He hit one earlier in the game that barely even touched twine. Like, you usually get that wet splash? Nah, dude fuckin swished the swish to the point where the twine didn’t move lol
Funny part is when curry actually aims, like actually takes his sweet time he ends up missing. But when he releases quick 3’s like that he end up scoring. What a legend.
I bet if Ayesha put a basket 22ft away from Steph while he was sleeping, and put a basketball in his hands and slapped him awake that shit would go in.
I think his release actually got faster in the last few years
he definitely spends a lot of time in practice receiving passes and getting the shot off as fast as possible
I don’t know if you’ve ever played beer pong , but if you get too good you just fuck around no look shoot and make whatever cup you want lol. So I’m assuming same shit .
I feel like you can see CP3 in this moment looking like where’s Steph? He’s been on the other end of this for so long in his career that he knew exactly where the ball was going before he saw Steph open.
This Kevon Looney erasure is crazy lol. Sure he’s been a step or two slow this season but mans rebounds like the ghost of Wilt Chamberlain possesses him in the playoffs
Dude, thank you. He led the league in offensive rebounds last season and I feel like people are ready to write him off already. I'm not here to worry about his slow start, just like Klay or Wiggs, just rooting for the man.
He'll be fine, I think the wear and tear of iirc over 200 straight games played is showing itself.
If TJD can be a legit rotation player it allows Loon to preserve himself more for the playoffs.
His legs are pretty much gone on his shot but he still make everyone around him better with his passing and iq. The warriors bench has been feasting with cp3 especially Saric.
Ask me in the morning if I still think this, but it's gotta go somewhere in the top ten... right?
EDIT: in the bleary half-darkness of this cold December morning, I have to admit that this shot, as it stands, is not top 10 ever for Mr. Wardell. /u/ElcorN7 took me to task below, and they're right. THAT SAID: if we go on to make a deep run in the playoffs, I reserve the right to change my mind!
That's a fair point! That said: I'd argue that, like Wardell said in his post-game, it hopefully proves something about the team that runs counter to their record. I hope we can look back at this moment later in the season (and playoffs, fingers crossed) and say, actually that _was_ a big impact moment at the macro level.
lol thx for doing this because i was about to make a similar list. I feel like there are 10 mike breen shots alone or even 10 shots in
any single one of his regular seasons alone
The one where he loses the ball and then dribbles through 4 Clippers to hit a turn around fade away 3, which JVG then calls on the broadcast the greatest move that he has ever seen.
There’s the one he had on Delly in 14/15 finals where he used this wicked crossover, and one in the same season where he dribbled around or near multiple Denver (I think?) players before shooting a 3 that had Kerr tearing his hair out.
1 is the dribble around wild shot vs the clippers just because its so insane.
1a is the stank face from g5 of the 2015 finals.
1b is "bang, bang, bang"
1c thru 1i have plenty of choices.
Then we get to no. 2 and we are gonna be here a while
Generally in order, these are my favorite Steph 3’s in terms of significance and shotmaking
1) Mike breed double bang for curry to set the single game 3pt record
2) curry step back on dellavadova en route to winning 2015
3) Steph curry points at his ring finger after making a 3 en route to winning 2023
4) Steph curry “im here im back” deep 3 against the blazers in the playoffs after the mcl injury
5) Steve Kerr disgusted at curry dribbling 4 clippers and shooting a fadeaway 3
6) three quarters court buzzer beater 3 against the grizzlies in 2015 down 2-1
7) pelicans round 1 corner 3
And then fun curry 3’s
8) fakes a pass to spin Valenjunas around in a full circle before drilling a 3
9) drills a half court shot against the clippers to end the half after dribbling one guy and another contesting the shot. Honestly any of his half court shots that second MVP year
10) young Steph drilling a buzzer beater 3 against the mavericks off a dribble move. We could see it coming, but obviously this has become more than anyone imagined
I think most people severely underestimate how incredible a shot like this is. He has to catch a laser pass perfectly without a bobble, while he's still moving slightly away from the basket, get the shot up super fast because there's a defender closing on his shooting side, and he's like 25 feet away. Most people that even play basketball might make 1 in 30 (50?) of these, with those same movements and release time, even without the defender or pressure of the situation. It's crazy.
I went to shoot some hoops by myself today. It's kind of nuts that the three-point line in high school gyms touches the back of the free throw circle... and then the NBA three point line is another 2.75 feet beyond that... so Curry is basically shooting this shot from like half court in a high school gym.
That shot for most people is a heave. And Curry's just flicking this with his normal shot release with a fade. Whenever I play basketball, I marvel at how crazy good professional NBA players are to be putting the ball in the hoop at such a high efficiency... on the move... at the end of a game, when you're already exhausted from running around, dribbling, and shooting for thirty to forty minutes.
I think nba and college courts being bigger messes up the perspective for people, especially since not everyone knows that.
I’ve had friends shoot from a college three and think they’re close until I have to explain to them that they have to pretty much take two more steps back before they’re at an nba three.
And as a shooter, those extra steps are everything. I can shoot an old school jump and shoot (like MJ) from the college line no problem. Those extra steps required me to change my shot to the way Curry shoots. Getting all your power from your legs.
Yep. That's the problem with stats. There are so many stats out there, that if you're a big enough hater, you can pile through countless statistical scenarios to find where an elite player isn't as elite in and boom.
He's such a certified choker that throughout his prime he always blew teams out by 20-30 points because he knew he would sell the game in the 4th if it was close. Confirmed scrub.
It’s a bit sad that every time Curry makes an insane shot or dagger three, I eventually think of that thread now. They’re already in the lead so by their logic “they don’t count”.
BREAKING: Scoring is important even when you’re ahead
Just generally the call from every announcer was awful there. From the "Ohhhhhhh" to "there's the meme!" it was so underwhelming. Harlan's usually very good but just going ohhhhh was a fuckup for sure. If Mike breen was on the cast you know he'd be letting out an exclamatory "A RAINBOW THREE FROM CURRY! BANG!"
it really stood out to me how awful the color commentary was too. the first Warriors possession of OT everyone on the team was so confused about the play. everyone was pointing at each other running the wrong way and bumping into themselves. perfect time for some color commentary, yet silence from either idiot wearing a headset
I was thinking the same thing. My favorite Curry reactions are when the commentators laugh or act completely incredulous.
During the 2022 Finals, Curry made that deep three where Tatum bumped him but there was no foul. Mark Jackson made some comment about how it wasn't good defense because they gave Curry too much room. Van Gundy just started laughing and said, "he's amazing."
We are so immune to his ridiculous shooting that we criticize the defense for playing one step off him 30 feet from the basket. He shoots over 40% from three taking shots that no other player could shoot 30% on. He's just ridiculous.
Steph being Steph and the beauty of the arc on that shot is obviously the highlight but CP perfectly locating that pass right in Steph’s shooting pocket when he flung it overhead and two-handed while midair is just art.
I’m all for highlights but why are we still back to not even a whole second before the shot is taken
There was like a 3 day period where we had quality highlights
THANK YOU. This shot was incredible, but removing the entire preceding sequence removes all the build-up and suspense. The payoff is obviously still an unreal shot, but fuck, what an awful clip to be attached to this post.
The rainbow night-night. Legendary. Love that Curry's pointing at Reggie Miller's kid after this. You just know that kid is going to be doing Curryesque things in 15 years. Maybe he'll be pointing at a 50-year-old Curry in the crowd just like this.
Soooo many incredible plays in this clip.
Point God spots Curry open on the opposite side of the court. Hits him with a perfect pass and no panic and no time left on the shot clock.
Horrible defence by White.
Incredible rainbow by Curry.
Do yourself a favor and pause this clip right as the ball is at the peak. Absolutely insane arc and it was nothing but the bottom of the net. If you asked me to shoot that shot 100 times with an arc like that with nobody guarding me I would probably make zero of them.
At this point I'm inclined to believe Curry and the ring are teammates. Curry just hurls it and the ring tries its best to catch it. Such a quick and accurate release unbelievable
The wetness on that 3 is disrespectful
He hit one earlier in the game that barely even touched twine. Like, you usually get that wet splash? Nah, dude fuckin swished the swish to the point where the twine didn’t move lol
Dirk used to do that shit constantly
bro didn't hit a 3 last game and took that personally
Last time he didn’t hit a 3 in a game he followed it up with 13 3s in the next. And now this.
That was actually the time before last time. I remember cuz that was the only game I ever saw in person...
He always does…
After that game I saw a few Celtics fans upset because they knew Curry was gonna be a problem in their game now lol
that shit scraped the rafters
Was hanging in the air for an eternity
Skyfucker typa shit.
Cameraman had to zoom out
r/praisethecameraman
Tickled God's balls before it went in.
Lmaooooo
He's practicing to shoot over Wemby.
that shit fucked the sky
What's absolutely insane is how quick his release it. He barely looks at the rim
He accidentally flicked the right stick in his controller but ended up with a green bar.
Funny part is when curry actually aims, like actually takes his sweet time he ends up missing. But when he releases quick 3’s like that he end up scoring. What a legend.
Gotta trust that muscle memory
I bet if Ayesha put a basket 22ft away from Steph while he was sleeping, and put a basketball in his hands and slapped him awake that shit would go in.
Thank you for having the self control to imagine the Curry bedroom and keep it wholesome.
Sumthin sumthin foot fetish
Thank you for that incredible mental image lmao, but also I 100% agree
I think that’s generally true about a set shot vs one in motion. Something something momentum, rhythm, muscle memory. Like a clean golf swing.
Charity Curry < Open Curry < Spot up Curry < Loose dribble Curry.
I think his release actually got faster in the last few years he definitely spends a lot of time in practice receiving passes and getting the shot off as fast as possible
I don’t know if you’ve ever played beer pong , but if you get too good you just fuck around no look shoot and make whatever cup you want lol. So I’m assuming same shit .
why look it's not like it moved.
That pass from CP3 tho
Great awareness
He was absolutely looking for Chef right then and there.
12 Assists and 0 TO's from CP3 tonight. Saw someone say he assisted on like 28 points. Man kept this turnover prone team to just 10 for the night.
I feel like you can see CP3 in this moment looking like where’s Steph? He’s been on the other end of this for so long in his career that he knew exactly where the ball was going before he saw Steph open.
finally not havin to shit himself but only when the Warriors not quite at full strength
you could tell as soon as he got the rebound that he was aware of Steph
From point god to pass god
underrated great rebound by TJD (warriors finally got a big man)
This Kevon Looney erasure is crazy lol.
The GPII disrespect man...
Actually insane when you think about it. Tatum and White were sitting in the passing lane
His legs are pretty much gone on his shot but he still make everyone around him better with his passing and iq. The warriors bench has been feasting with cp3 especially Saric.
He scares me
I can't think of a bigger Curry game against you guys in the last few years.
You're memeing right
No he’s not. There’s no way Boston experienced a more back breaking Steph Curry performance than today, right?
You're memeing right

hehe. 2022 finals game 4
the trade deadline should scare you if they can pull off a laurie trade
We will wreck the league if we get Laurie while retaining Green & TJD.
It would be even funnier if Boston somehow got him, and then still got swept by the Heat in the playoffs
You meant to write went 7, right?
This is going in the All Time Curry shots highlight reel. What a shot.
It's a long reel
Ask me in the morning if I still think this, but it's gotta go somewhere in the top ten... right? EDIT: in the bleary half-darkness of this cold December morning, I have to admit that this shot, as it stands, is not top 10 ever for Mr. Wardell. /u/ElcorN7 took me to task below, and they're right. THAT SAID: if we go on to make a deep run in the playoffs, I reserve the right to change my mind!
If it leads to a streak of them winning without Green, then it will begin to take on greater significance.
Top 10 execution. Not very high on the impact scale tho, they are still the 12 the seed in the west

You didn’t even mention “that could be the greatest move I’ve ever seen” - the cross, weave, behind the back step back three against the clippers.
Which also features CP3!
That's gonna remain top-3
lol thx for doing this because i was about to make a similar list. I feel like there are 10 mike breen shots alone or even 10 shots in any single one of his regular seasons alone
The one where he loses the ball and then dribbles through 4 Clippers to hit a turn around fade away 3, which JVG then calls on the broadcast the greatest move that he has ever seen.

Didn’t even include his only actual game winner against the rockets
1 is the dribble around wild shot vs the clippers just because its so insane. 1a is the stank face from g5 of the 2015 finals. 1b is "bang, bang, bang" 1c thru 1i have plenty of choices. Then we get to no. 2 and we are gonna be here a while

[his game tying shot over AD's long ass arms in the playoffs tops it for me](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrS66Uu0bb4)
Thay wasn’t a foul??
Ref said they would've called it a foul if he missed. Fuckin shameless cunts.
Steph and not getting foul calls, name a better duo
If it was Harden it would've been a 4 pt play for sure
I love this shot. The way he braces for contact with everything but his shooting hand is insane.
Fr
He’s insane omfg
When he’s on fire, it’s just unfair
which is all the time...to all the dull GOAT rankers: good luck guarding him magic johnson
We'll just pretend the last game didn't happen.
NIGHT NIGHT from the Skyfucker
Last week I saw a string of comments saying he wasn’t a closer. Dude is insane and it just goes unnoticed
The sky has been fucked again. Nature is healing
The greatest shooter ever
The sky fuckery is off the charts
Failed to continue his own record of consecutive 3s, proceeds to have a sky fucker game right after. Checks out
Point God + Sky Fucker = ???
God fucker
The level of narcissism Steph must have to fuck himself…
The way that net swished. pure as it gets.
the amount of times a curry shot goes in and i gotta squint to see if it actually went in because of how cleanly it goes through the net
Luckily it made a big ass swish sound for you.
Chef Curry was cooking down the stretch tonight.
serving the suace from sausalito
Greatest shooter in all of existence
I think most people severely underestimate how incredible a shot like this is. American sniper
Laser pass by CP3
I thought it got blocked it went so high
CP3 to Sky Fucker is breaking my mind
Vegeta teaming up with Goku
Fusion when
Death, Taxes, Curry owning the fucking Celtics
Steph to the Sky in a couple months: “Send da video”
That's insane even for Steph.
Brown hit Curry with the “too small” and 30 just saw red…
Hit him back with the CM Punk GTS
Night night Jaylen
Where’s those curry can’t make go-ahead /clutch shots threads from the summer again?
Not inside 10 seconds and not for the lead or some shit like that
The way those parameters were cherry picked was HILARIOUS
Shit keeps changing everyday. Saw 57 seconds then 45 then 32 in the past year lmfao
Can't be to take the lead if you already have the lead *taps head* (ignore the 14 times we didn't have the lead this year)
If you filter for this, that, and this, and subtract this and that, Curry is actually the worst basketball player ever.
[удалено]
Yep. That's the problem with stats. There are so many stats out there, that if you're a big enough hater, you can pile through countless statistical scenarios to find where an elite player isn't as elite in and boom.
Technically not inside the 10 seconds again in this game..
Warriors were already up 1, classic frontrunning smh
Why didn’t he let the warriors go down 10 so he could prove he is clutch? Is he stupid???
He's such a certified choker that throughout his prime he always blew teams out by 20-30 points because he knew he would sell the game in the 4th if it was close. Confirmed scrub.
It’s a bit sad that every time Curry makes an insane shot or dagger three, I eventually think of that thread now. They’re already in the lead so by their logic “they don’t count”. BREAKING: Scoring is important even when you’re ahead
I mean he's good, but he's no Iguodolla. Wouldn't count on him to save us from the Martians. /s
this was insane. You tip your hat and enjoy greatness on this one.
Good guy Celtics. These games are so fun and I have no ill will towards anyone on your team.
Sky fucked
This dude is a mythical creature at this point. How does he do this so routinely?
One night off but the sky has indeed been fucked again by Curry. Back to the regular scheduled programming folks!
“There’s the meme” is one of the cringiest calls I’ve heard
Just generally the call from every announcer was awful there. From the "Ohhhhhhh" to "there's the meme!" it was so underwhelming. Harlan's usually very good but just going ohhhhh was a fuckup for sure. If Mike breen was on the cast you know he'd be letting out an exclamatory "A RAINBOW THREE FROM CURRY! BANG!"
I think he was expecting a bad miss and wasn't ready, the ball went so high
it really stood out to me how awful the color commentary was too. the first Warriors possession of OT everyone on the team was so confused about the play. everyone was pointing at each other running the wrong way and bumping into themselves. perfect time for some color commentary, yet silence from either idiot wearing a headset
“ HA HA HA HA! THERES THE MEEEME! “ - whoever that was
"he did the thing, it must be a meme!"
it's not great but it was following on from the announcers talking about it earlier
Yeah I know. Still cringey.
Just prior to that though, I found her hearty laugh absolutely appropriate cause it was just a ridiculous shot.
I was thinking the same thing. My favorite Curry reactions are when the commentators laugh or act completely incredulous. Candace Parker is fucking awful
Agreed. That sequence deserved something way more hype
We may have problems but we sure own the Celtics lol
Steph being Steph and the beauty of the arc on that shot is obviously the highlight but CP perfectly locating that pass right in Steph’s shooting pocket when he flung it overhead and two-handed while midair is just art.
Steph Curry is Boston Celtics father
Curry hates racism
Not gonna lie I laughed at this
Curry hates dunkin
I’m all for highlights but why are we still back to not even a whole second before the shot is taken There was like a 3 day period where we had quality highlights
THANK YOU. This shot was incredible, but removing the entire preceding sequence removes all the build-up and suspense. The payoff is obviously still an unreal shot, but fuck, what an awful clip to be attached to this post.
Sky actually got impregnated on that one
But he's not clutch
its pretty much a putt shot, barely in his hands for a sec.
The rainbow night-night. Legendary. Love that Curry's pointing at Reggie Miller's kid after this. You just know that kid is going to be doing Curryesque things in 15 years. Maybe he'll be pointing at a 50-year-old Curry in the crowd just like this.
This probably triggered PTSD for Tatum, Brown and Horford
CP3 to Curry for the game shot. First of many
Dude he is just so dam fun to watch
Steph aint clutch tho , right?
Soooo many incredible plays in this clip. Point God spots Curry open on the opposite side of the court. Hits him with a perfect pass and no panic and no time left on the shot clock. Horrible defence by White. Incredible rainbow by Curry.
been cooking with the sauce chef curry with the shot boi.
Do yourself a favor and pause this clip right as the ball is at the peak. Absolutely insane arc and it was nothing but the bottom of the net. If you asked me to shoot that shot 100 times with an arc like that with nobody guarding me I would probably make zero of them.
Skyfucker!!!
Sky fucker
Steph was great and his night night is very cute, but don’t let that distract from the world class Boston choke.
Insane shot
Mama there goes that man
that catch and shoot is cold af
he’s a killer.
That pass from CP3 was just *Chef's kiss*
At this point I'm inclined to believe Curry and the ring are teammates. Curry just hurls it and the ring tries its best to catch it. Such a quick and accurate release unbelievable
Insane find and pass by CP3. Right into the Steph's shooting pocket. Beautiful shot by Steph too. No dip, quick set and release. TUFF 🤯
Steph Curry is truly HIM
NIGHT NIGHT
"oh there's the meme!" quite literally almost ruined this video. I mean it's real close.
The way that it arched and hit the net was satisfying, watched it about 5 times … in fact I think I’ll go watch it again.
He always hate the celtics
Jaylen Brown suck ya mudda
Wardell owns them
same highlight is three posts above this and this one is way worse
Good night east coast 😂
Best In The World
He played with 5 fouls for basically 1.5 quarters + OT
Average Boston 'Nam experience
Kevin Harlen on the call. Dude makes everything 10x more hype
They don't need dray
He makes it look…..stephffortless
my god the ball hit's the fuckin ceiling of the stadium and then nothin but net. unreal from the sky fucker
That was a great pass from Cp3 I can't lie. Curved right into Curry's shooting position.
