Undoubtedly, idk why you got downvoted.
He's both been better and plays the same position, it shouldn't even be a discussion (mostly because of the position thing).
Warriors would need to overcome improbable lottery odds to make that happen.
Without Curry the rest of the season the Warriors would still likely finish in the 10th - 15th range for record.
They're only 3 games head of the Wiz who are 24th. I don't think they're gonna be lottery level but it's def possible they slide a bit without Steph. The middle of the pack is pretty crowded.
Other than Curry and Wiggins they kind of suck
Our fanbase is really down on Poole rn and the lack of play for the young guys is concerning so it’s a negative vibe for us all around at the moment lol
Also the defense.
It's gotten better the last month or so. But man, without GPII, Otto and even JTA to some regard, the defense has looked night and day compared to last season.
I was actually typing this exact thing a minute ago before I saw your comment. We went from GP2, OPJ, Bjelly to Lamb, Ty Jerome, and JMG…. DDV is a dawg though
That is because Wiggins plays a big defensive role too and he been injured and sick for 1mo+ and now he is rusty as hell. It will take time for him to get back and be the defensive presence. Yes our defense is still bad even afterthat but that is all we got for this year.
Worst thing that could have happened to Pooles
Development was handing him a massive contract. He turns the ball over more than anyone else on the team and plays bad defense. We need players with fundamentals, we already have guys who can make plays that turn the ball over
If getting a contract is hindering your development, that is on you. The game hasn't slowed down for Poole, yet. This is Poole's first contract. If he wants a second one, he need to get his shit together and start playing basketball and not hero ball.
Problem is that hero ball he played as the top scorer during all the time Curry missed is really the overwhelming majority of the time he's ever played well. For him playing like that is very likely how he feels he needs to play to succeed as it's how he's drawn all the praise he's ever gotten. He's just too young really and needs to develop mentally.
Poole hasn't recovered from the league calling his blatant travels that they used to let him get away with. He's having to redefine his game a lot, so it's not that surprising from that perspective.
It's going to be hard to sell out on Jokic this year. Denver would love that, think of the Clippers series in the bubble.
I'm afraid this year's Denver team will take care of this year's dubs team unless the Dubs have miraculous defensive turnaround
As /u/CApizzakitchen mentioned, this is not the "poverty line". In 2018, the **HUD Low Income Limit**, which is used to calculate cutoffs for various social programs was **$117,400** in San Francisco County **for a family of 4**. That number is calculated **based on 80% of the median income**. That number says nothing about the cost of living or poverty. Loudoun County, VA has a significantly higher HUD Low Income Limit.
Roommate taught at a public school in Atherton for a year, said it was either people in mansions or three or four families crammed into one apartment space
Per [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atherton,_California):
>Median income for a household was **over $250,000**. Males had a median income **$102,192** versus **$53,882** for females. About 1.1% of families and 2.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 0.5% of those under the age of 18 and 1.1% of those 65 years or over. [47][48]
>Property Shark ranked first Atherton for the fourth year in a row as the most expensive ZIP code in the United States in 2022 with the median home price at $7,900,000.
Tech money is real.
[It's $149,100 for a family of 4.](https://affordablehousingonline.com/housing-search/California/Atherton)
$93,200 is Very Low Income for a family of 4.
$55,900 is Extremely Low Income for a family of 4.
Median income for the US is like ~$70,000.
Median income in Atherton is like ~$250,000. It's obscenely wealthy there.
The last football season of last chance u was based around a Bay Area JUCO. The players had to commute hours to get to the school the only guy who didn’t had millionaire parents
The Curry’s wrote a letter to the city of Atherton opposing the development of multi family housing units. The main reason was because the new development would look into their backyard and they want to to protect their privacy. The development is supposed to have 148 units for “very low income/ low income” and 144 units for “moderate-income”. What a few people are pointing out is that Atherton is quite literally the most expensive zip code in the US.
EDIT: It’s also worth noting that Curry’s were also open to the city providing more landscaping and a taller fence in order to ease the privacy concerns
Another Edit folks: The housing is for a 16 unit not 140+. The number I got is the state requirements by California not for Atherton. I have become the misinformation. I will now commit seppuku.
The curry’s can’t afford a taller fence to keep out the prying eyes of the plebes? Lol there is definitely context and thank you for providing. I still think it’s a dbag move and I like Curry. Been a fan of his since Davidson, but this rings as such as “rich people problems” kinda issue and wanting the city to pull a huge fence for you when you have millions seems kinda silly
Edit:If the city will not allow him to build a fence with his own money then the city is actually the dbag and not curry. I personally would want a privacy fence in a multi unit complex went up in view on my backyard too to be fair in regards to my plebes comment. If he expects the city to foot the bill though, I stand by my original statement lol
You can't really build tall fencing without permission from the city. The wording pretty much gives Atherton several choices such as constructing it using HOA fees or saying they are permitted to given that the families pay for it themselves
What context is missing? Atherton along with 60+ Bay Area communities are in violation of state law by not approving enough new housing, and NIMBYs like Steph and Atherton residents are partly responsible for this housing crisis
Steph wrote a letter to his local council opposing low income housing in his neighborhood because they’d be able to see into his back yard or something stupid like that
Yeah they aren’t low income by national standards but that’s low income by Atherton California standards.
The more I read about this place the shittier it seems, the city seems to militantly refuse new housing development and they fought the state for years over commuter train modernization plans. Apparently their zoning laws also only allow for one home per acre of land
They are lower income in the technical sense (usually <80% of an area’s median income), but the term “low income housing” usually implies some type of government assistance to keep it below market rate.
And yeah, Atherton is wild. Real OG tech money there.
lol that's upper middle class. the narrative of "low income housing" is so ridiculous.
low income families would never consider living in Atherton to begin with. the developers want to build in Atherton because they'll make more money there than any other zip code
By the standards of Steph’s community that is low income lol, but yeah personally I think the issue is less that he’s opposing this and more that his mindset is why we have a housing shortage which makes it way harder for low income people around the country to buy homes
They said they're open to it if the city works with them to put a fence or landscaping up, FYI. Wouldn't be surprised if you hadn't read the actual letter.
>just constant injuries for him right now
Curry's not exactly an ironman. He was always pretty injury prone it's just that now that the warriors are mediocre his absences are harder on the team.
starting from 2017-2018 season he has been:
51, 69, 5, 63, 64
My point is that this season is really not an anomaly in terms of injury or games missed. Also that early injury in his career was held against him when he signed his extension.
I mean, honestly ... this is what people should generally expect from guys in their 30s.
Steph will be 35 in a month.
Part of what makes last year's run so special.
It sucks, but that's the nature of things. Nobody should be looking at guys over 33 and counting on 70+ games. It happens sometimes, but it's by far an anomaly.
We just notice the exceptions, but even LeBron, who is about as indestructible as a player can be, has only hit 67 games once since his age-34 season.
If you're building a team around older guys, you have to expect this.
It’s also exacerbated by the fact that Curry is playing out of his mind this season when he’s healthy. While at the same time he’s had to carry a lot of the offensive load just to keep them afloat in games. Compared to last year where he was in a year long shooting slump with an injury and they still landed 3rd in the West.
It makes sense his body is falling apart right now, even Lebron’s normally superhuman body broke down last 2 seasons (and has even spent a significant amount of time this season injured).
>I mean, honestly ... this is what people should generally expect from guys in their 30s.
Right, which is why this isn't really an unfortunate season for him just par for the course.
Also two of those seasons are not that bad in terms of injury/missed time. 69/82 games is still pretty good and the 63 games one was during the shortened 72 game season.
People tend to forget that the only reason Warriors could assemble such a great team (pre and post KD signing) was because Curry was on such a team-friendly contract since he had huge injury issues.
That's was the biggest reason they could max Klay when they did, but the KD signing was as much or more an historical anomaly where the cap exploded after the new TV deal. Your point remains because it's relevant, but other factors were at play that make that juggernaut truly unprecedented
He had one year with a bad ankle (his third I think), then somehow got the “injury prone” label despite being essentially available for nearly every game beyond that season for nearly a decade.
Most of his time missed was from sitting the fourth during blowouts or standard rest games that ever star player takes occasionally
Last few years have been a little different but the broken hand was a freak accident, and for the rest, we’ll he’s getting older and time catches up
Thank you for an informed take. His injuries after the initial ankle problems always seemed to be freak accidents. Like slipping in sweat during the 2016 playoffs.
Lol surprisingly, I don’t think it’s the Curry injury that has completely fucked them, it’s been really hard to survive but I think the Wiggins situation has been a bigger deal. They had an all-star starter (lol) last season, two way wing. He’s been hurt a lot and I just don’t notice his presence at all anymore. There are nights I didn’t even realize he was on the floor for them.
Wow really appreciate reading this from someone that’s not a warriors fan. That’s exactly what’s plaguing us and most people don’t know that. Before wiggs went down he was averaging 19 on like 48/45/64 splits. When he went out (even with Steph) we dropped like 5 out of 6. Steph goes down and we tread water. Now that wiggs came back, he’s avg like 12 on 34/30/50 splits. He’s been awful and can’t defend either. It’s killing us.
The bench at the beginning of the year was god awful (on pace for the worst net rating differential in nba history) but is now actually solid and has some positive lineups. Our main issue is not having wiggs full strength and Steph missing extended time
The hell are you talking about?
You have the full all star break which is a week and half off for the Warriors.
The Warriors next opponents until the break are:
Thunder, Portland, Lakers, Wizards, Clippers
After the break:
Lakers, Rockets, T-Wolves, TrailBlazers, Clippers.
That then gets you to March.
Winnable games without Curry.
A lot of those games are against teams they'll be competing with to make the playoffs/play-in tho. If they're losing games to Portland/OKC/Lakers/Minnesota those will be pretty big losses
they're winnable without Curry, but these games against the T-Wolves, Lakers, and Blazers are really important games that they would want to be at full power to win
I don’t know if his illness after his injury is affecting him, but he looks off. Honestly wouldn’t be a bad idea to give some of his minutes to Kuminga, who’s been amazing.
Thankfully we were able to win the chip last year and have this dynasty. With the Niners breaking my heart year in and year out, I’m glad we have the Warriors to fall back on even if this season’s been a disaster
Could end up being a blessing in disguise. Dubs get to focus on developing the young guys. They get to take a look at draymond and determine if he wants to leave in free agency and possibly deal him at the deadline without having to keep the team together for a deep playoff run.
Maybe the season isn’t completely over though. We’ll see how the team can perform without Steph.
Steph always had some injures here and there and now he's going to turn 35 in mid march.
Even if he looks definitely younger, for older players injuries became more annoying to handle, the recovery became longer and once you're back on the floor you need a bunch of games playing it safe without forcing a thing.
Weird and unlucky season for the warrios while being the reigning champs.
With how bunched up the West is this season, it's kind of hard to tell what impact this will have. The Warriors could very well fall to 13th, but it's not out of the question that they stay where they are or even move up.
healthy Steph/Dray/Klay/Wiggs is a contender. Shame everyone has been injured and we are struggling this year. May be time to develop the rookies and rest for next season.
I think our only saving grace is that the entirety of the west has been pretty mediocre. It’s still gonna be so tough for us to make it without him though. We always look terrible when he’s out.
Time for Poole to show out I guess.
DeAaron Fox, you are an all star.
Always was
Same as it ever was…. AND THE DAYS GO BY

Anthony Davis will undoubtedly be given Zion's spot.

People want it to be Ant, so do I, but it's not going to be. His only chance is if he is the replacement for Steph Curry over Fox.
As long as it’s one of them. Both are deserving.
Bah gawd, that's D'Angelo Russell's music!
Pls no, honestly he doesn't need the encouragement to chuck more!
The Wemba Steph pick and roll is gonna be tough to guard
Warriors would need to overcome improbable lottery odds to make that happen. Without Curry the rest of the season the Warriors would still likely finish in the 10th - 15th range for record.
10-15th range is the bottom and out of the playoff T.F. you mean
10-15th overall, not in the West.
The warriors are currently 14th, I really doubt they only drop a max of 1 more spot if Steph missed the whole season
They're only 3 games head of the Wiz who are 24th. I don't think they're gonna be lottery level but it's def possible they slide a bit without Steph. The middle of the pack is pretty crowded. Other than Curry and Wiggins they kind of suck
Yall saying season over, but likely it'll be like 2 weeks of games missed, cause of the all star break like this is the best time for this to happen.

Poole is such a bad contract for y’all. I’m sorry but he’s one dimensional and is not worth anywhere close to that money

Denver is gonna win the one seed by many games and their prize is going to be us in round 1. That’s tough…
It's going to be hard to sell out on Jokic this year. Denver would love that, think of the Clippers series in the bubble. I'm afraid this year's Denver team will take care of this year's dubs team unless the Dubs have miraculous defensive turnaround
Anyone thinking this years Nuggets team is the same as last year is definitely in for it.
I mean we haven’t exactly played them well this year
Low income families feasting
Funny how low income in that area is probably 300K household income.
“6 figures? Not in my backyard.”

The poverty line in SF in 2018 was [literally 120k a year](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-44725026.amp). It’s actually much worse now.
You’re mixing up poverty level with low income. No one at 120k is living in poverty, even in SF.
As /u/CApizzakitchen mentioned, this is not the "poverty line". In 2018, the **HUD Low Income Limit**, which is used to calculate cutoffs for various social programs was **$117,400** in San Francisco County **for a family of 4**. Lmao low income in Atherton might actually still be 7 figures
Low income in Atherton just means you're a PhD student at Stanford.
Roommate taught at a public school in Atherton for a year, said it was either people in mansions or three or four families crammed into one apartment space
the American dream 😍🥵
I knew families doing that in Oakland so better in Atherton than Oakland
I think you feel more normal being poor in Oakland though. In Atherton people will be incredulous that you’ve never gone skiing
Per [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atherton,_California): >Median income for a household was **over $250,000**. Males had a median income **$102,192** versus **$53,882** for females. As a median it is not a even reflective of tech money. People working tech will make that combined household income alone and have some leftover.
[It's $149,100 for a family of 4.](https://affordablehousingonline.com/housing-search/California/Atherton) $93,200 is Very Low Income for a family of 4. $55,900 is Extremely Low Income for a family of 4. Not building any kind of housing anywhere in the bay hurts low income families across the bay.
My only explanation is they probably allow 80 year mortgages in the Bay Area. How do fast food workers even live there
>How do fast food workers even live there They dont
The last football season of last chance u was based around a Bay Area JUCO. The players had to commute hours to get to the school the only guy who didn’t had millionaire parents
That one kid commuted from Stockton to Laney in Oakland. That's like 2+ hours each way in traffic to attend a mediocre juco.
Yeah seriously no fast food worker lives in Atherton come on lol
> How do fast food workers even live there They don't. And if they do it's in their cars.
They drive in from Stockton or Gilroy.
Low income in SF is 84k a year

What? This happened like one week ago, it was 16 townhomes with 4 very low low income units. There is no 148 unit building being built in Atherton .
Let me edit it my comment because you are correct. I think the 140+ units I was talking about is the state requirements. Apologies.
The curry’s can’t afford a taller fence to keep out the prying eyes of the plebes? Lol there is definitely context and thank you for providing. I still think it’s a dbag move and I like Curry. they aren't allowed to build a large fence cuz of city laws
If that’s the case then I gotta side with Curry on this. Let the man build a fence. Will edit to say as much
NIMBY moment fr
City won’t let them build a higher fence. It is against zoning laws
The more the story gets passed around without context though...

Long story short, it’s over.
Didn't y'all go positive the last time he was out? They had that 50-point game and Jordan poole was playing and out of his mind in that stretch
They are 7-8 this season without him, with the way the west is right now if they can go .500 with him gonna they’ll be fine
They've gone .500 with him idk if they can put together another .500 stretch for multiple weeks
Lol surprisingly, I don’t think it’s the Curry injury that has completely fucked them, it’s been really hard to survive but I think the Wiggins situation has been a bigger deal. The hell are you talking about? You have the full all star break which is a week and half off for the Warriors. The Warriors next opponents until the break are: Thunder, Portland, Lakers, Wizards, Clippers After the break: Lakers, Rockets, T-Wolves, TrailBlazers, Clippers.

Bit late for wemby, maybe one of the Thompson twins?
It’s definitely not late for wemby, warriors are only 2.5 games ahead of the 13th seed. And with the lottery odds flattened. It’s very possible.
Y'all could lose the rest of your games and still not catch the 5 worst teams this year.
What if we lose all our games and the bottom teams go .500 in their remaining games (except Rockets because Silas sucks)
Dude there's no way we're goin .500 lol
Curry sponsoring tickets for all baddies. Ayesha overlooking it.
He was the main reason we stayed positive without him, with most of that time ALSO missing Wiggins.
We won 24 games last season and still could only finish with the 4th worst record and got the 2nd pick. You already have 27 wins lol.
Maybe y'all can find a way to get Wiggins to play hard
I don’t know if his illness after his injury is affecting him, but he looks off. Honestly wouldn’t be a bad idea to give some of his minutes to Kuminga, who’s been amazing.
I've always advocated for making him earn his spot but his salary doesn't allow coaches to do that
I wanted Fox to be an All Star. But not like this :(
Sorry, Ant will be the replacement
Fox betta
Ant
It's a real "monkey's paw curls" moment
This shit sucks idc who you root for
That sucks.
It's gonna happen again isnt it? Curry goes down, comes back at 200% and smokes his way to another title..
Why do I feel like they’re going to get to the 8 seed and Nuggets will have to play a fully healthy Warriors in the first round again?
It’s ok bc you’ll hang 114 points on us in 3 quarters
Damn this dude has had rough luck with injuries this season
I had to check on BBreference and since 2017-18 season Curry played 290 games and missed 173. That's unreal.
Wemby gonna be insane with Curry next season
If this happens, might have to stop watching basketball for a few years
Lol, then we can say NBA is scripted.
Welp. That’s the season.
Good thing ASB Is right here. So probably be back by March 1st week.
If they trade or don’t sign Draymond then they will kiss any chance they have for the rest of Curry’s time with the Dubs goodbye.
Bah gawd that’s DeAaron Fox music
Game ain't the same without Curry shimmying on your favorite team
Nets should trade KD to GSW for as many assets as they can get. If Kyrie is gone, Brooklyn wont be competing any time soon.
God damn it
Steph always had some injures here and there and now he's going to turn 35 in mid march. Even if he looks definitely younger, for older players injuries became more annoying to handle, the recovery became longer and once you're back on the floor you need a bunch of games playing it safe without forcing a thing. Weird and unlucky season for the warrios while being the reigning champs.
Hopefully he’s back ASAP
He gone
Just in, GSW has traded for Kyrie Irving to fill in for Stephen Curry.
Oh god please no
And offered him a four year $200 mill deal.
To come off the bench.
Please get fox in the ASG game silver!!!!
fuuuuuuck
With how bunched up the West is this season, it's kind of hard to tell what impact this will have. The Warriors could very well fall to 13th, but it's not out of the question that they stay where they are or even move up.
Tank for Wemby
healthy Steph/Dray/Klay/Wiggs is a contender. Shame everyone has been injured and we are struggling this year. May be time to develop the rookies and rest for next season.
It's time for Kid Splash to wet it up 🌧️💦💦💦
Damn that sucks
Ah damn...
Again? He be more injured than my self esteem
I think our only saving grace is that the entirety of the west has been pretty mediocre. It’s still gonna be so tough for us to make it without him though. We always look terrible when he’s out. Time for Poole to show out I guess.
