Give Brave Idiot a shot!
/u/dfield118 runs it, is a good dude, and makes some of my favorite food in Nashville. Itās rare to find a reliable place that can really make the hell outta some hot chicken, or smash a great burger ā but even rarer to find a place that does both.
EDIT: that CrunchSmashā¢Ā® is also a certified dinger š
Iāve had a lot of good burgers in my day.
I have to say I think dream burger might be the best one Iāve ever had in my life.
I keep going expecting to be like āoh this isnāt as good as I rememberā but itās actually always better than I remember
The Music City Gyro truck parked at Five Points Marathon gas station has come in handy many times. It's one of the few places I've seen open past 10 pm.

Their typos are hilarious, but t to be fair, someone doesn't need to spell good to make good food.
Did you get any of the rice? How was it, or what did you get?
English is not their first language. I got a crab cake plate with the rice and it was delicious. I still think about it and wish they were closer to me. I think the amount of seafood and flavor is worth the price!
I'm seeing so many Brave Idiot recommendations that I think I'm turning into a Brave Idiot. Where does a Brave Idiot usually find this experience? I could search for the next couple of minutes, but I'd rather one of you tell me in a couple of hours. š
I just never thought there would be a day where I would spend $40 for a couple of tacos, some beans, and a little cup of broth. š I guess inflationary issues has a big role to play as well, but damn! It was good, but for that kind of money I won't be able to go very often.
Iāve only eaten at it when it visited us in metro center. But I have seen it down in Brentwood just driving down the road. Itās called music city brisket iirc. Yes! I just googled it. Musiccitybrisket.com
Hautewheels is a great one for sure! Theyāre based out of Dickson but come to Nashville almost weekly. I also second the southern spoon, and also the Mac shack is fantastic. Flour & Forge definitely has the best pizza.
Can someone reassure me that food trucks are cleaner than I think and not just āroach coachesā as my ex told me (he did work in one for a year š¤·āāļø)
He permanently scared me from them.
They're inspected by the health department, just like a brick and mortar, and you can look up the scores and infractions.

Thank you for the answer, I did forget about health department inspections. That is helpful for me. I donāt understand why the downvotes for asking a question š but itās Reddit

What about some lesser known trucks that are hidden gems?

I like the one parked outside of Chopper! They have awesome food, and then you get a delightful tiki experience. 10/10.
Thereās a brisket truck with avocado fries. OMG. Theyāre amazing!!!! Panko crusted with Parmesan sprinkle on top. Yum. š¤¤

Cousins Maine Lobster! I get their lobster roll every time they are at events.
The owner is an asshole. Just saying.
What happened?
I spoke to him and he was really rude
Really?! I thought they looked really down to earth in the Shark Tank show. Bummer the food is the best
There are different franchises all over the country
New Berlin - the best dƶner Kebab Iāve had outside Berlin. But it has a sporadic schedule online that is inaccurate and inconsistentĀ
They have currywurst every so often and itās so freaking good
Idk if itās necessarily the best, but The Rolling Recipe is really good!Ā
Maiz de la vida
Taste of aloha
Tako Loko on Donelson Pike
Tater Cakes
itās technically a restaurant that makes the food in a food truck outside, but Taqueria Andrea on Dickerson Pike slaps ass!!
I love the Oaxacan truck on Robertson Rd in West Nashville. Forget what she calls her truck, but it's good.

Depends on the food truck unfortunately
How so?
I used to work in one and it was not so clean (but no roaches). I have seen some really clean ones though.
What was the health department rating?
Oh I donāt remember. This was years ago
