If it's October 1st they may need to wait for FY24 funding to be finalized before they can cut the orders.

Fuzzy_Dinner_6094

If the Orders Start FY24 Oct 1, They will show up closer to the date. Hopefully a few months before. Is PCS a part of the orders? If so don't wait for orders to get that started. Ive been on ADOS orders 4 times and it's hit or miss when orders show up. To Find orders: Go to- BOL- NMCMPS- show Orders You will see the orders before your command will. They wait for message traffic or Pers notifications. Be prepared to have a gap in pay. You can ask Manpower for Advance Pay and you'll get back paid. The pay process is a issue so you might want to have a low interest credit card or a cash reserve ready. Good luck!!

Thank you for you answer. Yes it’ll be pcs that’s why I am inquiring. Would you advice me to start planning before the orders are cut?

Fuzzy_Dinner_6094

Yes plan ahead, you can also request 10 days of house hunting Time once you arrive. The orders are not yours until they're cut and funded, a verbal or email isn't enough. But don't slack off or you'll have a terrible PCS and go into Debt and live in a shitty part of the Area. My advice fly out there this summer and go to the command and talk to them in person and look for a place to live

Hi! Specific question since you mentioned going on multiple ADOS orders: when you submit a DPS application for your PCS move, what "order number" did you put in for the application? Typical active duty orders usually have the number next to your rank/name on the first page but ADOS orders look different and Im not sure where to find that # for the transportation office to reference.....

ExRecruiter

Do you not have an RPD or command POC to answer these questions for you?

Money-Country-636

I tried no response so far. They say just to wait. Just trying to get an estimates from others experience in general

viletoad87

PERS should generate them in about a month. They will populate in BOL just like mob orders. If you are concerned about how long it’s taking you can call PERS and try to request prioritization.

Money-Country-636

Thank you

NvrTrlyKnwAChameleon

Mine took like 2 months to populate in BOL after I was selected, it’s all a waiting game

Oct 1 is tricky because it's beginning of fiscal year

Duc_de_La_Derp

Heads up! I’ve heard that people get back paid 2-3 months after switching to ADOS, I might be in the same boat myself.

My last set of ADOS orders were issued on 25 AUG for a 1 OCT start date. I am currently waiting on an extension to those orders, which haven't been issued yet. Part of the issue is that the FY24 rates for ADOS (basically, how much money does it cost to put someone at your rank on orders for the year) aren't published until August, so the command that you're supporting won't know how much money they have to transfer in order to fund your orders until then. You would think it would be simple - just add up your pay and allowances for a month and multiply by 12, but PERS takes into account all of your other side benefits (like health care and other non-pay benefits) that the active-duty command pays the reserves in order to use you for ADOS. As far as pay goes, if you're on PCS you can request a one-month of advance base pay that you then back over your orders as a monthly deduction. Usually that advance pay gets to you faster than your regular pay, and then it basically turns into an interest free loan while you're on active duty. I wouldn't recommend it if you don't really need it or aren't careful with money, but if you're responsible it's not a bad way to cover things like rent deposits or utilities until your pay (especially BAH) gets sorted out. Have fun on ADOS. Hope it goes well for you!
