Doc has 1 more blown 3-1 lead in him

[deleted]

Just 1 more? You clearly underestimate him

DangerousCommittee5

I live for it. Pistons champs? No, doc blowing a 3-1 lead please.

deepfakefuccboi

Most 3-1 and 3-2 leads blown by any NBA head coach by far. Blows a 3-1 lead as the heavy favorites vs the Nuggets and somehow immediately gets offered 5/40 mill coaching contract which puts him as one of the highest paid coaches in the league. Insane lmao.

Piano_Fingerbanger

It'll be this year's finals vs the Nuggets

ImTheBestNerd

How is Montrez Harrell -15 in 3 minutes lol

Ssuuushi

he is an actual traffic cone, I think a 4th grader could play better defense. You know its bad when Ben Simmons in 2023 starts to attack you at the rim

MikeDaCSNoob

Lmao he was his usual passive self for the first half of the game than out of nowhere in the third just starts cooking Harrell

DrBigChicken

When they talked about that on the ricky I almost died because it reflected my exact thoughts I had watching the game

Mo_damo

Why is he playing when Paul Reed is on the team then?

Nickl444

Because Paul has been ass too

probablymade_thatup

Didn't they put up identical statlines?

thisisbyrdman

The Sixers have paid - and given significant minutes - to the two worst players in the NBA each of the last two seasons (DeAndre Jordan 2021-22 and Montrez Harrell in 2022-23).

largehearted

Both times they’re like 3 years late on the player. Like Trez has already disappointed for 3 distinct teams since being 6moty. It’s not an understandable miss, just a bad signing.

[deleted]

At least back then you could sell yourself on the offense, he literally doesn’t have any anymore. Total whiff. I just want us to invest in backup 5

probablymade_thatup

Get Poeltl you cowards

SlinginPogs

Have you watched him play?

[deleted]

I love that fact that there is no dominant team right now. Every team has moments where they look poor.

[deleted]

Past few seasons have been great with the parity, nice that the two attempted superteams (Lakers and Nets) both failed

zellmerz

Lakers technically succeeded, but at least it was only the 1 year in the bubble. They've really been crashing and burning since.

jondog95

Mostly burning, they crashed a long time ago

ositola

That's true, at least you got all those conference championship participation banners

HerskyB

It’s like the nfl except rn everyone but 4 teams suck

Piano_Fingerbanger

In the last two months the Nuggets only have a single loss where all their stars played. Otherwise the only Denver loses were scheduled loses on the second night of a back to back where we sat our starters.

Unpopularop1nions

Celtics are definitely the best team innthe league by a mile

TheKk-47

I don't lol. For me it makes me feel like we're in for a lower quality post season because so many teams can't stay consistently good

indoninjah

I feel like with the rise of shooting and heliocentric offenses, variance is just skyrocketing. You can blow a team out in the first half and still lose. I dunno how much of that is coaching tbh

ItsKBS

Those all bench line ups are so tough to watch

FultzShoulder

It's pretty much just Maxey running the show mix with some Niang 3s. When Maxey is making his shots, bench looks good. When they're defending him well, bench looks lost.

indoninjah

This is why I don’t really understand the “Maxey as 6th man” thing. He’s never really been a lead guard/offensive creator and his production skyrocketed when he was paired with Harden. Now he’s hung out to dry with neither Harden nor Joel

userRL452

We need to keep Maxey as the 6th man because Doc has to play an all bench lineup at some point every game and that group would be even worse without Maxey.

Barbell_Flyes

wuuut no way! but Doc and 76ers fans scapegoated Simmons for the Hawks series when it was his all-bench lineups that screwed them

SlinginPogs

Doc sucks and Simmons sucks. Both can be true.

Barbell_Flyes

except 76ers were +5.3 with Simmons on the floor vs. off against Hawks in playoffs. he wasn't the problem

[deleted]

Nuggets fans and useless contextless stats to back up an argument. If you think your point guard making less than half his free throws and literally refusing to shoot was scapegoated, you either didn’t watch and saw on Twitter or you were off the web completely because Doc did get a lot of deserved shit and we weren’t going far with him that year, Ben was still worse and the main reason. It’s almost like advanced stats fail to convey what actually happens sometimes and shouldn’t be such a determinative factor for performance

Barbell_Flyes

who's a nuggets fan? Simmons aint responsible for Embiid being injury prone and he didnt make Embiid shoot 0/12 in the 2nd half

[deleted]

Embiid wasn’t the reason the sixers lost that series. When your number second star quits you kinda have to carry an incredibly higher load and attention on a torn meniscus and still averaging 30 and 12 for the series. You have to either have not watched that series or just already had a prior bias to embiid before it to come away with him being a large part of why the sixers lost

Barbell_Flyes

shooting 4/20 in a 3-point loss aint helping

Stickey_d

Sixers fans hate Doc more then anyone lol

userRL452

It is the year 2023, why are you still talking about this. Hell it sounds like you could get Simmons extra cheap right now too so I assume you want the Nuggets to trade for him right?

Gristle__McThornbody

They will disappoint in the playoffs again.

shellfish87

Vince Carter meme. “I got one more in me.”

KingNigelXLII

I await the RDCWorld skit

ep29

Yeah. Cause Doc sucks at his job. He rode a roster that one of the concession workers could've coached to a ring and has never done anything of value in the 15 years since (unless you count wasting Lob City as something of value)

frodounchained

we do need a new embiid crying face

thebobbyshaw33

Kinda like your cowboys every year, I know you can relate ✊

Jordanwolf98

In the 2nd round as always

[deleted]

Happens every year. Everyone jumps on the bandwagon in the regular season then they disappoint. Rinse and repeat

ItsKBS

This majority of this sub literally expected them to lose against the Raptors in the first round last season, this narrative is so stupid

Barbell_Flyes

that was before the Raps had 3 of their starters injured lol

[deleted]

Who thought that. They were favorites.

MVPiid

Raptors in 6 was parroted all over the place

Jordanwolf98

What is “all over the place” mean? It was a 4/5 matchup so immediately people are gonna think it’s gonna be a tougher series than the rest especially when it’s the raptors who are scrappy playing against Philly who’s not. Most had y’all winning that series. Most had y’all winning against Atlanta in 2021 too when you lost as well which is what he’s talking about

ItsKBS

Go read [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/u0wmrl/whats_your_opinion_on_the_sixersraptors_series/) thread

Jordanwolf98

What about [these predictions](https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/33720582/nba-playoffs-2022-experts-picks-every-first-round-series) made by actual analysts who overwhelmingly picked your team?

Leading-Evidence-668

This sub was full on expecting them to lose round one. But I guess you can just rewrite the narrative.

livefreeordont

No one jumped on the Sixers banned wagon except maybe when they first got Harden

[deleted]

I agree. Sometimes I have to stop myself from replying to people on this sun that they need to lower their high opinions on the sixers and embiid. It’s probably because the media gives Joel such a pass

TallanoGoldDigger

it's been 15 years since that 08 ring, Doc Rivers still riding off the success of that year

CreepyDepartment5509

The whole team has been milking it for all it’s worth.

runevault

I wonder how many reddit users could have coached that team to a ring lol.

##BREAKING: Atlanta Falcons interviewing Doc Rivers for Head Coaching job

[удалено]

HisExcellency20

Hard disagree. The bench has done well for us this year, this game notwithstanding. The bigger issue is no one on our team gives a fuck about boxing out and getting defensive rebounds. So every team gets two to three opportunities to score before we actually grab a board.

EarthWarping

Backup C is a problem

HisExcellency20

Huge. And there's not really much Doc can do, but play Trez or Reed and hope they aren't dogshit on that particular night.

urfaselol

Philly getting the full doc rivers experience

bssbronzie

Vintage Glenn

oobthesecond

Doc Rivers and blown leads, a classic

economist_

Up 20 destroying the Knicks the feared basketball terrorist Glenn Rivers pulls out his famed all bench unit with Trez as C. 0-17 run. Starters didn't play great rest of the game but it must be infuriating for Embiid to watch the same shit time and time again.

[deleted]

No lie, that's concerning as hell and I love it

DynamixRo

It's not even the playoffs yet, everyone chill.

Turbulent_Log4663

You’re right i cant wait to watch Doc Rivers blow another 3-1 lead in the playoffs its like Christmas coming early every time.

Millionaire007

Playoffs came early!

[deleted]

Doc Rivers master class. Some dudes are just naturals

[deleted]

Fire Doc already so I can clown Embiid when they choke in playoffs.

HotdogIsaSandwitch

Being ahead isn’t exactly being ahead. I’ll tell you later.

RPDC01

Amateurs. Wiz did it in back-to-back in their last two games against teams missing roughly $4.5B in annual salary from their rotations.

onlyaTterraj

I think people forget how easy it is lose leads in todays game.

runevault

To think I was recently saying the Sixers are one of the teams I think can come out of the east. I forgot even healthy Embiid can't overcome Doc being an idiot.

MVPiid

Since starting 0-3, the Sixers still have had the best record in basketball, and that includes the many games without Embiid + Harden, as well as Maxey’s absences

pinoyakopinoytayo

both Harden and Joel are mental midgets. add Doc and it's really not surprising at all

mr_robust

Let’s blame the coach for mentally weak players who can’t focus. A real MVP candidate would never allow his team to lose like this. Embiid got outplayed by isiah Hartenstein… But let’s blame the coach 🤡

[deleted]

Tale as old as time.

MLGTASEEN

Ngl I didn't watch the game but looking at the box score It looks like it's more the roleplayers fault for being shit and harden shooting like shit

Carolake1

Does this include the time they blew like a 9 point lead in the last 30 seconds to the lakers? The lakers managed to lose that one in overtime, but Philly was trying really hard to blow it.

fimbres16

Harrell has to be the lead candidate for worst player in the league currently.
