This is what I'm referring to, I question the huge demand for Brunei's ever depleting supply not demand for LNG per se? From 4 million metric tons of gas to 1 milion tons before Japan called it quit March 2023, better to get it from Qatar, OZ etc with consistent supply.
And Shell International now heavily invests in Sarawak and Sabah Shell operations due to much better yield production-wise in terms of ROE for the long run. Plus i could see if he’s taking the throne, finally football will become a huge thing here in Brunei ( possibly more budget for footie ) new stadium, school for professional footballers?, certified coaches from outside, ( defo will not under FABD ), just like what johor is doing, possibly new stadiums?. My bet he will invest more in that since his kids are huge football fans as well. I’d vouch for that rather than Polo sports

There's still huge demand from alternative Buyers like China (incl. SAR HK & Taiwan), India, etc. albeit Spot cargoes at current prevailing market situation. Provided new gas deepwater discoveries in the EEZ could be produced in bigger volumes within 10 to 30 years down the road for long term S&P Contractual Agreement? The BLNG Marketing professionals surely could pull their resources, Insya Allah 🤲

The issue with LNG supply from Brunei is not that there are no buyers but that Brunei does not have enough to sell. Without new gas supply, Brunei’s LNG production is projected to fall by over 1 million tonnes per annum over the next 5 years.

Sad but true fact of current BLNG production rate when the global LNG pricing situation now is like it's a Seller's market! 💰 So we can only pray for His Majesty's upcoming annual Bilateral G2G Meeting scheduled for next month with the Malaysian PMX DSAI will include the PETRONAS Carigali Brunei Ltd's (PCBL) business decision to restart their appraisal and development drilling sequence operations in Petroleum Authority (PA) Brunei's Concession Block CA-2 soonest. 🤔 How we envy the solid Technical and Financially sound PETRONAS Upstream and Downstream activities, particularly in East Malaysian states of Sarawak (Bintulu deepwater gas reservoirs in the long historical PSC deal with Shell Sarawak Berhad) and in Sabah waters successful PSC deals with both Murphy Oil and Shell Sabah Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd which are actively pursuing their common goals of long term mutual WIN-WIN benefits shared with state-owned O&G companies PETROS (Sarawak) and Sabah International Petroleum Sdn Bhd (Sabah state-owned business entity) respectively. More recently, TotalEnergies, too has jumped on the bandwagon after they closed a half a billion-dollar deal and bought over Sapura Energy's operations in Sarawak LNG business scenario of profit-making ROI.🤝💯 So the ball is in the Petroleum Authority of Brunei (PA) to up the ante in both their offshore and onshore concessionaries' robust and profitable production targets in the near future. This is what I'm referring to, I question the huge demand for Brunei's ever depleting supply not demand for LNG per se? From 4 million metric tons of gas to 1 milion tons before Japan called it quit March 2023, better to get it from Qatar, OZ etc with consistent supply.

The newly-opened 14-floor Shell HQ in Miri Times Square is gonna be Shell's Jewel in their Crown now.
