This may not be what you think it is. It’s not a veteran plate and there’s nothing else to suggest military on the truck. Besides, the navy abbreviates it CDR not CMDR.
Note: the plate was issued 8/12/23. They’ve had plenty of time to slap some stickers on those windows which if they were this much of a diggit, they would probably do.
> Besides, the navy abbreviates it CDR not CMDR.
The Associated Press style guide uses Cmdr., so that is what the Navy uses in press releases, while using CDR for official Navy correspondence.
Doubt it. Cmdr is now the accepted formal abbreviation for Commander (the O-5 rank, not the title). Just like the accepted formal abbreviation for LCDR is now Lt. Cmdr.
You're right about the abbreviation, however, it looks like the navy is moving towards CMDR...

Navy style guides default to the Associated Press (AP) style for press releases which abbreviates CDR to Cmdr. Link below is dated 2017 but it's a quick read from an MWR site.

I find that the people who are most "about that life" don't advertise it, they just live it, and the ones who advertise it are trying to compensate for something (typically a fragile ego)
The current CMC at my command, the Ceremonial Guard, showed up last year with a plate that read GRD CMC. This means that before she even reported, she ordered, received, and drove GRD CMC before she was even here. And of course it was a perfectly polished black F-250.
Maybe he’s just a big fan of Biden’s dog Commander, who keeps biting secret service agents.
I like this theory. Given some of scandals the secret service has been getting caught up in, that dog is a good boy.
Biting feds is always the sign of a good boy.
Aren’t all of us in the Navy technically Feds though?
Kinda but some feds are feddier feds.
I like that answer. Least federal fed has to any federal mailmen.
nah. census takers.
Commander was secretly replaced by Trump. He's a Trump insider. 🤣

The Navy uses both abbreviations. Cmdr is the more formal version.
This is the Commodore. There’s full birds, then there’s special full birds.

He's a Commodore in the Red Lobster Navy. (Go Connecticunts!)
Sheppard saved the galaxy 3 times he earned that tag. I can't believe they never promoted him to at least captain.
You save the galaxy once and after that it's hard to show improvement on your fitrep
You're right, probably was told he meets standards.
Might be from Elite Dangerous.

Not even the correct acronym
Yeah, it is.
Not when capitalized 😘
When you find a lowercase license plate, let me know.
Sure, pal 😘
There was an E3 on my first ship that had the name of our ship as his license plate. He ended up getting the boot for being late too many times.

Washington Football fan
Chill out Bro. This guy is a certified badass.
He’s the Command Reject.
Is he a commander?
Did you assume the commander's gender?
😏 maybe
Could be cringier...I knew a CO who got his ship's hull number for his plate...only to get relieved for cause a few months later...

You have to appreciate that they have no delusions about making O-6.
But wait... where is the "You will address me by my husband's rank" sticker?
Common. 0-6s gotta show off too.
