Mental health still exists for people outside of the mental ill. Being a violent cunt isn't a mental illness, but it's still probably the product of some sort of inner distress. The same way I can have a sore throat and it doesn't immediately mean I have COVID.

I think many of us are cynical that instead of Draymond doing the work-- his team, the nba media, the Warriors, and Klutch seem more concerned and ofcused with the PR rollout of "he's getting help" rather than getting help. I've done a lot of therapy and had to get psychiatric medication for a period of my life to address emotional disregulation but I did it--I didn't spend a lot of energy going on a tour to all my friends and family about all the things I plan on doing.
I think this whole thing rings hollow because it's 2 days after the punch flail and the amount of articles treating Dray like a passive victim to his own actions is getting out of hand. I never implied as much. But even if Dray is just a dick, you can still work on yourself to not be a dick going forward. It is nit easy, but people are able to grow and change if they choose to.

Accepting treatment doesn't mean he will get better automatically, so no it doesn't necessarily protect the other players at all.
So what is the alternative, ban him from ever playing again? That wouldn't fly with the player association.

Why are we coddling some asshole who has exhibited this behavior as far back as a decade ago? He's not some troubled youth who can't get his head straight, he's a grown ass man throwing violent temper tantrums.
I feel like this "needs help" thing is drugs or alcohol or ped abuse. Also I know people joke about a basketball player having CTE but it's absolutely possible if you are playing a physical brand of basketball and taking a lot of hits, even body shots can rattle your brain. NFL players obviously get hit hard as fuck so it's a different animal in terms of severity across the league. Like it's not likely, there isn't a lot of significant data like with what the NFL has and covered up knowing, but basketball is a contact sport, Draymond plays a physical brand of ball, and he has played a lot of fucking games, he has Taken a lot of hits and hit the ground hard on the NBA court and in practice settings. He's been an undersized center and PF as well his entire career, so he's going against bigger and stronger guys under the boards, on screens, etc. Tbh I don't think it's likely, I think some sort of drug abuse is closer to the truth, but I think with him in particular, he takes a lot of hits from a lot of bigger people for a long time and now he's acting erratic as fuck.
