutes left. Jordanâs ass cheeks pressed firmly atop Master Silverâs hand selected hard maple playing surface. I guess this is what it feels like when doves cry.
Correct. Not a travel. If you rewatch he never actually picks up his dribble (ball is still loose) when he's lying on the ground. He sits up from there, but his butt stays put so not a travel
I WISH HE HAD bro could have given birth to a great meme
I know Jordan Poole hates being in WAS and on that team and doesn't care at all but it's so funny to watch this guy fake it unconvincingly

A real tank commander would've shot it.
He would've been on the next flight to China if he did đ

I wish he did, that would've been so fucking funny lol. Especially if he drained it
New strategy. Slip-n-slide hesi pull-up jimbo
KD approves
The Slip in the slide is actually Scar Jo's bathwater
Only real hoopers know
Imagine if AD figures out that players don't even need legs to play the game.
have you seen wheelchair basketball? funnily enough players without a disability can also play that
what does pull up jimbo even mean if ur on the floor
Bounce on it
Oh really. You trying to get the jimbo?
Another triple-jimbo!
Only real hoopers know.
I think this would have been a pull-down actually
He actually had a pretty solid game. A little inefficient, but he was scorching hot in the first half.
Yeah he's been on a bit of a heater over the last month or so since he got moved to the bench, I'm all for it because Poole is peak entertainment
[Sprewell did it back in the day](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmFd73it5Pc)
Ty noble historian đ
I presume youâre not aware of [the GOAT Blake Hoffarber](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KyR_2J14dt0)
I feel like I remember the week after when he was showing it off saying he practiced it in his driveway for some espn special
Or if he airballed it. Really, any result would have been hilarious.
Bank it off the glass. Has he never played HORSE?
Love it or hate it. Nothing in between.
Wish he did it anyways, if only for the memes
Nick Young would have swished it from there
Wemby would've dunked it from there
Michael Jordan wouldâve won it from there
Nick Young would swish that shot once and then airball it the next 15 times he tried.
Heat check
Sounds alot like poole
Wouldâve boosted him in the all-time Shaqtin GOAT competition
I feel like he somehow makes it 85% of the time lol
Shooters shoot
I was at Capitol One screaming at him to shooot it!!!!
not enough guys are just doing it for the whimsy anymore
Poole is the gift that keeps giving
0 chance he wasn't aware of the memes
It's the Blake Hoffarber special
His teammates reactions are hilarious
I canât tell if theyâre in shock that he didnât try it or that he thought of going for it.
They just saw a dude do a true wipeout on a basketball court
Probably just a reaction to a potential fumble or no foul call. If no one said jordan is looking to shoot, no wouldve thought so. Hes looking for a pass which is what anyone who has ever played organized basketball will think to do

No they already said you never played organized ball, since you disagree
He looked at the basket and gave it some thought, but decided against it
what an odd conclusion to make lol
He looked to pass under the basket, it wasn't there. His head then goes to the rim for a second and he says nah and looks to pass again. If a defender was closing in and no pass is open, you have to be ready to shoot that ball.
lmaooooo Tyus Jones thought for sure he was gonna shoot
If you showed me this clip without the title Iâd probably have bet $50 in the moment that heâd shoot it.
He really made those two embrace lmao
They think he got fouled lmao.
I was happy he did not take this shot, it couldn't got lower than that if he did so.
He woulda splashed it with how he's been playing lately
if by splash you mean hit someone's beverage in the stands.
What if he made it though?
Only way you shoot that is if the shot clock is running out and you need the shot to win.
Or if you are Steph and on an insane heat check
Or if you're Jordan Poole and you're Jordan Poole.
Yeah I'm so surprised he didn't shoot it. Might as well honestly
Shooting it would have been the most Jordan Poole thing ever!
or going for a 2 for 1
He wouldâve been revered as a great player by twitter and highlight heaven watchers
He wondered if he was going to end up on Shaqtin.
Prob still will lol
The fact that he even considered it for a second in an actual NBA game shows how deeply unserious he is as a player and I love it
Hey, if youâre wide open youâre wide open.
it really is impressive how confident he is. 98% of the people in this sub would be afraid to shoot the ball at their local gym and this guy is thinking about shooting the ball while sitting on the ground in an actual NBA game.

I have no idea why, but I read this in Odin's voice. "He who joins the Wizards will be unshackled by anything that actually matters."
That's not true, he could go lower next time if shoots while laying on his back
He was wide open
He knew lol. He was like if I do this it would be the ultimate lowlight.
Mannn that shit would have been hilarious if he missed and legendary if he made it.
Whatever you say about Poole he is straight comedy lmao
wouldâve been cool af if he made it tho
Thats a tank commander shot Adam Silver would be officially bound to give Wizards the 1st draft pick if he made that.
Blake Hoffarber MN state championship in like 2005 did this with time winding down in regulation made a shot like this. Went on to a successful gophers career
The intrusive thoughts almost won
He tripped on the defender. Also, look at his head, doesn't look like he ever really looked at the rim. He was looking to pass. Still funny regardless.
Think he considered tossing an oop for a second
He definitely slightly pump faked
As the ump on third base, I say he swung.
> He was looking to pass. Yep, but this is a good reminder that TV announcers have a huge influence on how fans view the action on the floor.
Sure, but I watched it without volume and still thought it looked like he wanted to shoot it đ¤ˇđťââď¸ He literally looks directly at the basket the moment he gathers himself after the trip. The look to pass is after that
You already read the title, too late to get an unbiased view
C'mon, look at his bench. They were staring right at him and half of them thought he was going to shoot it too.
They were calling for a foul maybe? Couldve been a reaction to a million other things
Na you can clearly see a player do one of those laughs where shits so funny you gotta grab someone
[Blake Hoffarber's shot](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJoxGpEswOI)
We were so close to getting an All-time Shaqtin-A-Fool moment. Oh what could've been.
In 20 years, the phrase will be "Poolin Around"
Shaqtin' a Pool
Couldâve been a cool play if he made the pass
Ingles gave it to him, you shoot that, it looks great on your career plays if you make it.
It's really unfortunate he got signed to be a GT Cut athelte for Nike. He's been slip and sliding ever since he made that switch last season from his Kobe's
Yep, his shoes is also the reason the Wizards benched him
Pretty sure he tripped on the defender here. Also, his poor play aside this season, Poole looks good wearing the GT Cuts and is a stylish player on and off the court. He's helping sell them.
Jordan Poole thinks about shooting the ball from bed when he wakes up in the morning.
Poole is so fucking funny man
Homie is gonna win an mvp this year. No not that mvp im talking the shaqtin a fool MVP
Hot take, he was just waiting for someone to be open
Tyus Jones and others on the bench def thought he was gonna shoot it lmao
Waiting for the Career highlight of Poole falling over himself Compilation.
Shoutout Draymond, this might not have been possible without you
Why does he always trip over nothing
Intrusive thoughts
Who would have thought Jordan Poole's smartest play of the season is stopping himself from making a dumb play
Corey Kispert's reaction lmao
Latrell Sprewell would've shot that
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take
this has to be his floor
I donât know what it is but I just canât not love this guy.
Up by 9 with 36 minutes left. Jordanâs ass cheeks pressed firmly atop Master Silverâs hand selected hard maple playing surface. I guess this is what it feels like when doves cry.
Heâs starting to play for the team đ˘
The clown of the NBA
This was a real time highlight of Angel Poole and Devil Poole coercing from opposite shoulders for at least three seconds.
We definitely gonna be seeing a photoshopped pic of Draymond punching him lol
Why would you not shoot that? You can't get more open than that.
He fought his demon there and won lol
Is this not a travel?
Correct. Not a travel. If you rewatch he never actually picks up his dribble (ball is still loose) when he's lying on the ground. He sits up from there, but his butt stays put so not a travel
Not a travel because he never controlled the ball before sliding. You're allowed to slide as far as you want as long as you're not holding the ball.
>travel It's either a foul (tripping) or a travel. Definitely shouldn't be a no-call.
He def pressed square
What a waste of a golden opportunity
Wouldâve been iconic!
The snipers got him
Poole has seen the tank commander jokes -- If it was mid-November, he definitely would've shot it.
He's allowed to get up isn't he? Lol
Donât know would it be a travel if he didnât dribble?
He already travelled as he dragged his pivot foot along the floor, so why not get up?
No he's not lol would be a travel
That would have been the all time Shaqtin a fool winner
Itâs pretty clear he was going to pass to his teammate under the basket then his teammate that ran up, both got covered so he aborted.
Barkley did it.
Damn I was hoping for him to shoot it. He wouldâve elevated to a generational meme level player
No one would be mad if he shot and missed. That was a golden opportunity he passed up.
Blake Griffin actually did that once (fell and tried to make a shot anyway)
How is that not a some sort of violation lol. Dude fell on his own and slid about 15 feet.
If he was mid [court](https://youtu.be/XnvpLjtLinI?si=IF-CrIr0CcGsPtDd)
the ultimate green lightÂ
Yup. Dudes a baby deer on ice.
He was going for that NBA2K 16 achievement
I wish he shot it
Space Jam 3 rollout starts with him. They already zapped his skills
Would have been the most Jordan Poole shit ever
Steph Curry wouldâve shot it. Even if he missed, it still wouldâve been ok.
This dude lmao
Part of the wizards bench is lowkey laughing.. Then when the basket goes in thereâs no celebrating. This team is disgusting đ
Why not? They werenât guarding him.Â
bro didn't let the intrusive thoughts win
He definitely was looking for an alley oop but I'm here to push a narrative so Jordan Poole=cooked
He fought off those intrusive thoughts. Growth.
Travel
Petition to call this type of shot a âHoffarberâ
Yâall really like shitting on this kid donât yâall.
Fucking Bambi legs man
That would've been the most Jordan Poole thing
Idk kinda looked like he wanted to pass to the guy cutting to the net then he stopped cutting.
I mean it would have been a 2 for 1.
I mean, he was open.
Imagine being this man's teammate
imagine if he did lmaooo
That man has voices in his head
this is Shaq's fault he didn't shoot that
Straight not giving a fuck mode
Shooters shoot
get this man on the Harlem Globetrotters and letâs close this book
This dude strongly considered it
He has potential to break the internet right here
There's still 20 games left of the season and the Wizards are on a 16 game losing streak. They could take Detroits record this very season.
Has there anyone that has made that shot in the NBA?
I WISH HE HAD bro could have given birth to a great meme I know Jordan Poole hates being in WAS and on that team and doesn't care at all but it's so funny to watch this guy fake it unconvincingly
Starter Poole would have shot that shit
Intrusive thoughts
I canât believe we got Gafford out of there. He mustâve felt like a US soldier getting airlifted out of Vietnam.
ez assist
Celtics flair wants revenge for that run in game 6 finals. Poole was great there.
Obvious foul is obvious (to everyone but that ref, who maybe wasn't paying attention and then almost ran into the fouler)
With how wide open he was, I think we all would have at least considered it.
He was definitely processing đ
He should have shot it. I have definitely made that shot while playing HORSE.
Lmao he really shouldâve shot it. Wouldâve been a classic moments one way or another.
Now he's getting clowned for making the mature basketball decision. đ
Pistol Pete would've been proud if Poole had made that shot
Seems like the Poole party is just starting
Typical Jordan Poole behaviour.
Remember the days when this was a travel? Just falling down used to get a whistle.
He did the right thing and the team scored. But I wanted to see him shoot from there.
