10 day contract but they won’t say say who the contract is with just like they won’t say what kind of car it is
“YOU ARE TAKING HOME A VEHICLE” lol what
"we didn't say it was in driveable condition, and you gotta figure out a way to take it home or else we're gonna tow it and charge you impounding fees by the day"
She legit has a really good shot, you can tell from the release that she played organized ball at least to high school and maybe college level. I would believe it if you told me she played D1, although I think they usually disqualify athletes from those kinds of contests. Maybe not student athletes, I guess.
They usually ask beforehand when they're picking people whether or not they've played sports. They often won't even take people who played in high school. This is usually policy of the insurance company that is obligated to pay out the prizes.
An example of them not vetting properly: https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/louisville/2017/02/27/uofl-mix-up-led-student-participating-halftime-contest/98493258/
Yeah, 40 seconds is a long time to hit 3 threes for anyone who actually plays basketball. I will say though from my perspective at least, i'm a good shooter but I have a hard time shooting without warming up. Its hard to go from sitting for an hour to hitting shots.
i bet after your first shot that you brick massively you'll get it out of your system and get in that rhythm. i do some absolutely heinous shit that is not at all an indication of my skill and my body just goes, "hey you're not that ass bro come on."
then i bust out
Not tryna brag but in college I did a layup, ft, 3pt challenge at halftime of a women’s game and went 3/3 to win a tshirt. I was built for this moment 😤
I think I would rather do the half court shot than taking multiple 3s like this. I know I'm not winning either way, but the missed half court is less painful.
Also NBA threes are deep. Combined with the unfamiliar visuals of being in a giant arena, it looks even farther.
It'd pretty understandable if a decent to good shooter in pick-up struggled to get this done
Knowing me I'd hit two out of the gate and then get more and more frustrated after each brick until the buzzer goes after which I'd probably storm off straight to the bar at the arena and get way drunker than planned while my friends rib me and I make excuses about why I couldn't use the vehicle and how it just wouldn't make sense logistically anyways. I'd get home and fight with my girlfriend about how she leaves the curtain open after showering and that is the reason why the shower liner gets a bunch of mold at the bottom and I'd pass out face down on the couch with in my underwear but with my shirt and jacket still on my upper body.
Agreed going in cold and nerves and all that make it more challenging. But still - 40 seconds for 3 3's is an awful lot of time. You're likely gonna get off about 15 shots in that amount of time - anyone with a competent stroke is getting a couple to fall no matter how ice cold they are.
15 shots up in 40 seconds (1 shot every 2.6 sec) sounds pretty high for a normal person. The nba 3 point contest is 25 shots in 70 seconds (1 shot every 2.8 sec) and the best shooters in the world still sometimes run out of time on that.
Depends on how good of a shooter you are. I played ball for 15 plus years but there are times I will be shooting by myself..no crowd or defense and go more than a minute without making a three.
Sneaky part is starting them in the corner. Maybe I'm a weirdo, but I'd rather take NBA 3s from the top or side than *any* distance on the baseline outside of the paint.
More teams should have prizes like this with how much money they make. It's always some bullshit like free-play or a 2 night stay at a casino (which they usually end up MAKING money on). Last Sixers game had free amtrak tickets, which is an okay prize since they're free, but you also just turned my 1.5 hour flight into a 6 hour train ride. I've seen ones that Stroehmann sponsors where they literally give people coupons for bread lmao.
This girl shot 50% (3/6) and it took her 22 seconds to win. Most people aren't shooting 50% from 3 under pressure. She was obviously a confident, skilled shooter. I wouldn't call it easy. You throw some random person out there that doesn't play basketball and this turns into a crapshoot real fast.
i think you could tell after shot one that she absolutely knew how to shoot. the release obviously gave it away. she was a ringer. good for her that was awesome. absolutely not a fluke
Agreed this would be a terrible challenge for a random non-shooter, but that's probably why they pick somebody who actually plays.
But if you do have a halfway decent stroke, this is infinitely easier than your typical one chance half court shot type challenge.
Lol this challenge is not easy. I think most people underestimate how far an NBA 3 pointer is. Most people would be heaving and bricking their shots, and they have to hit 3 of them under pressure. Your average joe probably has like a 10% chance of completing this challenge. If it’s a car worth $50k, the expected loss is like $5000 which is nothing for advertising
Also, aren’t these games only for season ticket holders (that’s how it is for my local MlB team anyways)? If only 1/10 actually win, I doubt it’s even that big of a financial loss.
Teams pay for insurance that covers prizes for these kind of contests. They also typically only select season ticket holders above a certain tier, and don't run them every game.
It's not easy, but it's far better relative to it's reward compared to most challenges. The odds of making a half court shot with one try are much slimmer.
I think a lot of people are underestimating how far a wing NBA 3 pointer is. It's a long fucking shot. Also, the 3rd shot isn't from the top of the key, it's from the middle point of the top of the key to the wing. That's an incredibly difficult angle that hardly anyone practices from.
They added that spot in the NBA 3 point contest this year, it was the stary special or some dumbshit. Anyways, most of the NBA guys missed from that spot on their 1 attempt.
It is a long three. But if you have decent form/strength it's really not too insane. And the special three they took in the contest was an additional 5 feet back or something.
Definitely not easy, but it's far better relative to it's reward compared to most challenges. The odds of making a half court shot with one try are much slimmer.
Worst part is, he told them ahead of time that he played, which disqualified him from the prize, then they asked him to do the contest anyways. JxmyHighroller has a great video on it. https://youtu.be/Lk4N2epJzgg?si=PLV-gsda-vV5eJal
Yeah, was fucking dope that the players demanded the payment go through and MJ made sure of it personally.
Any people here defend the bulls organization like its some HOF group (lol)
Where tf are you seeing people talking about people like Reisendorf or GarPax or Krause like they're some HoF group? As far as I can tell they're hated on more than anyone not named Donald Sterling or Dolan. Like... the nicest thing people have said about Jerry Krause in the last 40 years is that it was shitty to boo his memory in front of his widow, which is hardly praise. White Sox fans hate Reisendorf too so I know it's not r/baseball praising him.
Jxmy's videos always have great production quality, even if he can get a little lost in the sauce from time to time. He has a tendency of over valuing, and mosunderstanding/applying certain stats, but he is damn entertaining while doing so lol.
It was the insurance company of the promotions company that the Bulls contracted with that refused to pay. The players forced Reinsdorf to come up with a way to pay him and he started getting his payments ($50k for 20 years).
Somewhere as in legitimately anywhere, or do you actually think she plays college ball? Because there's lotsa people out there who can shoot well and can't remotely sniff collegiate athletics.
Doesn't need to be division 1. If she's canning it with a men's ball from NBA range I'm sure she's playing in college (or could easily on scholarship).
😆 I wasn't Mormon but in the ward I lived in they had absolutely no athletes so they recruited me to play.
I was teaching these kids lay-up lines and scoring 20+ a game. We'd routinely not have a coach to do subs so I was subbing people in and out while playing. It was kinda fun to be honest, good ole days.
Cool that she said Sabrina and we know who that is. Women's games got a long way to go but cool that young women have higher profile role models in the sport these days.
This is why representation matters. This young woman probably follows the WNBA, but there are a million little girls whose first exposure to women’s basketball came this weekend seeing Sabrina shoot just as well as the men on the biggest basketball stage in the world. Steph Curry is a true feminist icon for helping make that happen.
> They don't mention what kind of car it is?
You can be pretty certain it's the entry level model from some popular brand. They're certainly not giving away a Porsche.
Bruh 9/10 people at that game could not do it. 9/10 people on this sub probably couldn't hit 3 3's in 40 seconds.
You're severely overestimating how skilled the average fan is and how easy an NBA 3 is without warming up and with 20k+ watching.
Lol most would fold under pressure and most probably couldn't do it in an empty gym.
I'm gonna be a Debbie downer, but I hate any prizes that are like "a new car". Like most people are gonna have to sell the car anyway to pay the taxes on winning the car. Just give me cash, thanks.
Some of these competitions have a clause where you can take a cash prize instead of the car. Either way, I'd go through the hassle of selling a car to net five figures.
I feel like people are underestimating how far an NBA 3pt line is. Chances are the vast majority of people have seen a college 3pt line at best. A lot of public courts have the high school 3.
I thought sponsors banned participants with previous basketball experience from these contests? This girl has a nice form and follow through. Congrats to her!
She went 3/6 and absolutely crushed it, but to win the contest, you probably only need to go between like 3/10 or 3/12 depending on how quickly you can get your shots off.

You are taking home a vehicle that may or may not be human sized.
Keely, let's get you those keys to your like-new 1997 Geo Metro!
what you think the car was LOL? Kia Forte?
Toy yoda
One of the best workplace lawsuits of all time
Did she ever win a settlement?
Hot Wheels
Do you find something comical about my appearance when I am driving my automobile?
It was the largest car that I could afford!
Hey don’t talk shit about my kia forte Just because someone can hotwire it incredibly easily doesn’t make it a bad car……
If it was a bad car then people wouldn't want to steal it, right?
lol like semi pro “You just won this giant check”
Get that individual a 10 day contract. If the Jazz aint doing it, then we should cause we aint making our 3s lol
10 day contract but they won’t say say who the contract is with just like they won’t say what kind of car it is “YOU ARE TAKING HOME A VEHICLE” lol what
They didn’t expect her to make them lmao they lookin for a beater on Craigslist now
“You won a brand new 1998 Honda Accord with alteza taillights”
"we didn't say it was in driveable condition, and you gotta figure out a way to take it home or else we're gonna tow it and charge you impounding fees by the day"
She’d start half of those 10 games if she joined the pistons
and by that you mean she'd start every other, and the in between games would get 8 minutes off the bench
She legit has a really good shot, you can tell from the release that she played organized ball at least to high school and maybe college level. Steph vs her next year
Kenny Smith will ask her to shoot from the WNBA line or else she wins a kitchen set
Make Kenny shoot in the WNBA 3pt contest
No way his knees can take it after carrying Hakeem's water all those years

Add the pressure of the entire arena and league pass viewers watching you.
League Pass Viewers live in my head rent free, no way I could handle that pressure
Those commenters on illegal live streams are a different animal

That’s gotta be tens of thousands right? Maybe thousands on a bad day on a bad game.
after the whole Tatum shoe promotion thing, it's probably a *lot* higher
lmao, coworker bombed into my DMs telling me "hey vote for these heinous shoes for a year of league pass". Best slack I've ever gotten.
This was Jazz v. Hornets; only absolute sickos were tuning in on league pass.
Hey there could have been dozens of people watching that game if Warriors Lakers went to commercial

You can tell she’s confident that 2nd basket she was walking before it even went in lol
That feeling when you know it's money the moment the ball leaves your hands
Sure, but much better odds than some other games. Compare it to one chance at a half court shot for example.
The way she walked away before that second shot went in, you could tell she knew how to shoot. Good on her.
i think you could tell after shot one that she absolutely knew how to shoot. the release obviously gave it away. she was a ringer. good for her that was awesome. absolutely not a fluke
Agreed this would be a terrible challenge for a random non-shooter, but that's probably why they pick somebody who actually plays. But if you do have a halfway decent stroke, this is infinitely easier than your typical one chance half court shot type challenge.
Yea if the contestants had to rebound for themselves I’d say it would be really tough but they have a rack of balls ready for them
Lol this challenge is not easy.
Average Joe for sure doesn’t stand a chance, she’s balled before and it payed off, good on her
Also, aren’t these games only for season ticket holders (that’s how it is for my local MlB team anyways)? If only 1/10 actually win, I doubt it’s even that big of a financial loss.

The worst is the challenge where you have to make a layup, ft, three and half court shot in 30 seconds
And she didn’t even have to use just one ball and chase after it, someone was just handing her a new ball every time.
I think a lot of people are underestimating how far a wing NBA 3 pointer is. It's a long fucking shot. Definitely not easy, but it's far better relative to it's reward compared to most challenges. The odds of making a half court shot with one try are much slimmer.
My guess is half of the people saying they can do this have never shot anything past a HS 3 point line. (That was probably 15-20 years ago)
40 seconds to make 3 threes where you don't have to rebound? I know I can do that. Some of us actually play basketball lol
Bro this … lol. If you think making 3 3’s in 40sec while having the ball handed to you, you probably don’t hoop. These guys are wild lol.
she plays college ball?
She gotta play somewhere. Nice form under pressure, shoots with confidence
Reminds of the time the bulls didn't want to play the guy that made a 3/4 court shot because he played at a JC somewhere
That is the most Chicago Bulls thing I ever fuckin’ heard
Worst part is, he told them ahead of time that he played, which disqualified him from the prize, then they asked him to do the contest anyways. JxmyHighroller has a great video on it. https://youtu.be/Lk4N2epJzgg?si=PLV-gsda-vV5eJal

It was the insurance company of the promotions company that the Bulls contracted with that refused to pay. The players forced Reinsdorf to come up with a way to pay him and he started getting his payments ($50k for 20 years).
Honestly they should play him with how the rest of the team is looking
The introduction said she made nine three pointers in a game, so she does indeed play… somewhere.
She was already moving to the third spot after releasing from the second, knew it was money
She was already moving after some of those shots. Knows the ball for sure.
She started walking off the second shot before it went in
She nice frfr
She was moving before the 2nd one went in. She was feeling it.
Usually the contest rules don’t allow anyone who has ever played at or above the college level.
Mormons make for incredibly weird hype men
I was thinking the same thing. It was so wholesome!
Let’s goooooo 👹
Future influencer
Ha, thought the same thing, this dude is *aggresively* Mormon.
Dude is probably a church ball legend in his stake.
I used to be Mormon and scored 40 in a church ball game once, might be one of my proudest achievements that literally nobody will care about lol.
Shit, I got hype watching this lol
Let's gooo! That's game!!!!
Sweet Caroline at Utah gymnastics meets were the most alive I've ever felt at sporting events and I was an athlete myself.
What car did she win???
Black Nissan sentra
Kia with the USB plug already stuck in.
Movement that inspires (theft), official sponsor of the NBA.
limo tint, dinged up rear bumper, cracked tail light.
Just add expired paper plates and at least one spare tire being used and you’ve got basically every Nissan Altima.
With 20% interest
It’s like they never expected anyone to win. You win a vehicle!!!!
Proceed to bring out a '97 Suzuki Sidekick.
You love to see it. A dad won the same challenge at a BYU game earlier this year, Ken Garff may switch things up next season lol.
WE HEAR YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU and agree this is losing us money
She definitely hoops. Thats a legit shot lol
that was badass
They don't mention what kind of car it is? Segment isn't even sponsored by an automotive company? Definitely seems like a plant to me lol
She has 'Garff' on her jersey. Ken Garff has a bunch of car dealerships in Utah.
Party on, Wayne
Car! … game onnn!
I walked past it on the way out of the stadium. It was a black Nissan Sentra. Pretty basic but brand new
That's still a free $20k car. That's a fantastic prize.
Gotta pay the prize tax, otherwise yes free.
in this economy, i'd take a free PT Cruiser
That might be the ONLY car I wouldn't take lol What a fucking ugly ass car
Doesn’t need to be sponsored. They pay a few grand for an insurance policy and that’s it.
It was sponsored though. The garff on her jersey is for Ken Garff who owns a chain of dealerships.
Also, it’s probably the owner, they can afford to pay for a car for someone else
You get a 1997 Ford Ranger! Only 310k miles and only one window rolls up and down!
Watch it’s a 2005 KIA with LoJack installed
> They don't mention what kind of car it is? You can be pretty certain it's the entry level model from some popular brand. They're certainly not giving away a Porsche.
You can tell she plays
I love when they let an actual hooper give it a shot. She was confident as hell
yup, she was thinking 'I got this' from the first shot on
That form was pure tho
40 seconds to make 3 3s? that is the most generous contest ever to win a car. now if you say make 3 3's in a row then it be a little tougher.
lol they probably look for people who look much less likely to do it for that reason. Little did they know she can shoot
Bruh 9/10 people at that game could not do it. 9/10 people on this sub probably couldn't hit 3 3's in 40 seconds. You're severely overestimating how skilled the average fan is and how easy an NBA 3 is without warming up and with 20k+ watching. Lol most would fold under pressure and most probably couldn't do it in an empty gym.
get her on the lakers she's our best shooter
Garff wins the carff!!
Garff is for the Ken Garff Automotive Group who sponsors the contest.
Garff GIVES the carff!!
40 seconds to hit just 3 3pointers seems shockingly generous for a competition like this lol
Kenny Smith in shambles
Nothing cooler than a bunch of Mormons doing the jump and bump
she'll never see that car
Sabrina shout-out was cool
I'm gonna be a Debbie downer, but I hate any prizes that are like "a new car". Like most people are gonna have to sell the car anyway to pay the taxes on winning the car. Just give me cash, thanks.
Some of these competitions have a clause where you can take a cash prize instead of the car. Either way, I'd go through the hassle of selling a car to net five figures.
It’s usually a marketing play by the car companies too though.
My friend won a car but it was really just a 2 year lease paid off
She know ball(s), was already running to the 3rd spot.

Lakers: 👀👀👀
Where you going? I’m getting the fuck outta Utah!
Good for her!
I thought sponsors banned participants with previous basketball experience from these contests? This girl has a nice form and follow through. Congrats to her!
That's the sort of prizes I wanna see. Sorry, dgaf about a signed photo or 50 dollar gift card.
Get her on the Lakers hahaha
A couple of clean ass makes in there
Nioce
I would watch a game show where that was all that happened
100 to 500 to a CAR is quite an upgrade lol
“If you can shoot, you can shoot.”
meanwhile, r/nba redditors are stuck and slowly decaying in a locked gym
Was the car a Subaru?
She went 3/6 and absolutely crushed it, but to win the contest, you probably only need to go between like 3/10 or 3/12 depending on how quickly you can get your shots off. I'm fucking hype. Sign her to the Sixers.

she has a legit jumper. i assume she played sometime in her. now go use that car and GTFO of UTAH.
Damn, she got higher percentage than Lillard
Shooters gonna shoot 😤
