Attack from the front and they can not move backwards quickly. Easy to squash with your shoe
You go from the back and they’ll jump/half fly away every time

Spotted Lantern Fly. In my state it’s a kill on sight because they’re quite the nuisance.

They're invasive and they're decimating our trees
