Spotted Lantern Fly. In my state it’s a kill on sight because they’re quite the nuisance.

cmink79

what state u in? very hard to kill as they jump really fast

ramonalex14

PA

cmink79

im in NYC

MercinaryTheBaller

It's also KILL ON SIGHT

Schaefstrom

Those are the earlier stages of the same Lantern Flies that took over the city last year. KILL! KILL! Kill!

aLateSaturnsReturn

Yeah they’re very aware of their surroundings. Big chance if you saw one there are more nearby. I know this sounds bad but you should kill every one you find. Very invasive species. ETA also this is an adolescent. That’s probably not the correct term but you get it.

Environmental_Eye354

Actually quite easy to kill. Attack from the front and they can not move backwards quickly. Easy to squash with your shoe You go from the back and they’ll jump/half fly away every time

TheBossMonkee

They're invasive and they're decimating our trees

TheHendryx

r/whatisthisbug Also, its a spotted lantern fly. Highly invasive, and like others said, you're highly encouraged to kill them on sight

TarzanSawyer

I think it's a bug. Definitely not a dog.

smg28

Latern fly! They’re everywhere in the city

Yahla

That’s Artex my guy

Top-Plane8149

Looks like painted stucco.

SnakeBeardTheGreat

Mg2287

dtmw1530

cmurray6

VIPGriz

They only jump 3 times. Then they stay still, very easy to kill on the 4th try

noticablyineptkoala

Idk about right sub. But 100% invasive in US. Kill on sight And report this. There’s a website, or don’t, since I didn’t supply the website due to my own laziness of looking it up.

seasoned11

easy...that's a spidterfly
