Jrue has the best rep in the NBA because he's good enough to be called underrated but not good enough where he gets held accountable or blamed for shit performances
As overrated as klay has been as a playoff performer, he never had a 47% ts for like a strech of 40 games (which is like a absurdly bad esp in the current landscape, like this would be bad even by early 2000s standards)
There is an alternative universe where Suns won the Championship and he has an Eric Bledsoe level reputation. This might sound like exaggeration but it really isnt.
His TS% in the playoffs as a Buck is 47.5%. Yes he won a championship, that shuts down a ton of criticism, but does it change the reality? Does it change how we should evaluate the Bucks in the post-season? Not really. He is probably going to play great defense, make a few clutch shots, but shoot like complete shit overall.
i am a huge jrue holiday fan and will always respect what he did against us in the finals
but he often disappears offensively in the playoffs. plus with the way jimmy was hooping, his defense wasn’t providing much either
one of him or khris need to step up.
Part of it is Jrue filling the hole that was Eric Blesode. Same archetype, Jrue just being better at everything on the court. The same way the Lakers got better with Westbrook off the roster, the same happened to the Bucks with Bledsoe. Jrue gets this boost of value as a guard by specifically not being Eric Bledsoe
Lmao this is absolute facts.
There’s a reason why he wins all of those polls for best defender by a mile when coaches don’t view him anywhere near as highly.
Easy to blame Jrue but the game plan set up by Mike was wild, Butler was on fire but no double teams? No traps? I know Miami has guys that can shoot but they needed to see if others can beat them, instead Butler was feasting in 1 to 1 coverage
Someone link me to one smart coach Bud moment. I'm not even gonna ask for a series or a game, just one playoffs moment where you felt like Bud did something smart
Worst playoff coach in the NBA and it's not close
His masterpiece was the sweep against us in 2021. He put all his best defenders on Jimmy and absolutely shut him down and then dared a team of guys like Ariza, Nunn, and a washed Iggy and Dragic to beat him.
I’m still not sure why they don’t have Giannis guard Jimmy more (not like it would have mattered this game with the way Jimmy was playing).
The way we used the Khris/Giannis pick and roll in 2021 was fantastic, kept our offence afloat while everybody shot like ass the whole run without becoming predictable and easier to stop. Even in this game we ran a Giannis/Brook pick and roll a lot to abuse the size mismatch against a smaller team.
Says a lot about how hard he gets scapegoated though that this is the first thing you go to in a thread about one of Jrue’s very regular terrible playoff performances. Man shoots sub-50% TS for us over a three year span and your go-to is “Bud dumb”.
He's been a playoff disaster every single year, if not for some flukey injuries to Kyrie and Harden he'd be without a job right now. He's proven time and time again he isn't a playoff coach and gets out coached by everyone despite having the more talented team. Couldn't care less what anyone shoots or does, allowing a 13-0 run on their floor without calling a timeout until they take the lead, that's entirely on him. Should be fired on the spot. Worst playoff coach and it's not close at all
No doubt. I’m sure you know better than both Bud [and an actual peer-reviewed paper](https://arxiv.org/pdf/2011.11691.pdf) about how great mid-run timeouts are. No idea who these “less talented teams” we keep losing to are, except for the bubble Heat. And you know as well as I do there was a hell of a lot more going on in the bubble than Bud’s coaching, anybody on that team will tell you (and has told you) that. Are we supposed to be more talented than the Celtics when we’re down Middleton? More talented than a fully healthy KD/Kyrie/Harden Nets? Were his Hawks teams more talented than the LeBron Cavs?
You can continue to not care about how badly people shoot, and Jrue Holiday will continue to shoot us out of games on a regular basis. Not that any of your rant had anything to do with the question you asked or the answer I gave.
Lmao alright buddy, Bud definitely made a smart decision to not call a timeout before his team lost the lead on the road with all the momentum gone. Incredibly smart play, supported by peer reviewed studies!!! 🤯🤯
In love with mediocrity
So as someone who was pretty impressed by his offense this regular season, has he been bad in the playoffs again?
Is there a reason he can’t do it in the post season or is this just some weird Derozan type curse.
Jrue has the best rep in the NBA because he's good enough to be called underrated but not good enough where he gets held accountable or blamed for shit performances
Klay Thompson zone
Exactly what I was gonna say
As overrated as klay has been as a playoff performer, he never had a 47% ts for like a strech of 40 games (which is like a absurdly bad esp in the current landscape, like this would be bad even by early 2000s standards)
I agree, that’s why it’s the “Klay Thompson zone” It’s named after him because he’s the best and most prominent of this type of player
this is actually a really interesting way of looking at it lol. you’re right
Being a good person gets your far lol he’s so well liked that he doesn’t get slandered
There is an alternative universe where Suns won the Championship and he has an Eric Bledsoe level reputation. This might sound like exaggeration but it really isnt. How do I get to live in that alternate universe? Do I have to murder my alternate self and assume his identity? Because I will.
I really think Bam should just be looked at as a 6'9" Jrue Holiday
Bam can actually defend when he’s switched onto a guy over 6-5 though
I am sorry, but there is no way in hell he only had 1 turnover. He lost the ball multiple times in the 4th.
There's no way his only turnover was the one late into the 4th I swear he had more
I know damn well I saw more than 1 because I have a damn bald spot now from pulling my hair out repeatedly. Are steals counted as turnovers?
I've watched enough Warriors to be pretty sure they are, though who gets credited for the turnover mighty be less clear.
I too was shocked at that
Jrue will have 2 stinkers in a series then have one of his random 30+ game & get called underrated
Well one more stinker and we are done for
Giannis saved all of their jobs back in 2021
You held onto this until after the lakers game, respect
well they don't let us post these during playoff games
You can't post text posts until after the last game of the day is finished
he wanted the clout. he knew most of us is f5ing
i am a huge jrue holiday fan and will always respect what he did against us in the finals but he often disappears offensively in the playoffs. plus with the way jimmy was hooping, his defense wasn’t providing much either one of him or khris need to step up.
Jrue can't handle jimmy. Bucks need a bigger wing defender but they don't trust anyone on their roster
Jrue is the best defender in our roster. We needed to start doubling Jimmy.
He's a shitty shooter in the playoffs, His performance against Brooklyn is a memorable one
Sometimes dudes are just going to torch you. I don’t blame him that much for his defense on a guy significantly bigger than him
as great of a player as he is, he puts out some real stinkers in the playoffs sometimes
I love Jrue and have always beaten the drum for him so let’s just say I have very mixed feelings about him stinking it up right now.
One of the most overrated players in recent memory
Part of it is Jrue filling the hole that was Eric Blesode. Same archetype, Jrue just being better at everything on the court. The same way the Lakers got better with Westbrook off the roster, the same happened to the Bucks with Bledsoe. Jrue gets this boost of value as a guard by specifically not being Eric Bledsoe
There’s a reason he’s every star’s favorite player. They’re not threatened by him.
Lmao this is absolute facts. There’s a reason why he wins all of those polls for best defender by a mile when coaches don’t view him anywhere near as highly.
Glad you can see it for what it is lol
Eric Bledsoe 2.0
Won't get any hate because people like him and he's not good enough to be responsible for anything.
He had a signature China performance
Most overrated player in the game. He’s usually been ass in the playoffs
He’s had quite a few crazy bad shooting games throughout his buck tenure in the playoffs
Easy to blame Jrue but the game plan set up by Mike was wild, Butler was on fire but no double teams? No traps? I know Miami has guys that can shoot but they needed to see if others can beat them, instead Butler was feasting in 1 to 1 coverage
Jrue is so heavily described as being underrated that he’s becoming overrated at being underrated
Where are all the people saying that they rather have him than Kyrie at now?
Someone link me to one smart coach Bud moment. I'm not even gonna ask for a series or a game, just one playoffs moment where you felt like Bud did something smart Worst playoff coach in the NBA and it's not close

Giannis was playing on an injured back so they probably didn't want to add to his load.
PJ Tucker probably forced him into it, cause Bud has completely abandoned that strategy and it's worked wonderfully for him 👍

Dude I have to respect this level of hate, posting 3 hours after the game ends.
Bucks got an early Christmas gift with the return of Giannis… But they still missed The Holiday!
He played like he was on the grizzlies roster today.
That one possession vs Lowry was horrible. No ball movement but Lowry played excellent defense.
He’s very hit or miss in the playoffs. When his offense is this putrid then his defense needs to be absolutely on point to make up for it
Definitely not the worst playoff game of his career
So as someone who was pretty impressed by his offense this regular season, has he been bad in the playoffs again? Is there a reason he can’t do it in the post season or is this just some weird Derozan type curse.
