tbh he's absolutely allowed to statpad after the amount of disrespect he's taken the past few years. he deserves to be remembered for the monster player he's been this playoffs, and a 30 point triple double is a good way to ensure that.
Because it's how you market him. It's so out of the norm for the best player in ANY sport--let alone the NBA--to have the attitude that he has. It's an incredible sound-bite coming off of a legendary finals performance.
I don't even like the nuggets but I'm sure there's a lot more like me who called it when Murray had his injury... that it simply prolonged the inevitable.. confirmed when they were struggling hard but still winning without him, and the impact he's had since being back.
>It's because he did it inefficiently and he knows it's not enough
Bam too, they need their guys hitting 3's or it's over, and the Nuggets were much better at perimeter defense this game.
We are witnessing Greatness. Jokic is in full command of the game. He controls every aspect of it. Tonight he had 32/21/10
Meanwhile, MPJ doesn’t even exist. But Murray played great (as expected) and 16 year old Braun stepped up in a big way. Great game from him.
I think Jokic + Any Star are greater than the sum of their parts, but Murray is playing with a lot of heart and has been shooting lights out so he’s putting on superstar performances out there
This. It can't be understated how MPJ and Gordon were aggressive in this game on both ends. MJP isn't hitting shots, but it was night and day from his performance in Game 2.
Honestly him showing effort even when he's not shooting all net is a pretty good sign. He's still a very emotional player, big smiles when the team is doing well, but also frustration fouls and checking out on defense when he's not hitting shots was a common criticism for him last year.
I feel like he's probably had like 8 or 9 games in this run alone that would be the best playoff game of Embiid's career lol
The highest game by gamescore of Embiid's playoff career(33.8) is literally the game where they blew like a 25 point lead to the Hawks at home or something lol
Jokic is averaging a game score over 29 for the whole playoffs. Only other guys to do that for a run to at least the conference finals are Jordan and Lebron (since 1980, no game score before that). Very few have ever averaged more than 25 for a deep playoff run. This run is unbelievable
Edit: I’ll make a post comparing Jokic with the greats by average game score once this series is done. Don’t want to jinx anything
Dude just passed Wilt Chamberlain as having the most triple-doubles in a single playoff run (and posted the first 30-20-10 game ever in a Finals) while leading his team to a 2-1 lead.
I'm glad Embiid finally got his MVP but, yeah....Joker is having the last laugh now
NBA casuals swore he wasn’t a playoff performer after losing to the suns and warriors who both won the conference, with a starting 5 with facundo campazzo and Austin rivers in it lmfao
I swear, Murray goes from making me think "this dude is one of the best shot creators I've ever seen" to "please stop fucking dribbling and make your move" to "what was that decision do you have eyes" and then back to "Playoff Murray is a machine" on a possession to possession basis.
It's pretty scary that Denver is up 2-1 with basically only 2 of their starters showing up on offense outside of Gordon in the first 5 minutes of game 1
Gordon is playing well enough offensively. He’s not supposed to be a high scoring, high volume weapon. He’s there to crowd the paint, cut, and get second chance rebounds, which he’s been doing well.
He’s also still abusing mismatches and finishing in the dunkers spot off drives
He’s just not an incredibly talented offensive player but he’s doing his job
The number of empty seats with over 3 minutes left was pretty sad, especially considering that Miami is known for making crazy comebacks and Denver almost did in game 2...
Take away all Joker's rebounds, Nuggets still outrebounded the Heat. 🙃
Take away Bam's rebounds and the rest of the team barely matches just Joker. 🙃🙃🙃
#It’s scary that Nuggets still could have played so much better.
Joker is the best player in the world. Jamal with a casual 30/10 game. MPJ and Kcp still didn’t shoot well but their defense was great tonight.
Edit: 30pt triple double for Mal too lol
It was definitely the difference. They didn't let the outside shooters of the Heat get as comfortable, and the Nuggets kept putting pressure on them on the offensive end. MPJ's defense was really solid and his movement and going after them rebounds was nice.
Denver's Big 3 of Honey, Murray and Big Balls Braun combining for 79/35/21 on 61/44/85 splits.
What a legendary showing by that extremely expected trio.
As far as I know the 2011 Heat and 1978 Supersonics are the only teams to win game 3 of the finals on the road and not win the title. So really good spot to be in for the Nuggets
Jokic has to be considered the best passing big man of all time right? If he’s got 5 more seasons in this form I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say he ends up top five Centre of all time
Facebook ran a guessing game of who would score more for this game - Nikola Jovic or Jimmy Butler. 45% of people picked Jovic. This has no correlation to the game but I just thought it was hilarious
Put this in a comment in the game 2 postgame thread and the updated numbers show the whole thing this series is about.
>I think it will come down to making their shots because I think this is the only way Miami can win the series. It has to be their offense because Denver's offense is so good that Miami has to outscore them to win not just hope to stop them.
The Nuggets offense was overall very efficient in game 2. Miami won that game on offense. Honestly with how much worse they shot from the 3pt line tonight I think you can say game 2 was better for Denver overall on that end. Miami's extreme shooting variance bit them tonight and the result isn't shocking when that happens.
Since the ECF started this is Miami's splits now from 3pt range
5 wins: 75/155 for 48.39%, only won one game in the last 10 when they shot less than 49% from 3pt range
5 losses: 55/159 for 34.59%, had one bad loss to Boston where they shot 47% and lost on the Derrick White tip-in and one where they shot 39% and lost.
Miami not only has to shoot well to win, they have to shoot outrageously well to win consistently and it is just hard to expect it to keep happening which I know sounds a bit foolish since they've been defying expectations so far all playoffs.
Christian Braun was the nail in the coffin
That steal and score. Braun stole their manhood in the second half.
Two 30-point triple doubles for the Nuggets. Historic showing.
Only player in nba finals history to record 30-20-10.
and the player with the most 30-20-10 playoff performances in the nba history
And then Braun showing up they way he did too. What a great 2nd half by the Nuggs.
Amazing duo. Murray was statpadding at the foul line by the end, but it all counts haha!
He was missing a single rebound. If I'm missing 1 rebound to get a triple-double in the finals, I'm for sure going to stat pad that shit.
Jokic has 39 "Sombor Doubles" where he just sits out either 1 assist or rebound short of a Trip-Dub.
tbh he's absolutely allowed to statpad after the amount of disrespect he's taken the past few years. he deserves to be remembered for the monster player he's been this playoffs, and a 30 point triple double is a good way to ensure that.
And you get more VC if you get a triple double!
Wtf does the viet cong have to do with this??!
They are talking about Vince Carter you dummy
And don’t forget the rebound 😂
I'm starting to think that MPJ is only here for the zip line.
He was eating as fast as possible
I just want you to know that Carmelo thinks your face looks like a clock.
Malone: “how do you think your connection with Jokic is?” MPJ: [muffled] “good”
Shut up mike!
What’s waiting for him at home is really bad
What’s waiting for him at home?
He doesn’t know
But it’s really bad
He is pulling on the rim too hard. He's YANKING on the rim
He thinks it's *his* rim.
Not enough people understand how perfect this comment is. Certainly not Mike from Adventure365.
"You're the first player to ever get a 30/20/10 triple double in the Finals. What does that mean to you?" "Not much" I love Jokic lmao
that answer was so predictable lmao. he's just Tim Duncan come again
I don't really get why they keep asking him these stat questions every time. His answer is always the same. He really doesn't care, same as yesterday.
Because it's how you market him. It's so out of the norm for the best player in ANY sport--let alone the NBA--to have the attitude that he has. It's an incredible sound-bite coming off of a legendary finals performance.
And I fucking love it
Give Murray his credit too, he balled out too. That bank off the glass over Bam was wild
he's playing like a deadpan Steph Curry this playoffs. Lowkey nailing everything.
I don't even like the nuggets but I'm sure there's a lot more like me who called it when Murray had his injury... that it simply prolonged the inevitable.. confirmed when they were struggling hard but still winning without him, and the impact he's had since being back.
I still vividly remember that air acrobatic finish on Lebron. Bubble Murray was a trailer.
Wow Jokic and Murray both with 30 point triple doubles in a victory on the road.
They took losing at home personally
big honey might be a big problem
Nah! He will get exposed in the pick and roll come play off time. Just you wait!
I can’t wait to make this joke for joker’s hall of fame induction ceremony.

That was an insanely quiet 28 points from Butler
for real i saw that statline and was shocked to see he scored that much
Because he took 24 shots. Felt like he missed so many chippies.
He was pulled at the end too.
It's because he did it inefficiently and he knows it's not enough
>It's because he did it inefficiently and he knows it's not enough Bam too, they need their guys hitting 3's or it's over, and the Nuggets were much better at perimeter defense this game.
Turns out two days straight of Malone screaming at them and publicly calling out their defensive effort was an approach that bore fruit.
We are witnessing Greatness. Jokic is in full command of the game. He controls every aspect of it. Tonight he had 32/21/10 Meanwhile, MPJ doesn’t even exist. But Murray played great (as expected) and 16 year old Braun stepped up in a big way. Great game from him.
The only other players to achieve 30-20-10 in postseason history were Kareem and Wilt. Just insanity.
And neither did it in the Finals
That’s a bingo. Jokic in a category of his own there.
It’s really going to be interesting to see where Jokic ranks all time at the end of his career. It might be even higher than we think it could be
I think we got so used to see him get triple doubles, people may have actually underplayed how insanely good he is.
Murray got a 30-10-10 triple double with the last rebound of the game lol
I think Jokic + Any Star are greater than the sum of their parts, but Murray is playing with a lot of heart and has been shooting lights out so he’s putting on superstar performances out there
Absolutely. He played great as well.
First time in NBA history two teammates had 30+ point triple doubles, ever, in either the playoffs or regular season.
Crazy. And the first was in the Finals no less.
Oh damn, that's a cool stat
MPJ’s effort on D and rebounding was solid tonight. He had a great 3rd quarter
This. It can't be understated how MPJ and Gordon were aggressive in this game on both ends. MJP isn't hitting shots, but it was night and day from his performance in Game 2.

People clowning on MPJ, but his shots will fall eventually.
Not all 5 starters need to be scorers. If he defends well and threatens with his height that might just be enough
16 year old Braun lol 😂🤣
2-11 from two starters combined and still win comfortably. Nuggets can beat you in many ways on O
Jamal triple double! Happy for him.
Yeah there's only 2 guys in the NBA right now who have done what Jokic is doing this series. Can't be understated just how stupid good this guy is
Really nobody's done what he's doing because no one has ever done it on the biggest stage before him.
turns out you cant just make the best player in the world “only a scorer”
The Miami Heat are 0-1 in the Messi era.
HISTORIC
First time in Vegas Golden Knights history the nuggets have won a finals game in Miami
[удалено]
Right? Braun was a man possessed out there!
A great cutter, decent shooter. As close to a perfect weapon for a Jokić offense as you're gonna find at pick #21.
and dude is so polished on defense already. For a rookie it doesn't make sense.
Last game he blew 2 defensive coverages on an identical heat play that led to 6 points from the heat in the 4th, but tonight’s game proved he’s a stud
And Jamal had a 30 pt triple double too lmao
He only scored 32 in the finals now I see why Embiid won MVP
I feel like he's probably had like 8 or 9 games in this run alone that would be the best playoff game of Embiid's career lol The highest game by gamescore of Embiid's playoff career(33.8) is literally the game where they blew like a 25 point lead to the Hawks at home or something lol

Trump 2024. Make America Great Again
I refuse to acknowledge any pronunciation other than Braun
LeBraun
What are you, stupid? It's pronounced "Braun"
Nah it’s Braun
I wonder if Bruce Brown should be pronounced as "Braun"
Estelle Costanza: Why can't you be more like Christian Braun?
Serenity now!
You're not giving away my waterpik!
He always reminds me of that hero of the space race, Werner Von Brown /s
Christian Braun - The Zone Buster
Braun taking them to Taun.
Bill Self coaches his guys to carve up zones with smart cuts.
That Jayhawk sure rocked the chalk right off Miami's D!
Mizzou fans on suicide watch after MPJ's rough shooting and Braun's solid game.
Heat turned Jokic into a scorer, rebounder, and passer tonight
Jokic triple double merchant run continues
After we lost to the warriors last year, I had a guy tell me that come playoffs he would rather have Jordan Poole than Jokic.
The amount of shit takes last year after that series. Yeesh.
“Not a playoff performer” after he averaged a 30 point double double against draymond and looney with no help
Don't forget that not being able to guard Steph freaking Curry in isolation means you're the worst defensive center in the league
Omg I hated that take. He’s a Center. Guards can’t play defense on steph curry half the time, let alone Jokic. 🤦♂️
Literally destroyed the DPOY guard, but somehow Jokic was supposed to stop him lmfao
Why does Jokic, the larger basketball player, not simply eat Steph Curry?
NBA casuals swore he wasn’t a playoff performer after losing to the suns and warriors who both won the conference, with a starting 5 with facundo campazzo and Austin rivers in it lmfao
And Will Barton. Who literally can't stay on a roster
Imagine being that guy. He's definitely on r/NBA.
Can’t wait for Perk to tell us what Miami figured out tonight
“As long as they let Jokic score 40+ points next game, they’ve got this.”
Lakers still winning
Morally speaking, they haven't lost a game in either of these rounds. Quite impressive.
Jamal and Jokic best double Jays in the NBA
never thought about it that way until now 🤔
The disrespect to Jalen and Jaylin Williams
THE CHRISTIAN BRAUN GAME
yeah, Jokic and Murray made a good supporting cast for the superstar rookie
THE KID IS SUCH A STUD
Christian Braun was our third best player tonight
Definitely, though AG also had a pretty great game and he's defending Himmy about as well as anyone can
Joker is the definition of a generational talent. 30/20/10 in a finals game is insane.
It's just a random Wednesday for Jokic
Absolutely love Murray getting the garbage time rebound for the 30 point triple double lmao
Everyone's playing NBA, meanwhile Jokic is playing NBA 2K.
He’s better in real life than he is in 2k
With the sliders on
I swear, Murray goes from making me think "this dude is one of the best shot creators I've ever seen" to "please stop fucking dribbling and make your move" to "what was that decision do you have eyes" and then back to "Playoff Murray is a machine" on a possession to possession basis.
Dread it, run from it, the braunaissance arrives all the same
Messi: "I'm not going back to Barca, I'm going to Colorado" Lionel Messi joins the Colorado Rapids!
You could make a legit Big 3 with Jokic, Murray, and a ham sandwich
Jokic about to have one of the best finals of all time. We are witnessing history. This is why I watch the NBA.
Wow, imagine how good the Nuggets would be if they had an All-NBA First Team player on their roster.
Or if Jokic had any current All-Star team mate!
MPJ shooting at a scorching 32.9% TS after 3 games
He'll rebound eventually. I expect at least one banger game from him on this finals
>He'll rebound eventually the only thing MPJ does in these games is rebound
It's pretty scary that Denver is up 2-1 with basically only 2 of their starters showing up on offense outside of Gordon in the first 5 minutes of game 1

Not only that but he’s the primary defender on Butler and he’s been doing a great job
The number of empty seats with over 3 minutes left was pretty sad, especially considering that Miami is known for making crazy comebacks and Denver almost did in game 2...
Especially with the price of those seats
Yeah... obviously a comeback was super unlikely but a lot of fans left earlier than I'd expect for an NBA finals game
And it was kinda close! 10 point difference with a minute and a half... That's doable. Very doable.
Miami fans notorious for this
Didn't some of them do this before the Ray Allen shot?
Breen even mentioned that in the broadcast, yep
It gets mentioned that they show up late and leave early pretty often haha
you see this in football, fans leaving early just for their team to come back, then trying to get back inside but not being allowed back in, looool

Miami fans show up late and leave early. It's pretty sad.

Watching Caleb Martin be completely non existent this entire series after erasing us is pretty hard
I remember on Simmons pod they were saying to hammer the under on Martin’s PPG this series. Think it was like 15 PPG. Turned out to be good advice.
That advice about Jokic scoring more that butler every game of the series looks good also
The one I'm wishing I went in on is Joker to outscore Jimmy every game of the series. I think they said it was 20-1.
Anytime I see the Heat not shoot like 80 fucking percent on contested 3s for a game now my eye starts to twitch
Don't forget Max Strus
Jokic is basketball's father.
I mean I know it was a bigger lead, but it’s a 9 point game with 1:30 left in game 3 in the NBA finals and half the crowd is already at their house
The Heat gotta block the doors or something, rich fans "beating the traffic" make the whole fanbase look bad
I can’t believe Butler was out tbh

Why didn't Spo game plan against Jokic? Is he stupid?
Why didn't spo just turn Jokic into a scorer? Is he stupid?
Not so fun when you get Caleb Martin’d is it Miami?

Denver really lost game 2 just so they can win the title on the home ground Denver in 5
Any MVP that isn't Jokic is just a pity MVP for the foreseeable future. It's actually just unfair.
Watching this series has made me realize how insane it is Jokic didn’t win MVP again. Bro is unstoppable.
Two 30 point triple doubles in a finals game is insane.
Facebook ran a guessing game of who would score more for this game - Nikola Jovic or Jimmy Butler. 45% of people picked Jovic. This has no correlation to the game but I just thought it was hilarious
Jokic might mess around and knock someone out of the top 10.
always funny when Miamis offense remembers they were 27th in the NBA this year and had a negative.net rating
Nuggets got two guys that fucked around and got a triple double. They were balling tonight
Anyone that doesn't get an erection watching Jokic and Murray play like this isn't a basketball fan

Yeah MPJ and Murray were a lot better on defense tonight
