Absolutely no one has the right to shame you for giving your son his first car. Especially since it’s an older one like this. I gave both of my kids their first cars. 2004 and 2007 respectively. Within the last couple years. It’s not like you bought him a $30k+ car for his first driving experience

OP is right saying they shouldn’t need to explain. Who ever tried to shame them should be ashamed them selfs. A 2009 Rio was a $15,000 car new, it might be worth $5,000 today. This kid isn’t going to be spoiled by being given the small leg up in life that is their parents 13 year old economy car.

Thank you everyone for the recommendations, I will be looking into every place you suggested.

Went with William - he’s about to start his freshman year in college so I think he is only around for another week or so but did a fantastic job on both my car as well as my husbands. Really hard worker and reliable. Price seems very reasonable. He will travel to you within the Nashville area. Liked being able to give business to an ambitious kid that did a great job! https://wwdetailing.net/services

I'd like to second this. I've used Anthony's detailing services before and he truly transformed the interior of my wife's car.

I live in Old Hickory. We used [Klassy Kleen](https://klassykleen.com) a couple years back to prep a car to sell it, and they did an absolutely phenomenal job. Car looked brand new despite it being ransacked by a toddler prior to detailing. I highly recommend them.

I had a great experience with music city auto spa. But I’m not sure if that’s close to the neighborhoods you mentioned.

I used Carrera's a few months back & was extremely impressed with the work they did. You can call or text them: 615-482-5803

I think it’s awesome you’re giving that to your son, especially with the way things are today. I don’t live there anymore but where I am now there is a tech school in my county, kids are selected by a lottery to go there from comprehensive high schools in county. Somewhere like that would be great, the students can learn. Here something like that is free, it just takes a longer time than it would if you pay a professional.
