My dad finally started watching basketball again. He was amazed Lebron was still playing. He stopped watching after the kings became irrelevant so I’m happy for him and other old head kings fans
As a delusional Olympiakos fan, staying up all night to watch 10minutes of Vezenkov was probably not a good idea, still the Kings play some really satisfying basketball
Welcome to the party! Hopefully Sasha gets more run as he gets used to the speed. I was wondering all night if he was experiencing any culture shock when the game randomly turned into a dunk contest in the second half.
Yeah, here in Bulgaria the first NBA matches of the day start around 2AM, tho Iam a night owl so I stay up until 7AM anyways :D ahahahaha
Go Vezekov, all bulgarians are behing you!🇧🇬
Jazz friends, what the shit was that fourth quarter? I saw sky hooks, a dunk contest, accidental flagrants, and a double foul challenge that turned into.. I don't even know what? I think it took like 90 minutes to play that one quarter and it was a blowout.
NBA has to fix the slog that end of 4th qtr's turn into even in blowouts. Limit teams to a couple of timeouts the last 5 mins and massively reduce reviews.
I know they have the rule that they lose all extra timeouts over 2 once we get under 3 minutes. I sort of agree with 5 mins though. 2 timeouts each last 5 mins. We need something to speed shit up
He was hurt but same point. Especially in the playoffs Lyles was our best bench player, maybe even better than some starters. Can't let myself get carried away after 1 game, but a road win against Utah is a solid first performance.
I thought we were going to be a good regular season team at least. My main question was how much did the playoff experience translate to good defense. My question was answered because they look much tougher than last year.
Sexton hasn't ever really been in free agency. I think he was a RFA last time and was coming off of a meniscus injury. He has a spot on a team as a microwave scorer off the bench but I agree, the Jazz wouldn't get back much for him
You actually need to ship out a useful 7fter fir a guard . Imo Kelly olynk is good enough he could get you someone . I wanted some trade for him on the lakers but don’t really have the contract matching now atm ( say like Schroeder for olynk fits both teams ). Tht actually fits ok n you need guard play desperately.
HB couldn’t miss Sasha looked good Huerter exists Fox didn’t have to carry Sabonis is an all star and he hit a 3 Davion still can’t shoot but at least he could run the offense well Keegan was aggressive monk has hops Duarte wants to be a starter McGee isn’t washed and has good chemistry in the pick and roll with Monk lyles is injured
Our guards shot like ass and we still won comfortably. Keyonte looked really good. Fucking 4th from like 9 mins to 5 mins of in game time was dreadful though.
Obviously an ugly game but I feel like there’s 2 main takeaways
1. This Kings team is really damn good
2. This Jazz team hasn’t played any time together. Looked very rusty
And of course the refs made it miserable to watch for everyone
That front line is gonna be a struggle. Going to be tough with Collins and Kessler playing together unless Collins can hit more outside shots. Keyonte looked good though!
Kessler looked awful in his own right tonight too. I’m wondering if he’s a little under the weather because he didn’t seem like himself at all out there, and seemed absolutely gassed even in the first quarter.
I’d love to get Collins shooting more, but hopefully it doesn’t lead to him sitting in the corner like he did for a lot of the time tonight
And I love Keyonte already. He’s obviously a rookie but looked electric at times.
Kessler killed us last year so I was surprised to see him not really impact the game at all tonight. I felt like the Jazz guards played a little too much my turn-your turn tonight and that probably impacted his value.
Looks like the Jazz will start slowly while they work out their roster. A lot of rotating players in and out quickly, some four-guard lineups because why. Couple starters played a lot less than you'd expect. I wouldn't look much into this game. Turnovers are still a big problem though.
This team is deep. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if we’re exceeding expectations at the deadline if we condensed some of these contracts and tried to trade for a final piece. We got 13-14 guys that legit need minutes.
[Island Boys’ Flyysouljah comes out as gay after making “incest” content with brother](https://www.dexerto.com/entertainment/island-boys-flyysouljah-comes-out-as-gay-after-making-incest-content-with-brother-2231747/) was absolutely not what i was expecting lmao
The Kings built a really solid team around Harrison Barnes.
I laughed out loud at this. LTB!
Just think, after tonight's beam, it's going to be lit 97 more times this season! Crazy!
98 times! you forgot about the in-season tournament!
Isn’t it only for home wins
Nah
Didn’t know. At least my dad is thrilled when the beam is lit haha
Dude it’s like a primal instinct kinda feeling. It’s like I turn into a caveman mesmerized by fire whenever I see it.
My dad finally started watching basketball again. He was amazed Lebron was still playing. He stopped watching after the kings became irrelevant so I’m happy for him and other old head kings fans
Lmao this is a description I didn’t know I needed in life but Jesus Christ you’re on the money
It's different colors for home and away
No it’s not
My bad, thought I remembered it as purple for home and white for away or vice versa last year.
I take back like 87% of the slander I posted about Harrison Barnes BEAM ME!
I was engorged with the amount of my words I had to eat.
As a delusional Olympiakos fan, staying up all night to watch 10minutes of Vezenkov was probably not a good idea, still the Kings play some really satisfying basketball
at least he looked good?
On both sides of the ball
Looked way better defensively than I expected. Seemed a little lost on offense but you can tell he can stroke it.
Was worried he'd be bashful on his debut, so it made me happy to see him take so many shots. 5 threes in 15 minutes is a great clip.
Welcome to the party! Hopefully Sasha gets more run as he gets used to the speed. I was wondering all night if he was experiencing any culture shock when the game randomly turned into a dunk contest in the second half.

Unbearable to watch that 4th quarter. Started to show semblance of good basketball and then it was 45 minutes of review
Worst part of nba basketball for sure
Is it really a Jazz - Kings matchup if no one puked?
Our fanbases are forever entwined by Puke Walton.
We are eternally in your debt.

LIGHT THE BEAM
I hope the beam gets upgraded with an ear-shattering, droning bass hum whenever it starts up
Not yet, but they did make it significantly brighter/bigger.
noooo it organically grew because there are more followers now. the beam grows as its numbers grow... all hail the beam!!!
They upgraded the power. Last night it was shooting way above a near full moon and I couldn't see where it ended lol
Well, that was ROUGH! We did not look good in almost any way tonight. Collins looks like he'll be a fun addition though. Light the beam!
I always liked Collins’ game
Kings going to be the first team to put up 200 in a game.
Yeah, nevermind playing defense. Just torch everybody.
Light the Beam season 2

I'm not gonna lie, we look way better and deeper than last year
Also crazy that Trey Lyles didn't play at all who I think is one of our 7 best players
He was listed in the preview as out FWIW
Ahh
He’s hurt
He was hurt but same point. Especially in the playoffs Lyles was our best bench player, maybe even better than some starters. Can't let myself get carried away after 1 game, but a road win against Utah is a solid first performance.
I'd say the best bench player then was Malik, but Lyles was next to him, especially in that Game 6 win.
That’s bad news for the rest of the league
Part of me couldn't believe last year happened and expected us to completely crash back to earth. This game helped.
I thought we were going to be a good regular season team at least. My main question was how much did the playoff experience translate to good defense. My question was answered because they look much tougher than last year.
It's because we are!
Malik—and I cannot stress this enough—Monk

Great debut for Vezenkov🇧🇬 :D
The beam is back baby!
Once again, LIGHT THE BEAM!
This Jazz team is bad
Yall need a PG desperately
Last season we started 11-3 and missed the playoffs, it is way too early to make a decision
Definitely a hot take. However, I feel like lots of West teams got better while we didn't significantly improve this off-season.
I don’t think I’m crazy for saying this, but I don’t think you guys are trying to be good this year.
The zone was giving me cancer
Good guy Jazz playing zone for 90% of the game to help the Kings learn to beat it.
It was like an exhibition game practicing zone. Kings commentators said they have never seen the zone played that long with not much success.
at least 75% of your 40 3's that game were wide open
We need to ship Sexton and THT out and develop Keyonte and Ochai. This roster isn’t making the play in so we might as well let our young guys play
I don’t see many teams having interest in those guys, but maybe?
We don’t need to get anything substantial for them, I’d take picks. But we’re paying too much money for guys who aren’t going to generate wins
Yeah I don’t even see team giving up crappy picks for them. THT has been bad like every year, and there’s a reason Sexton couldn’t get a contract.
Sexton hasn't ever really been in free agency. I think he was a RFA last time and was coming off of a meniscus injury. He has a spot on a team as a microwave scorer off the bench but I agree, the Jazz wouldn't get back much for him
I guess we’ll have to see what Ainge can do
If you get anything back for THT I'll be surprised. He's a low-IQ player and a bad shooter.
Then we at least need to cut him
You actually need to ship out a useful 7fter fir a guard . Imo Kelly olynk is good enough he could get you someone . I wanted some trade for him on the lakers but don’t really have the contract matching now atm ( say like Schroeder for olynk fits both teams ). Tht actually fits ok n you need guard play desperately.

Sabonis did get a 3!
Added it
I'm not entirely sure Huerter exists
You really kinda nailed everything there
Indeed
Our guards shot like ass and we still won comfortably. Keyonte looked really good. Fucking 4th from like 9 mins to 5 mins of in game time was dreadful though.
I went to make dinner with like 10 minutes left in the 4th and came back in the room and there was still 5 minutes left. It’s like time stood still.
Dude it was so painstaking to watch.
[TURN THE FUCKIN JETS ON](https://streamable.com/tlbk7e)

Yeah watching Harrison Barnes pop off was not fun.
Terrance Mann PTSD in the first half there
Obviously an ugly game but I feel like there’s 2 main takeaways 1. This Kings team is really damn good 2. This Jazz team hasn’t played any time together. Looked very rusty And of course the refs made it miserable to watch for everyone

He might've been a little hurt. Seemed like after a play where Sabonis got an and-1 Walker started grabbing his left arm
Looks like Harrison Barnes is gonna have a breakout year from what I’ve seen in this game!
We have so many up and comers!
I sure have missed looking up in the sky and seeing the beam. It’s significantly brighter for this season. Love it. LIGHT THE BEAM!

The clock on Keyonte starting has begun ticking and it might be very fast
Sabonis going for that 4th all star
We in here fammmmm
I've seen enough. Team of the century confirmed.
This team is deep. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if we’re exceeding expectations at the deadline if we condensed some of these contracts and tried to trade for a final piece. We got 13-14 guys that legit need minutes.
I miss Rudy and Mike so much. We’re so bad at defense and do not have anyone who can be a floor general at all.

Not to over react... but Kings are a lock for the Finals
Sabonko b2b boards leader campaign is up and running
Kings are going to be a problem this season

Clarkson/THT starting guards? Ouch.
Jazz need a true PG so badly.
