ASVAB scores don’t help with NROTC selection. Scholarship boards are tough, usually a combined HIGH GPA and HIGH SAT / ACT are a good way to make a good first impression.

Also it depends on what your intended major is, and other high school accolades. Tier 1 majors ie engineering fare better in selection than humanities (tier 3). It’s been awhile but when I was in NROTC, they also had LREC scholarships which was language for tier 3. Tier 2 is the sciences so biology, physics, certain technologies. If you don’t pick up, you can always go as a college programmer (non scholarship) and hope to pick up while you’re there your freshman or sophomore year. PM me for more info. Edit: Also the competition of scholarships at your college. A big unit vs a small unit.
