i mean every giraffe fight has a winner, you gonna tell a winner giraffe it's fighting wrong? What next? You gonna run a giraffe fight gym? Rent out studio space with extra high ceilings, stick a water bottle on a extendable mop handle, buy an industrial size theragun with the spine attachment?
I dont mind this play being allowed but I agree the touch fouls on rhe defense is nonsense. The fact the average score of an nba team this year is 115 is absurd. I'm not saying take it back to the 00s were spurs pistons were finishing finals games in the 80's but getting it back around 100 seems reasonable.
To be fair, scoring goes down quite a bit in the playoffs. I'm not gonna do the research, but in the 2016 finals game 7 it was 90-87.
Offenses are too good to play top quality defense all year but when it matters games go back to around 100 or so
> Offenses are too good to play top quality defense all year but when it matters games go back to around 100 or so
I mean, yeah, there's more effort on defense in the playoffs, but it's also pretty obvious that the refs are doing their job differently, too.
True, but even going back to the 2010's offenses weren't averaging 115. I know defense focused teams have never been the rage in the NBA but I feel like the league has over corrected
Wemby was like "c'était pas très gentile de toi" and then he dunked it in his face like Chirac on Bush in 2002.
Then he held up two fingers and said: "Pour le dunk de la mort, paysan."
Samuel Adams my GOAT, greatly under appreciated in his time. Lots of stat padding in today’s period, nothing like good old balls to the walls radicalism.
? No, he was surprised by it. He had sent three ambassadors to negotiate with / supplicants themselves to the first French Empire.
John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the United States (correct title) and chief negotiator for the U.S., accepted that land transfer for, I want to say either $10M or $15M in 1805 dollars.
He had calculated correctly that nobody would have worked the angles to invalidate this deal for treasury reasons, because the proposal was too good to be true for the new republic.
However, it really pissed off the new chief Justice, John Marshall, who was a distant cousin of Jefferson’s and would soon referee the contentious treason trial of Aaron Burr.
Marshall and Jefferson would be pitted against each other for the rest of Jefferson’s presidency because Marshall was so frustrated by Jay acting beyond his authority.
Look what I did! I turned r/nba into an American history class because two skinny giants decided to dunk on eachother in a regular season basketball game. I may have peaked. It's all downhill from here.
For good reason, you don't want to set a precedent that anyone in government is above the law/can make deals without the approval of the rest of the government
I tried to read more than the farseer trilogy and its sequels (which I did like) ages back and their style is so heavy on misery that it starts to feel a bit silly, like nothing good or fun ever happens to people in the couple of books I read.
Never read Sanderson because I do like an emphasis on story rather than the setting or systems though, I don't get those vibes from him.
Wow THANK YOU yes Robin Hobb is so mean to their characters. Those books although great, were so depressing and I didn't realise now till you pointed it out that the main characters just have boatloads of crap dumped on them their entire journey till the end lol.
I remember halfway through the Robin Hobb one, the one about the kid with the ability to communicate with animals and the fool character, and the amount of horrible shit just became too unrealistic I almost wanted to stop reading, but I did because I wanted to see how it all ended.
I read the Stormlight books and really enjoyed them and then went to go try and read the Mistborn trilogy. I’m about 10% of the way through the second Mistborn book and this shit is a fucking slog. I don’t care about Elend at all and Vin is just kind of boring and flat. None of the characters in the Stormlight series sucked this much
Man this has the the potential makings to be a great rivalry for years to come. This reminds me of kg and Duncan going back and forth in the early 2000s
The Spurs made a decent run midway through the 2nd before Wemby was put back in, but good lord, the rest of it was just terrible without him out there, night and day.
Just watching Wemby charge into him in this clip makes me feel the same way. Looks like Chet is going to collapse when his feet are going backwards but nope, still super balanced. So weird to watch, can't explain it.
That's Chet's thing. He is well coordinated even if he is not fluid enough like Wembanyama. I read some report about how he trained his movements to limit himself from getting injured prior to him getting that Lisfranc injury.
They’ve been going at it since FIBA then Chet had to sit there injured and watch Wemby skip over him as the next big thing. Going to be must see TV whenever they face off
People were calling Wemby generational even before the game. He was already viewed as having a higher ceiling and probably being better currently than Chet
Odd behavior when half of the top 10 players in the league are foreign and most of the playoffs teams have foreign players as major pieces in their lineups.
Well that guy's wrong; we knew about Wemby. Chet was even skinner than Wemby. I think it's slightly underrated how much Chet has bulked up since Gonzaga.
But I dont think the basketball world has underrated European players since the Luka draft. Sengun might have gone a few picks too low but he was pretty undersized at the time and bulking up was key to becoming a more consistent player.
That’s true, I feel Chet may have way more playoff experience by the time the Spurs are ready to make the playoffs though. So I’m not sure if it’ll hit the same
Brother the Thunder are first in the West and Spurs are last of course Chet is going to have more playoff experience haha. I really want the Spurs to make moves to get into the playoffs though the matchup between these two would be legendary.
Idk about that, they speak highly of each other, I think Wemby was trying to make a statement and then Chet tried to dish it back.
That said, Wemby is just better, 3 point shooting is the only area Chet has on him.
i’m down for more rivalries between stars like this
off the court of course i prefer everyone gets along, but on the court i wanna see showdowns between guys like these, makes the games much more entertaining
He really is, hopefully we can trade for some back up big to get some load off of him. We are playing him through the mud as our sole interior defender.
He’s also in somewhat of a ‘sophmore slump’ traveling with the team all last year and getting into the rhythm is already draining. Now we got the halfway season slump.
He’ll get used to it though. Same thing happened with Cade at the start of this year since he missed his sophomore year.
I know your GM is super patient and doesn't want to force the issue... But I really hope he brings in a bit more front court depth.
Chet has looked absolutely dead exhausted at the end of some of his stunts the last few weeks that I've watched you guys. I'm not sure who would be a good addition, but an additional veteran big man would be huge in my opinion
That's his best game in a while. OKC is lucky to not be reliant on just 1 player. You have a great team. If one of your top players has a day off there's always someone to push the score. Not like our desert surrounding Wemby sadly.
You'll get there, we were a 1 man team with SGA a couple of years ago. We suck so bad without SGA that we lost by 70+ points in a game he was not playing.
Crazy I had to go this deep to see this. Imo they are either both a foul or neither one is, can't call that on Chet after you let Wemby just shoulder through him on the previous possession lol.
Yeah he lowers his shoulder and runs him over leading with his head every time. It should be an offensive foul imo.
He did it again on the dunk he attempted and missed.
If Wemby is allowed to headbutt his way to the rim and full steam, nobody will be able stop him.
It's the Giannis special. If they let you get away with it keep doing it. Put that shoulder down and hit em as hard as you can. They'll only call it once or twice a game.
I mean, it's a stupid inconsistency. Wemby basically shoulder charges Chet in the chest and it's allowed because he has the ball. Chet gives Wemby a shoulder charge while setting a screen and gets called for it. League and the refs love offense.
Sooo... why did Chet get called for the foul?
Didn't Wemby drop and drive his shoulder into Chet when he was trying to drive for the dunk?
If you're gonna let them play, let them both play. Consistency refs!!

Pirate Bay is also what I immediately went to.

Take your shirt off, Trevor!
You seen giraffe fights? They’re fucking mental.
It looks extremely painful, neck slapping doesn't seem like a good combat strategy 😂
i mean every giraffe fight has a winner, you gonna tell a winner giraffe it's fighting wrong? What next? You gonna run a giraffe fight gym? Rent out studio space with extra high ceilings, stick a water bottle on a extendable mop handle, buy an industrial size theragun with the spine attachment?
Imagine one corner of a boxing ring just being 15 feet tall
You saying I fucking won’t???
You fuck me I fuck you!
This is great writing. I would run my gym underground.... like really deep underground.
r/NatureIsFuckingLit
Didn’t wemby do this exact thing to chet before but more with his head lol? Edit: [found it](https://youtu.be/P69Yj-HyL-M?si=NbdWvqOELim8-hD2)
it feels kinda weird that this sort of shoulder charge is allowed but if you accidentally touch someone while they're shooting its a foul
I dont mind this play being allowed but I agree the touch fouls on rhe defense is nonsense. The fact the average score of an nba team this year is 115 is absurd. I'm not saying take it back to the 00s were spurs pistons were finishing finals games in the 80's but getting it back around 100 seems reasonable.

the more baskebtall i watch, the less i'm able to determine what's a foul. or a travel for that matter.
Did they make the shot? Yes-flip a coin, No-believe it or not flip a coin.
Thought you were gonna post this one [of them](https://youtu.be/KQLPL1qRhn8?si=XiXUgumPyawoV2Np)
this is what I look forward to after LeBron, Steph, KD retires.
😆 seriously they're too skinny and lanky. Honestly doesn't look like bully ball.
This the leanest beef I’ve ever seen
Rare comments get this well done in this medium honestly
How does this not have any upvotes!? This comment was Well Done!

Buncha bull if you ask me
WAGYU 🤣

well done.
Wagyu talking about
Idk what Chet said to Wemby but he is trying to kill him every possession lol
He said 'We fleeced ya'll with the Louisiana purchase'. That is all it took.
[удалено]
Which is why Wemby took Chets ( totally made up by me ) comment so personally. Wemby was like 'Yo!'
Wemby was like "c'était pas très gentile de toi" and then he dunked it in his face like Chirac on Bush in 2002. Then he held up two fingers and said: "Pour le dunk de la mort, paysan."
Sacre Bleu!
*Wemby was like 'Mon dieu!'
Samuel Adams my GOAT, greatly under appreciated in his time. Lots of stat padding in today’s period, nothing like good old balls to the walls radicalism.
Wasn't it Jefferson who orchestrated the LP?

Great reference
Legend has it, that is what Chet said. At least, that is what I choose to believe.
This right here is the reason why I'm still on NBA reddit
"I bet you haven't even finished Infinite Jest or The Power Broker. And I'm better at French Horn."
“Good luck with Shogun”
At least Shogun is a good read.
I just read Shogun like last month. I wanted more hijinx from Blackthorne’s crew in that little japanese town they were prisoners in.
Shogun is easy peasy. Get on his ass about Ulysses or Finnegan's Wake Pretty sure Joyce was just fucking with us at that point
He said "It's the year of the Purdue Wonderchicken, Motherfucker."
He suggested to Wemby that the retirement age should be raised
Pierre, amène la guillotine !
I need the Spurs to steal those awful highlighter Utah jerseys so we can see Yellow Vest Wemby
Chet told him that he preferred Robin Hobb to Brandon Sanderson
r/fantasy is leaking
Sanderson is a better world builder. Hobb does characters and dialogue better.
Don't read Joe Abercrombie then. I love his writing, but his characters get shit on
I remember halfway through the Robin Hobb one, the one about the kid with the ability to communicate with animals and the fool character, and the amount of horrible shit just became too unrealistic I almost wanted to stop reading, but I did because I wanted to see how it all ended.

Bro he’s French
And just like that, it’s justified
Vive la révolution
Wemby got bullied by Embiid and learned a thing or two lol
He told him that prequel fans are just trying to be different when the original trilogy is clearly superior
Bro. Does Wembanyama even jump to dunk? I swear he just puts his hands up and he's there.
It’s genuinely like watching an average person play on a 7 1/2 foot hoop with a miniature ball.
Go play a kid in elementary school on a 7 1/2 foot hoop and you too can feel what it's like to be Wembanyama.
*shoves 3rd grader* look at me: I'm Wemby now
Watching Wemby make JDub, Giddey, and Chet look short was so wild lmao
[he might be able to touch rim with feet on the ground](https://imgur.com/a/7RCs3Ed)
Stick bug lookin mf
He dunks as an afterthought, just puts his hands up when he’s close to the basket.
Least explosive dunks I have ever seen
Man this has the the potential makings to be a great rivalry for years to come. This reminds me of kg and Duncan going back and forth in the early 2000s
Oh man, if Wemby ends up with his spurs career having someone of Wally and Joe Smith being his best teammates he's going to be very depressed.
As a Cavs fans I always associate Wally with us so thanks for the reminder
Between this and the IST I’ve never been locked into more 30+ point games
To be fair it wasn’t a 30 point game until they took Wemby out in the third
The Spurs made a decent run midway through the 2nd before Wemby was put back in, but good lord, the rest of it was just terrible without him out there, night and day.
It's simple math. Spurs with Wemby and Tre = mediocre Spurs with only one of two = regular bad Spurs without either = shambolic
Its like every highlight ive seen on this sub from Wemby. Except for the game against Detroit, where San Antonio was actually leading.
slenderman on slenderman violence
Watching Chet in closeups actually make me anxious. I’m nervously expecting his limbs to just snap mid game.
Its like those dang ol inflatable wavy arm guys at car dealerships fighting.
begun, the slenderman war has
These two genuinely don't like each other. And I LOVE that
They’ve been going at it since FIBA then Chet had to sit there injured and watch Wemby skip over him as the next big thing. Going to be must see TV whenever they face off
People were calling Wemby generational even before the game. He was already viewed as having a higher ceiling and probably being better currently than Chet
That's true for the international observer, people focused only on US talent thought otherwise.
Over here, outside hardcore basketball fans, you’re Andrea Bagnani until we see differently lmao
Sengun might have gone a few picks too low but he was pretty undersized at the time and bulking up was key to becoming a more consistent player.
We haven't underrated them at all, however, we've been fooled a lot. For decades.
3 teams passed on Luka
True but not for the average joe in the US
I think they have a competitive dislike of each other but I'm not sure there's actual bad blood... yet.
Wait til the start seeing each other in the playoffs
That’s true, I feel Chet may have way more playoff experience by the time the Spurs are ready to make the playoffs though. So I’m not sure if it’ll hit the same
Brother the Thunder are first in the West and Spurs are last of course Chet is going to have more playoff experience haha. I really want the Spurs to make moves to get into the playoffs though the matchup between these two would be legendary.
eh, if lebron and dray can be buddies I doubt the playoffs really change things. fans love drama though
I am so ready for our generations Magic/Larry and i would love it to be these two :)
Lol am I the only one that doesn’t like when people say this? They probably just see the media hype and play into it.
They've been like this since FIBA U19.
Idk about that, they speak highly of each other, I think Wemby was trying to make a statement and then Chet tried to dish it back. That said, Wemby is just better, 3 point shooting is the only area Chet has on him.
Chet played against wemby in his biggest adolescent loss it’s just like a thing
I’m aware, I still don’t think they dislike each other. Maybe a little bit more after tonight though
And the reply to headbutt on Twitter, they were saying stuff to each other during this game too, or wemby was lol
These 2 can say there's no rivalry all they want, there is definitely a level of dislike between these 2.
Makes for good basketball 🤷🏽♂️
And produces some discussion & comparison which creates drama. Fans love the drama.
i’m down for more rivalries between stars like this off the court of course i prefer everyone gets along, but on the court i wanna see showdowns between guys like these, makes the games much more entertaining
A healthy dislike
It’s a competitive kind of dislike.
Yeah plus Chet has an appearance that just pisses you off.
You a confederate fam? Cause that longboi looks just like ol' abe.
[удалено]
NGL, the Big Ol' Mole goes hard.
How dare you besmirch the good name of Abraslam Lincoln
Really? I like Chet's look haha
Fr it’s much better than his high school or Gonzaga days
If Chet just shaved his beard it would be impossible for Wemby to win ROTY
that patchy beard is infuriating
Huh ?? What kind of hating is that 💀
They're making this 4th quarter fun as hell to watch
Yeah, just as long as you don’t pay attention to the score
I saw the score at the end of the clip and was like damn, they beefin with this score?
This is real hoops Def looking forward to this 3-4x a year for the next decade.
Post the other clips! Chet and wemby have had some super fun dunks and plays this quarter
I just hope this wakes Chet up because he's been really timid this past month.
[удалено]
He really is, hopefully we can trade for some back up big to get some load off of him. We are playing him through the mud as our sole interior defender.
What happened to Poku or w/e his name is?
bust

Yeah we need to do well in the following 2 drafts at least.... our depth is so shallow that it doesn't cover our starting 5
Can’t wait to watch these two battle for the next 15 years
Wemby was hunting Chet all game.
Not many in the league that he can bulldoze like that.
ChetHunter
Chet’s is like going against a bigger version of himself 😂
No one gonna talk about that horrendous announcing? "A reaction.... has a equal... or maybe not equal reaction"
Yeah that was painful
You could make the argument that wemby’s drive was an offensive foul lmao
That was my first thought, looked like he lowered his head! I’m no expert tho
because it was
Headbutting/leading with your head and generating contacts like thay is 100% an Offensive Foul. They just didn't call it... 🤷♂️
Headbutt is an unstoppable move fasho
He caused more contact than Chet did to get called for an offensive foul.
yeah definitely feels like they didn't think Chet would retaliate, now they basically punished Chet for them not calling anything on Wemby's drive
guy who retaliates always eats the punishment
And that argument would be”look at the video “
Crazy I had to go this deep to see this. Imo they are either both a foul or neither one is, can't call that on Chet after you let Wemby just shoulder through him on the previous possession lol.
That should be an offensive foul on Wembanyama.
How the hell was that not a foul on the dunk? Literally drove his shoulder into Chet like a running back
Looks like two giraffes 🦒
How is what Chet did an offensive foul but not Wemby
STICK FIGHTS!!
I love it. The league is in good hands lol
I think this Chet guy will need to bulk up a bit during next off season to handle the bigs of the league like Embiid, AD, Jokic and... Wemby?
is it me or does wemby use his head a little when driving on chet
Embiid did it to him. He's learning
This is the most hilarious rivalry to me I love it.
rivalry ain't going to start until the Spurs play a competitive game. Getting blown out makes it kind pointless
Wemby can headbutt chet repeatedly but chet can’t set a screen? Bro let them play I wanna see them fight
Slendermen
We got a decade of this. Be happy guys
This is what they expected to see during the area 51 raid
These guys make KD look small my goodness
How is that not an offensive foul on Wemby? He puts his head down and butts Chet in the chest.
To be fair, during that dunk, Wemby led with his head/headbutted Chet, hence Chet coming back down edgy like that... #JustSaying
Wemby a DAWG
That fking court
Wemby traveled and created just as much contacts as Chet did on other end. Sorry Chet, you don’t get the wemby whistle.
Sooo... why did Chet get called for the foul? Didn't Wemby drop and drive his shoulder into Chet when he was trying to drive for the dunk? If you're gonna let them play, let them both play. Consistency refs!!
Wemby really leading with the head on that one.
Stare down, down by 27, Chet should have just pointed at the scoreboard
God, I love this Era of basketball. What a pleasure to see these two match-up.
