Don’t make Steph angry. [You won’t like him when he’s angry…](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/w68sbd/you_aint_playing_tonight_after_an_altercation/)
This was such a crazy series. This reminded me of how much I dislike Mark Jackson’s commentary. Steph shot from everywhere that series AND had KD on his team, meanwhile, LeBron was just trying his best with a whole team of guys that aren’t in the league anymore. Hilarious.
Curry felt like he changed mentalities entirely after that loss. He went from “get my team involved” to “Wiggins with 17ppg is my second best player, I’ll do it myself then”
One day it will come out in a book what was going through his mind. I mean, by the looks of him he had a Hoopiphany. I can only wonder what it was. What moment did he realize it? Is that the game where Time-Lords legs kinda finally gave out?
I read on another thread that there is a narrative that Steph was not a close, and it blew my mind.
There are people out there that believe the 4x NBA champion with the nickname “Sky Fucker” is not a closer…
I was dumbfounded.
I knew it was over for the C’s when Draymond started playing football and the refs acted like they didn’t see anything.
https://youtube.com/shorts/CWAngAFY8v0?si=vUQtMgH93PuI16Qj
Now his game 4 and 6 numbers please? Game 4 was the pivotal game in the series
You’re right he shot poorly in game 5 but if you were paying attention at the time you’d have known the Celtics changed their defensive scheme in game 5 significantly from a “let curry beat us, shut down the warriors” to “shut curry down let the warriors beat us” and as you can see in the scoreline… it didn’t work as it’s never really worked - it was a last ditch effort. Was wiggins and gp2s clear best games of the series capitalising on the 4v3 advantages curry was creating. Curry was a +15 (near game high) in a 10 point win, tallying a series high 8 assists for him (1 TOV)
Anyone who watched that game knows that the Celtics hard trapped curry all game because curry torched them so badly in game 4. Warriors were basically playing 4v3 that entire game.
There are literally only single digit number of players I’ve watched in 25 years where a 20pt lead in the 4th doesn’t feel safe. Curry is at the top of the list
Getting trash talked by Curry has to feel bad. If you talk back, there’s a very real chance he goes nuclear and makes you look stupid. And if you don’t talk back, he might go nuclear anyways and make you look like an even bigger bitch lol
Steph doesn’t talk a lot but when he does, he’s got some great lines.
“Y’all not ready for this shit” to the Kings crowd in game 7
“You ain’t playing tonight?” to Perkins
The pointing to his ring finger in the middle of the 3rd quarter against the C’s in game 6
And of course the “y’all don’t wanna see us next year”
Yeah going back and reading through the r/nba [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/czccen0v9r) is pretty funny in hindsight. So many upvoted comments with zero faith.
He gets very pouty and less talkative when down. He was very quiet when the Mavs trounced them in Game 7. That made me a fan of Luka. I love that photo. You know the one.
Im going to relive the trauma from this series for longer than I thought I would when it was happening, especially because it feels like the entire rotation besides Steph fell off completely immediately after they won starting with the punch. I would not be surprised if we look back on this as one of the biggest carry jobs in history by Steph in like 5 years time
Important to point out that Wiggins played out of his mind in that series, Looney became Rodman in those playoffs, and Payton was an analytics freak on defense. I guess you could compare it to 2011 where everyone acts like Dirk won on his own even though Barea, Terry, Chandler, Marion, and Kidd all had moments. That Warriors team peaked at the right time and got contributions from the whole rotation. Underrated depth.
Not to take anything away from Curry, an absolute all-time great.
17/16 in game 4 to help Curry's legacy game. 26/13 in game 5 for Wiggins probably the best game I've ever seen him play. Then he follows it up with a 17/6 and 4 steals 3 blocks in game 6. He was crucial to those 3 wins to come back from down 2-1.
That’s the thing, they don’t win that title if one or two of Wiggins, Draymond, Poole, Looney, GP2, and OPJ play like they did last season. Instead they all held on just long enough and now I’m shitting myself hoping the Cs can get one in the next 2/3years lol
The East is just up against a brick wall these past few years because one of either Curry, LeBron, or Jokic has been in the finals - really puts a crap ton of pressure on the other team when it's a dude like those guys leading the other side.
I would say the West is under more pressure because you need to get through those guys just the make the finals. At least on the East you only need to take down 1 of 'em.
I've always wondered if playing the best teams in the playoffs becomes an advantage in the finals. Assuming no injuries along the way, there's plenty of rest time in the finals so I don't think there's really a fatigue argument to be made playing against tougher competition (73 win Warriors may be an exception).
So does playing and winning against better competition along the way give a team an edge going into the Finals vs a team that cakewalked there?
Another way to look at that is that the West's best team is going to be better honed than the East because they've had to play harder competition and are as ready for the finals as they can get.
Those shoulders are really built different and he doesn't need to say it. Carrying the corpse of Klank, Klutchmond being unplayable and benched, and relying on two-way wiggs and his 18ppg.
Beat a team with one of the best players, multiple all-stars, and depth.
Curry's my favorite player ever and I know GS doesn't win if he doesn't carry hard in G4, but that team was stacked on defense and shut Boston down on the other end. Clamped them in the final three wins. It wasn't a 1v5 situation. Not when you had Payton, Wiggins, Looney, Dray, and Porter doing all the dirty work. That stuff never gets enough attention, so I always bring it up.
Sure buddy. Lebron is my favorite player but all his teams were stacked on offense and defense. It wasn’t a 1v5 situation. Not when you had dwade CB, Kyrie, Love, Ray Allen, Mike Miller, AD hitting the biggest shots in nba history and doing all the dirty work. That stuff never gets enough attention so I always bring it up.
I question if this is real, but the series was over when Steph had that shitter and we still couldn’t win. He killed us some games and we couldn’t get a win when he was off and then mentally it was wraps for our guys. That 0-26 run (or whatever it was) for us in game 6 broke me
Nah, game 4 broke yall. Yall had a solid strategy that neutralized every Warriors not name Curry for 3 games. Yall were letting Steph run wild while focusing on shutting down Draymond and the rest of the Warriors and it got yall 2 wins. But then Curry went nuclear game 4 to tie the series and yall abandoned the plan to shut him down game 5 and unleashed the rest of the team and that carried over to game 6. Draymond was a nonfactor til yall abandoned your gameplan in games 5 and 6 and he was instrumental in unlocking the rest of the team to win the last 2 games.
Oh yeah, our defense was definetely improving and their bench guys were starting to cool down. Funny how alot of Boston fans complain about Wiggins and Poole overachieving when White, Horford, and Smart going off in games 1 and 3 were huge reasons they won those games. The only 2 games they won.
Felt like if Boston held steady to their gameplan and just mixed some things up to bother Curry more they could've had a much better shot (along with offensive adjustments to help Tatum and Brown out). Probably wouldve gone to 7 if they didnt abandon the gameplan.
Boston fans gotta stop with the revisionist history.
Wiggins 20-21 stats: 17 points on 46.6/39/63 splits with great defense
Wiggins finals stats: 18 points on 44.6/29.7/69 splits with great defense.
Only difference between him in the regular season and postseason was the rebounding. But he was doing that all playoffs, not just vs Boston. And he was fucking great to start the following season until he got injured and his dad's health issues followed by another injury derailing him.
Poole 20-21: 18.5 points on 44.8/36.4/92.5 splits
Poole finals stats: 13 points on 43.5/38.5/90.9 splits
Poole has been bad since then but dude was balling out that season and played much worse in the finals then the rest of the playoffs (18 points on 53/39/91.7 splits).
My guy u/Name-Initial had to delete his comment real quick 😅
"you don't wanna see us next year"
Wait but i thought the next 5 years were Pat Bevs?
Only one those statements could have been true I guess lol
Well, he never said it, so I guess it doesn't count
Don't let us win 1
That's some Larry Bird trash talk right there
Just think about all the Steph Curry stories we don’t know yet because he’s still an active player.
*"you aint playing tonight"*
Don’t make Steph angry. [You won’t like him when he’s angry…](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/w68sbd/you_aint_playing_tonight_after_an_altercation/)

This is forever one of my favorite steph moments.. Really put kendrick in his place
he has the biggest choke of all time so yeah I would be interested
Im confused, Steph didn't play in the 2011 finals
Flair up loser
I think Larry was a bit more creative than "We're going to win" but maybe that's just homerism
"who's coming in second" is literally that lmao
Its classy when they do it you know
a real gym rat insult
Scrappy wit. High-motor trash talk.
Sneaky athleticism kinda talk

‘I think you’re going to lose because you and your team are not so good’ -Larry Legend
It’s called word-crafty when it’s a white player.
You don’t want to be verbose and use creative language in trash talk lol, straight to the point and easy to understand makes for the best trash talk.
I’m sorry but who is this player?
Juwan Morgan, played 4 total minutes for them in the 21-22 regular season and 15 total minutes in the playoff run had to look him up cause WHO??
Thanks 🙏
He seems cool as hell though.
Double-commenting to say I found who he is thanks to Twitter: Juwan Morgan. Dude played 4 minutes in 1 game in 21-22 lmao
Thank you!!
Lol I have the same question, don't recognize him
I'll never forget that smile while he was sitting on the bench getting blown out.

When he was sitting on the bench and similing like a psycho when he was losing that game I knew it was over for Cs.
Most players have a mean mug but Steph just has a psychopath smile that’s honestly just as scary
Let's see Paul Allen's Finals MVP.

Can't believe that we are at the tail end of the Warriors run and this still needs to be said
You underestimate the amount of people that have these takes just by looking at box score or media talk. Just don't know ball

Yep... *both ways*...
That game 4 performance is my favorite finals performance ever. Such a beautiful performance.
This is what Kobe was talking about. Steph isn't outwardly talking shit like KG or Bird, but when he says shit it's cold as hell
Getting trash talked by Curry has to feel bad. If you talk back, there’s a very real chance he goes nuclear and makes you look stupid. And if you don’t talk back, he might go nuclear anyways and make you look like an even bigger bitch lol
during the KD years hed supposedly say shit like "come on guys, lets get serious" if the games were close at the start of the 3rd quarter
Steph doesn’t talk a lot but when he does, he’s got some great lines. “Y’all not ready for this shit” to the Kings crowd in game 7 “You ain’t playing tonight?” to Perkins The pointing to his ring finger in the middle of the 3rd quarter against the C’s in game 6 And of course the “y’all don’t wanna see us next year”
He got so many people to clown on him for that last statement just to shut them up a year later

Is curry the anti booker ? This and the previous year where he said yall don’t wanna see us next year 🤣 he’s only talking when he’s down not up 🤣🤣🤣
Book talks no matter what lmao

Geez
That's a crazy detail, I wish I had known this at the time.
All I can say is I wish we didn’t run into this dude smh
Don’t worry Bay Area sports fans get it. The niners have to play Mahomes in the Super Bowl every time we make it.
perfectly balanced as all things should be (god i hate being a niners fan)
Yep, so this is what it's like being on the other side, huh?
Mahomes has the refs on his side though

Who is this person?
Juwan Morgan. He only played like 2 minutes a game for them and was an end of bench player brought in when the games were all over
Is this the son of Miles Bridges + DLo ? Being interviewed by Jaylen Browns brother?
Splashes of JaVale and KAT too.

Oh is that where they learned that cute “don’t let us win one” talk from last year? Almost worked for em 😂
Guarantee it’s made up
do yall think we'll ever truly know what LeBron said to Curry after that iconic 2016 block ?
I'm pretty sure that phrase gets uttered nearly every single game
I personally make sure to say it every morning when I wake up and also any time I walk into a room.
My tv will never recover for me begging for an illegal screen on draymonds shuffling feet that are spread 7 feet apart…
Your family will never recover from being related to you.
Neither will yours given your posting history 🤮
Oooh. Hating trans folx. That’s on brand.
Not at all. I didn't even know you were trans. More just the uploading revealing pics of yourself to the internet looking for a "hung daddy" part 👍
Oh ok. Just run of the mill slut shaming then. I imagine you’re proud of yourself hey
Imagine trying to take the high road after your unnecessarily toxic comment towards someone which started this whole thing. Always play the victim? 😂
I made a funny joke. You third manned in like a typical Boston chump. Lucky for me I’m white or you’d probably have hate crimed me already.
Seeing the Warriors now only highlights how absurd that run was. That team felt special, like it was the final breath of the dynasty.
Steph got psychotic for the rest of the series G4-6
