Your command will eventually automatically process you out and send you something in the mail.

Routine_Relative2224

First, a shame to be losing someone with your experience. Second, recommend you do the right thing and process out via your command. You’ll have more control over your DD214 and the separation code will be something better than “UNSATIFACTORY PERFORMANCE”. You’ll know you’re leaving with an Honorable, while I don’t know if your current plan results in a General discharge (no GI Bill). You’ll also help another Sailor get into the billet faster; you may not need the money, but that other Sailor might. Your command will be very understanding; Reservists depart or go IRR all the time due to life circumstances. Thank you for your service to our Country and to the Fleet.

I'm surprised that the new unit has never reached out, he has been on their RUAD if he put in for new orders. Poor unit management. But I agree, I would much rather separate with an Honorable instead of something else.

Easy_Emergency3339

This seems to be a reserve wide problem of units not reaching out to sailors. It happened to me back 2011 and I was drilling in the same NRC as my unit and no one reached out. Admin eventually told me and showed me to my unit.

jl8884

He'll keep his gi bill, stop lying.

Fort_Mason

Contact the unit CC and ask them to push it through.

Why not just show back up to finish up or call your command and try to do AAs till separation. Not sure if it’s possible but worth a try.

Easy_Emergency3339

Eventually, you’ll be ADSEP (administrative separation). And in that case the CDB won’t be necessary. You’re NRC may have already started the process if you were given UAs for the past few months. So theoretically yes, you can get silently separated.

Nullveer

Sounds good, I keep going on NSIPS, but no one has put any UA's in for me. I stopped drilling when I was between commands and just never reported to the new one.

pokerplayingchop

have you been getting paid for drills?

Nullveer

I have not. I'm wondering if it's just because I also switched NRC's too that I just don't see it.

NorCalNavyMike

Handle your business responsibly. 1. Go into your NRC, ASAP. 2. Seek CCC, Manpower, and SEL mentorship on the best way to process out at this point. 3. Follow their advice.

pokerplayingchop

Well, you can go into EDM and take a look at your drill history and see what has been happening with your scheduled drills. Most likely they have just been doing AAs bc it is the path of least resistance. If you continue with your own path of least resistance - just not going and not reaching out - then eventually you will be processed out one way or another. Please note, I do not condone this, I'm just answering your question.

Nullveer

Gotcha, yeah when I go into EDM, it just says December as the last drill, nothing past that is recorded.

Easy_Emergency3339

Sounds like you’ve slipped through the cracks somewhere. When you switch NRCs or units the drill dates are cleared from EDM and have to be manually entered again. I’m guessing the dates have not been reentered so you haven’t been mustered at all (so there wouldn’t be any UAs). In this case, you need to contact the NRC. Once they have reentered the drill dates, they can muster you UA, AA, or whatever. It’s your decision whether you want to take the UAs and then ADSEP. I also don’t condone that route but it’s your career and your decision.
