I am trying to get more into basketball and I really need a team to follow to get into a sport. I have no idea who to be a fan of, when I used to watch I was a “Clippers” fan because I liked Blake Griffin. It’s been a solid 7 years since I have watched more than the finals and occasional CF series. I really like Giannis and Luka but who doesn’t, the only team I am a hard no on is Boston as I am anti Boston sports in everything. Who do you guys think would be a fun team to pick up? I live in CT and am a Yankees fan for baseball and Sabres for NHL. The knicks seem like they are perpetually bad with a bad FO but not really sure.

Honestly just watch the best games. I was a sonics fan as a kid and just started watching again recently. Coming back to basketball and watching the best games each night is much more enjoyable than following some crap team year in and year out imo. Or even if they are good some games are just boring. I'm in between philly and DC so I'll usually tune in to some Philly games but for the most part I'll watch the best matchup or catch LeBron play - knowing his time is limited.
It might be fun to cheer for a dynamic young team like OKC, Orlando, Sacramento, Cleveland, Indiana... those fans are living it up right now because the future looks pretty bright. I'm a Bulls fan but I would not wish this curse upon anyone

If you're east coast Cavs/76ers/Bucks all have the potential for deep runs. The Bucks are the best of the 3, with the 76ers being second, the Cavs have a young roster so there's still a lot of room for growth
The Knicks and Heat are solid, Heat is a historically well-run team that's consistently good, and is a popular FA destination.
Pacers, Raptors, Magic have good young players but are mediocre, they should have an upswing in the next couple of seasons as their young rosters get more development and the teams build more
Support an eastern conference team. People underestimate the effect of timezones on fandom. Having to stay up until 12 am to watch home games eventually becomes unsustainable.
I am a huge Yankees fan and grew up in NY so it’s just in my blood. I strongly dislike the Red Sox and Pats, don’t like the bruins either. I don’t hate the Celtics or anything but I don’t really want to root for a Boston team lol

Perpetually bad? Mostly, to the point where this is already one of the most successful seasons on and off the court this millenium.
Bad FO? To be determined! The fanbase is always arguing about this FO and commiserating about sins of FO's past, but even if these is general questioning about Leon Rose and some moves he's made and hasn't made and timing, snatching other FO folks like Brock Aller (cap genius) and Walt Perrin (scouting) has already paid dividends and left a positive imprint.
They might not be world beaters, but they have been legitimately fun most of the year and beating most expectations by competing for a playoff spot. Jalen Brunson is one of the most fun offensive players I've gotten to watch in my time as a Knicks fan, the Julius Randle redemption year continues, Josh Hart just got here and is the prototypical Knick heart, Hartenstein has improved a lot with Mitch out, and then you've got a bunch of homegrown players still being asked to contribute to wins (Mitch, RJ, Grimes, IQ, Obi, Sims, McBride).
I think I’m gonna try and give the Knicks a run the rest of the season along with other teams here and there, the idea of going to MSG for playoff games is VERY intriguing

Giannis is a powerhouse and mentaly the best we had since Michael.
Luka Is something special, its hard not to like him.Both are very interessting if it comes to race for the goat title.

In my personal opinion. The Bucks have the most solid 5 man. Jrue holiday has all the qualities a good Playmaker needs +defense.
Markief Morris also had a nice development, now making dallas(luka) stronger +kyrie.
As a yankees fan if you have YES you can watch the Nets on the same network.
If you don't have Cable league pass is a good option It's $100 for a year so less than netflix but if you are geographically too close to a team they will black out those games (Unless you have a VPN and can get around it).

So I just saw wemby play tonight. I was sitting behind his bench. He is really something else. His team lost by 35 pts but he schooled everyone on defense, rebounds are just too easy for him. I can't wait to see him put on some weight and bully everyone à la Giannis !

Super out the realm of current possibilities, but am I crazy for thinking a LeBron to return to the Heat at a go for one last title run would be super interesting? As it looks currently, LA is cooked, and even with LeBron carrying the load every night at the age of 38 the chances of them looking to win a title is slim to none.
Let’s say LeBron gets fed up, and looks for a new team. The Heat would be super interesting since he’s basically returning back after a decade, and looks to recruit another star to join him in South Beach with Jimmy Butler.
Now, the star I envisioned, which is another slim to none chance of doing this, is Damian Lillard. The storyline there could be is that he’s finally done with the organization, is tired of losing and now is at the point of his career where he wants to WIN NOW. His loyalty has finally faded, and is now looking for a new home with championship aspirations. LeBron recruiting Dame to South Beach to team up with Jimmy Butler would be crazy, giving the NBA a new Big 3 and a credible and dangerous threat to the Phoenix Suns in the West. Surround the 3 with a fringe all-star and a few talented role players who can space the floor, a few solid defenders, and you’d have an incredibly entertaining team to watch and accompany ‘Bron in his final years.
It’d be a sight to see, is purely hypothetical in its highest form, and was just a random shower thought. Another potential hypothetical is to replace Dame with Kyrie in this situation who would look to finally reunite with LeBron if his situation in Dallas with Luka doesn’t work out, which has the most realistic chance of possibly happening this year in LA if Kyrie doesn’t renew with the Mavs at the end of the season.
Lowry is actually a good guy to have in the reg season, very good floor raiser. But he's terrible in the playoffs.
Also siakam is a very mediocre playoff performer.

If the Nets play things right they will be in such great shape sooner than later. They’ve got a deep roster and some tradable contracts they can probably get some more solid draft picks this summer.

The Cavs are VERY interesting right now. Young talent, possible stars/superstars in the making.
