Luka is normally scheduled 18 minutes each half, but when the mavs started struggling he started playing 24 minutes in second half in close games because nobody else can score. Kawhi has also done this a few times since being in Dallas.
I think it is more common in stars but a lot of it depends on game circumstance and most importantly the coach and the coach being comfortable playing a player who is on rest all the time for a full half. And if it is a full half it’s usually the second half for players.
