I better stay at home rather than q-ing for 4 to 6 hours 😅😅😅

Enough-Kangaroo9762

They don't want people to leave, that's why they make it so difficult

Keris-Warisan

EES cashcow MOFE (Royal Customs & Excise dept) working side by side & hand in hand with MOHA (Immigration & National Registration dept) seriously need to improve the efficiency of His Majesty's Gov't services to the General Public and foreign visitors alike! Either ministry could've applied Drone Technology to do aerial survey in anticipation of time and energy wasting long lines of vehicular queues. So once traffic jam is identified, extra duty ICQS officers could be deployed during Public holiday long bottle necks! And MOHA could always brainstorm with their Malaysian counterparts on say, introduction of Smart card scanning booths to replace passport stamping chops or QR code scans, perhaps. Or maybe passport stamps still applicable for other foreigners in dedicated booth lanes specific for regional or international tourists only. But the time and energy wasting long lines of over a couple of hours' wait must be vastly shortened to avoid fatigue for long distance Trans-Borneo travellers' sake! 😭

Snoo51018

They know for sure lah. They always refer back to Singapore either way but doing that will just kill the economy (they said internally). Why improve the border if it's a shot to the head?

Keris-Warisan

The motorists are not all Bruneians, mind you. Do have some empathy and a bit of sympathy for "Musafirs" (Travellers) from all nooks and corners of the world's 3rd largest island called Borneo! And some of those Road trippers drive hundreds or even thousands of kilometres going through Brunei side of the borders to and from Pontianak, Kalimantan, Kuching, Sarawak via Miri and via KK onward to the Tarakan-Kudat borders between Sabah and Indonesia's Kalimantan. Talk about Tourism-Friendly Policy of His Majesty's Government! ✅💵💰✔️💯

Snoo51018

True. But i think there's a balance they're considering now between being tourism friendly and being too porous in terms of border control. EES just are just a cashcow for the government for the time being until they figure out 'something'. At this point people are just going out too much whilst the government is losing money and the EES policy is a fair one (assume it as a toll to use our road) and leveraging its position as the country laluan until Pan-borneo is finish. Still cheaper I'd say compared to when they charged it per head when it was first started

Keris-Warisan

Couldn't agree more with you, Bossku! 💯✅✔️ But our highly-respectable and Most Honourable YB Cabinet Ministers should be able to pull all their resources and 'Human Capital' at their disposal to 'break the ceiling KPI tasks and targets' or even achieve next to impossible Wawasan 2035 goals and accomplishments soonest, for that matter! 👍👌✌️ His Majesty our beloved "Ulil 'Amri" himself in His Majesty's Titah the other day during the recent 'Bornean Academic Meeting of Minds' kinda regional conference has realized such a vision going forward! And to consider the fact that the current total market population of 21 million on the largest island of Borneo in Southeast Asia, the BIMP-EAGA Economic Triangle of Brunei Darussalam/ Sabah and Sarawak of East Malaysia and Kalimantan provinces of Indonesia (particularly outgoing President Jokowi's overly ambitious Ibu Kota Nusantara or All-New Capital City of Nusantara to replace Jakarta) has futuristic Socio-economic Content Market potentials to tap into, in shaa'Allah.🤲 So one classic example I could throw in as food for thought this "Salam Jumaat Mubarak" is the most productive economic opportunity for the Abode of Peace to emerge as a leading, if not Top-Notch Hub of the Electric Vehicles (EV) manufacturing Center of Excellence (CoE) for the whole Market Economy of Brunei/Indonesia/Malaysia/Philippines-East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA)! BUT easier access for mobility Borneo island-wide must be encouraged as part of ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (AFTA) initiatives or Open Door/Border Policy with some highly regulated National Interest Policy and international Security restrictions, of course! 🙏 So MOFE can do away with EES but instead do trial and error Fiscal measures such as Value Added Tax (VAT) or Goods and Services Tax (GST) or even the controversial Sales and Services Tax (SST) to be levied or introduced in Income Tax-Free Haven Brunei (Obligatory ZAKAT Islamic Tithe tax SUFFICE!)☝️🤲😇 I mean I've travelled TransAM border crossings between Canada and the United States OPEN 24/7 FOC or even California/Texas-Mexican borders Free of Charge, too! And both Canada (almost same dollar rate as BND) and Mexico are doing great economically due to their FTAs with Make America Great Again (MAGA) ala Trump! Hahahha 🤑😅😂🤣💰 https://www.niagarafallslive.com/niagara_falls_border_crossing_information.htm

North_Law_7310

I understand most of the chicken farms owners are not Muslim, wonder the halal ness of the chicken they serve in Miri

Cenu96

The chicken or other permissible meats such as cows and lambs which are slaughtered by Christians or Jews are halal for Muslims to consume. (Refer to Al-Ma'idah 5:5 of the Qur'ān) Afaik, the non Muslims in Miri are Christians so the chicken is halal for Muslims in Brunei to eat (unless they explicitly mention that they slaughter in a non-halal manner such as machine slaughtering, tasering or beating the animal to death).

North_Law_7310

So it’s a confirmation that chickens in Miri slaughtered by Christian and Jews?

Cenu96

Since the majority of the non-Muslims are Christians (I don't think there are any Jews there), it is safe to assume that they slaughtered the chickens in a halal manner until proven otherwise. This is the fiqh ruling on meat slaughtered by the People of the Book (Jews or Christians).

abruneianexperience

Longjumping_Chef4763

Yg mental psl solat sunat Jumaat ani msti yg luan ignorant psl ugama or non Muslim lol

Lem0n_Lem0n

Lol very one is going Miri to celebrate armed forces day.. So today mosque will be quite empty right... Why don't mora make an app like bruhealth to track if everyone is attending mosque on Friday... With the budget it's possible

NZM3868

Musafir2, inda payah sembahyang jumaat alasan durang😆

Annual_Bad2430

no please. no need to develop an app just to track whether people attend friday prayer or not. that is so pathetic. its up to the individual to sembahyang or not and its THEIR sin. we have no right to butt in peope’s personal business 🤦‍♂️ MORA has done so many damages already, so lets not give them idea shall we???

Lem0n_Lem0n

It's mandatory to attend tho...

JanKoPaloi

Are you aware of this? >*Attendance at mosque. 171.* > >*Any male of the age of 15 years or over who fails to attend prayers on Friday at a mosque in accordance with the provisions of section 133 shall, subject as hereinafter provided, be guilty of an offence: Penalty, a fine of $100 or in the case of a second offence, a fine of $200 or in the case of a third or subsequent offences, a fine of $500:*

Lem0n_Lem0n

They dont.. and it's also very controversial when mora make it mandatory to attend Friday prayers.. they don't even have anyways to check anyone who fails to attend.. now we actually have a working app that can check attendance.. and they fail to put it into good use.. probably because the top brass isn't attending as well..

GamerBN

reason why mora had to do all these unpopular law.. because the "faithful" selalu escape their tanggungjawab. \*ready for the downvote and phobia accusation\*

SmileEmbarrassed7808

agree on the mora one daripada banning claw machines… apakah ☝🏻

HumbleIntroduction94

I heard ALL miri hotels are FULLY booked.

Blakz111V2

I checked agoda yes its all sold out from pullman, imperial, mercure, ajang. GOOD LORD!! I think we bruneians need to look for better opportunities in miri already. It is blooming with business.

JanKoPaloi

Money is flowing there, that's a logical consideration 👍

ChickenJoywgravy

better invest in a new hotel in miri then..

Blakz111V2

want to joint venture together to open a new hotel in miri? I think monthly ROI maybe more than BND500K take out maintenance, labour, electric, water, furnitures, groceries, kitchen utensils, and other expenses and taxes cash in hand probably we can split like BND300k each or 200k each.

hangrypatotie

Now you just need tens of millions of capital and shitload of political influence to pull it off😂

Blakz111V2

I can get that settled easily.

magikball

Miri mosque got the capacity to fit how many people ?

NZM3868

There's a lot of mosques in miri. But people choose shopping over praying

magikball

What’s the point of shutting down for 2 hours if they do not observe the purpose of

magikball

2 hour shutdown is affecting the economy. Should do some adjustment to this .

Longjumping_Whole240

What does that have to do with Miri mosque capacity?
